Tracy and Thomas W.'s rear patio of their Minneapolis home was unevenly sinking. They wanted to get it raised and leveled, so they contacted our office and set up a FREE Estimate. Our Design Specialist, Jesse, went to their home to inspect their concrete and provide a solution. Jesse proposed our PolyLevel and NexusPro, which are two of our main concrete services. Tracy and Thomas were confident in Jesse's proposal, so they went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Troy, and his crew member began the project by drilling small holes throughout the patio. In the holes, our team injected our PolyLevel foam. Our PolyLevel is designed to fill the voids and raise the concrete so the surface is level. Next, our team sealed the cracks with our NexusPro, which is designed to prevent moisture from invading the cracks. It also gives the concrete a new, fresh appearance.

A homeowner from Minneapolis, MN, was dealing with a deteriorating front walkway. Over time, the concrete had been sinking, creating numerous trip hazards. More so, the sinking concrete had allowed for the slabs to be taken over by grass and weeds. Not wanting the issue to get worse, the homeowner decided to begin the search for a company that could help fix the problem. During his search, he found the American Waterworks website and signed up for his FREE estimates. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Nick S, headed to the home to assess the situation.
Once Nick completed his inspection, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendation. Nick informed the homeowner that American Waterworks could address the sinking slab with the help of our PolyLevel method. He elaborated, saying that our PolyLevel is a dense, polyurethane foam that expands when injected beneath concrete slabs, filling voids left by soil erosion and slowly lifting the concrete back into its desired location. The homeowner liked the sound of the plan, and the work was scheduled for a few weeks later.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Pat B, and his team completed the lift with no complications. Now our customers can rest easy knowing trip hazards have been eliminated and safety restored.

A couple from Minneapolis, MN contacted us when they moved into their new home and discovered that their Radon levels were above 4.0. The couple knew that dangerous Radon levels are dangerous to inhale and with a new baby on the way, didn't want to take any risks. They called into the office and used their FREE estimate to have one of our Design Specialists, Ryan, out to the house to assess the situation. When he arrived, Ryan informed the couple that Radon is a naturally occurring odorless gas that is caused by the breakdown and decay of the soil around the foundation of the home. He went on to say that Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer right behind cigarette smoking. Once the inspection was concluded, Ryan recommended the installation of a Radon mitigation system in the home. He explained to the couple that this system works to pull Radon from the home, pipe it upwards, and expel it outwards and away from the home through a vent. The couple agreed and work began shortly after.
Our Production crew, led by our Foreman, Dakota, installed the system in no time. Now the couple can expand their family without worry that their safe space may be inhibited by an invisible threat!

As experts in all things crawl space, American Waterworks knows the ever-changing seasons, harsh weather, and fluctuating temperatures can spell disaster for the below-grade space. If the soil is too wet, your house’s structure can be lifted and moisture can seep into your crawl space, decaying your home’s wooden supports and flooring from underground. Summers are especially harsh on your crawl space, as hot, humid air mixing with cold surfaces creates condensation and a breeding ground for mold. Updrafts then bring these spores into your living space, creating an unhealthy environment for your family.
If these problems sound familiar, American Waterworks are skilled experts with reliable crawl space repair and vapor barrier solutions. The Clean Space vapor barrier system covers the sub-floor area and walls, keeping moisture out and the area protected from outdoor elements. Along with a dehumidifier, sump pump, and thermal crawl space insulation, you can keep the below-grade space dry and secure. If you're worried about sagging floors, we also offer crawl space support posts to help restore and strengthen failing floor joists.
If you have noticed leaky foundation walls, foundation cracks, basement flooding, cracked walkways, or sagging floors, American Waterworks has the solution you need, including:

A Minneapolis, MN, homeowner noticed that each time he went down to his basement, he was greeted with a damp, humid feeling. He had no idea who to turn to for Minneapolis basement waterproofing, so he took to the internet. Quickly, he found our website and recalled meeting one of our Design Specialists at the home and garden show in Minneapolis. He signed up for his FREE estimate, and several weeks later, a member of our Design Specialist team, Derek V, was headed out to the home.
When Derek arrived, he got right to work evaluating the basement. He met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations when he finished his inspection. Derek explained that he wanted to use two of our products to address the damp basement. First, Derek recommended our WaterGuard. This unique french drain gets installed below the floor slab but atop the foundation's footing. It works to collect water coming up through holes or cracks in the floor, giving it a channel to flow freely to a disposal site. Because the basement lacked a means of disposal, Derek recommended our SuperSump sump pump. This pump is an effective, yet economical solution to basement water intrusion. The SuperSump boasts a powerful Zoeller® â…“ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. The homeowner agreed with Derek's recommendations and scheduled the job for several months later.
The day of the project eventually rolled around. Our team, led by their Foreman, Francisco E, successfully installed 36ft of WaterGuard, and 1 SuperSump sump pump. Now our customer can rest easy knowing that his damp basement worries are in the past!

A homeowner from Plymouth, MN, received a postcard in the mail from American Waterworks, which highlighted the importance of having your home tested for dangerous radon gas. She was interested to know more about radon so she decided to have her home tested, as she felt it was better to be safe than sorry. When she called in, she scheduled her FREE estimate, and several weeks later, a Design Specialist from our radon and concrete division headed out to the home.
On the day of the inspection, our Design Specialist, Kyle P, headed out to the home. He got right to work inspecting each entry point he felt radon would enter through, as well as getting a better look at the home as a whole to find the best place to install a mitigation system, should it be needed.
Once Kyle finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to go over his findings. In anticipation of Kyle's arrival, the homeowner had already had their home tested, and the results returned at 10.9 pCi/L. Kyle began by answering some questions the homeowner had. He explained that radon is a naturally occurring gas that comes from the breakdown of soil around the foundation of a home. As the soil decays and the gas is released, it enters your home through cracks or small porous holes. Radon is colorless, odorless, and tasteless and, therefore, can go unnoticed in a home. The only reliable way to ensure your home is protected is to have it tested and mitigated if a professional advises you to. Kyle then said that the homeowner had radon rates of 10.9 pCi/L which is way higher than he'd like to see. The Minnesota Dept. of Health recommends taking action to combat radon at any levels that return over 4 pCi/L. Kyle recommended a radon mitigation system to combat the high levels in the home. A typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. When installed by a professional radon mitigation specialist, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health safety agencies. The homeowner liked the sound of Kyle's plan, and scheduled the job for several weeks later.
On the day of the installation, our radon production team, led by their Foreman, Dakota, was able to install the radon mitigation system without any complications. Now, our customer can breathe easier knowing that her interior air is clean!

A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, knew their basement was in trouble after they saw several damp spots throughout their basement. Knowing this was not a do-it-yourself fix, the homeowner searched for "basement waterproofing near me". After sifting through several companies, only one company stood above the rest, American Waterworks. The homeowner loved how we were a family-owned business and our ONE team mindset, so they signed up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, we sent Daniel, one of our Design Specialists, to the home. Daniel arrived promptly at the home and started his in-depth walk through the basement. Once he completed his investigation, Daniel determined that the northern corner of the basement was struggling the most. Daniel recommended installing WaterGuard in the struggling corner of the basement. The homeowner agreed with Daniel's recommendation and the plans were sent to the office for approval. Once they were approved, they were sent to our Foreman, Lane, and his crew to begin the project. Lane and his crew arrived at the home to start installing the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and is covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard was secured, the crew tied it to the current sump system. The crew successfully installed all the products, cleaned up their materials, and left the home. The homeowner was in awe of the excellent work completed by the crew. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner agreed and plans were sent to the office for approval. Once approved, they were sent to our Foreman, Lane, and his crew. Lane and the crew traveled to the home to begin the project. First Lane and his crew installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew could shift their focus to removing the old sump pump and replacing it with the SuperSump+. The crew installed a feedline across the floor to connect the SuperSump+ to the new WaterGuard. After the SuperSump+ was fully installed, the crew installed CleanSpace along the walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that prevents humidity and mold growth. The crew installs CleanSpace by mechanically attaching them to the basement walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners. Finally, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrubias, and his crew made their way to the site for the installation process and began by fastening our CleanSpace water vapor barrier to the walls to stop any future leaking water from entering the basement. Next, they jackhammered channels along the perimeter of the basement and filled them with drainage stone. The WaterGuard basement system was then installed on top and followed by more clean stone. Then, the TripleSafe sump pump was installed, and the crew connected a feed line from the new drains to the sump pump for the water to move from. For the last product, they installed an AprilAire dehumidifier to promote the flow of healthy air in the space. Finally, the crew filled in the jackhammered areas with a layer of concrete and smoothed it out for a clean final look. The homeowner was very happy with the results and glad she had contacted us for help.

A homeowner was enjoying their fireplace in their basement when they noticed a puddle of water as they got up. Worried about what that could mean for their home and how the damage could lead to more problems, they began to research companies offering water proofing services in the area. Seeing American Waterworks pop up on their search page, they decided to click in and see what we were all about. They discovered our FREE estimate services and liked the idea of having a professional to talk through what the issue was before committing to a product installation. They contacted our team and set up a free estimate with our Design Specialist, Jesse Williams, who visited the home to see what the problem was. After seeing the water damage in the basement, Jesse knew what would stop the issue and prevent further problems from happening. He explained to the homeowners that installing our WaterGuard system was the best course of action to solve this particular issue because the unique shape and large drain openings of WaterGuard® aid in preventing clogs in the system. The homeowner agreed to the product installation and the project started a few weeks later. When our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his team went out to the home to begin the installation, they began by hanging plastic so that dust wouldn't escape the work area. Next, they jackhammered the concrete next to the leaky wall and dug a trench for the WaterGuard to sit in. They connected the WaterGuard to the already existing sump pump. Finally, they covered the WaterGuard in a fresh layer of concrete to hold it in place. Juan and his team ended up installing 24 ft. of the product into the home. Now this homeowner can enjoy their basement and fireplace area once again!

A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, was enjoying her basement when she made an alarming discovery-her basement wall was cracking! Wanting to address the issue sooner rather than later, she began to search for companies in her area that could help her with the project. She stumbled upon our website and decided to call in and claim her FREE, no-obligation estimate. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Rick, was scheduled to head out to her home to complete his thorough inspection. Once Rick's walk-through was complete, he was ready to make recommendations as to how we could help. Rick suggested using our C-Channel and Geo-Lock Anchors to correct the problem. Rick explained that channel anchors are a versatile, effective system that can stabilize walls that are bowing, tipping, pushing in at the bottom, tilting in at the top, or showing similar signs of failure. They are installed with minimal disturbance to your lawn and landscaping, often in a day or less. The homeowner agreed with Rick's recommendation and the project was scheduled.
Our Foreman, Victor, and his team arrived at the job site a few weeks later and immediately got to work. First, the team looked at the interior wall and verified Rick's measurements. Next, they excavated holes outside, beyond the foundation, so the anchors had hard-packed virgin soil to anchor to. Next, the team drilled holes into the basement wall and ran a long steel pole through the hole to connect to the anchor outside. They then mounted the channel anchors and secured them to the floor to address the shearing of the wall. Finally, they tightened the anchors and backfilled the holes. Once the job was completed our homeowner was happy to know that her foundation concerns were a worry of the past!

A homeowner from Minneapolis, MN was beginning to notice stair-step cracks running down the far side of his garage wall. As the crack began to grow, he got more and more worried as he knew that a failing wall would lead to structural integrity, compromising the safety and resale value of the home. Wanting to do diligent research, he began to search for companies that would help him fix the situation before it was too late. Once he came across our website, he knew we were the company for the job. He called into our office and we set him up with his FREE, no-obligation estimate. A few weeks later our Design Specialist, Nick Skillman, headed out to the home to take a look and see what we could do. After his thorough inspection, Nick was ready to make his recommendation. Nick wanted to use our GeoLock C-Channel Anchors to fix the situation. He explained that our C-Channel and Geo-Lock anchors are designed to repair bowed, buckled, and tilting foundation walls. This proven repair technique is faster, less disruptive, and much more affordable than foundation wall replacement. The homeowner agreed and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew showed up a few weeks after the estimate appointment. First, they began by measuring the proper distance for the anchors to be on the wall. Next, they excavated pieces of the yard beyond the foundation so the anchors had nicely compacted virgin soil to be anchored too. Then they drilled holes through the foundation, connecting the anchor plate on the exterior with the inside c-channel. Finally, they tightened the anchors and backfilled the excavated areas of the yard. In total, Kiko and his crew ended up installing 4 anchors along the problem wall. Once the job was completed, our customer was happy to know his foundation worries were in the past.

A homeowner in Fridley, MN, knew it was time to have repairs done on their home. Instead of ignoring the issue, the homeowner began searching for a company to repair and restore their home. Overwhelmed by all the options, the homeowner decided to ask their friends and family for any recommendations. The majority of them recommended us, American Waterworks. The homeowner visited our website and saw that we offer FREE estimates, so they decided to sign up for theirs. Once the appointment was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of our Design Specialist, Jesse. When Jesse arrived, he began his analysis of the home. Jesse discovered that the foundation was struggling and the concrete needed repairs. After alerting the homeowner about the struggles, Jesse recommended the foundation be permanently stabilized and the concrete be lifted and leveled. Wanting to solve the issues, the homeowner agreed and production began. Our Foreman, Jordan, and his crew were assigned to complete the project. When they arrived, the crew started by installing the GeoLock anchors onto the west foundation wall. The GeoLock Wall Anchor system permanently stabilizes the foundation wall by anchoring your walls to the hard-packed untouched soil beyond your foundation. The crew installs the GeoLocks by digging a section of the ground to place the first GeoLock anchor. Once the GeoLock is in place, another anchor is attached to the interior wall. Both GeoLocks are connected by a small, steel pole direct through the ground. Once the GeoLocks are secured, the soil is put back on top of the ground. Once the GeoLocks were secured, the crew moved their attention to lifting and leveling the sidewalk in front of the home. The PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam injection solution, is inserted underneath the affected concrete. To install the PolyLevel, the crew strategically drills small 5/8" holes into the concrete slab. Next, the injection ports are installed in the small holes. Then, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slab. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. After the PolyLevel was successfully installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was excited to know their sidewalk and foundation were saved. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!
A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, was organizing their basement when they discovered a small horizontal crack growing along their foundation wall. Concerned by this discovery, the homeowner began looking for professional assistance. During their search, the same company kept getting brought up, American Waterworks. The homeowner's attention was caught, and they looked into the types of services we provide. After seeing all our wonderful reviews, the homeowner decided to call our Appointment Center and sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the appointment was set, we sent Nick, one of our Design Specialists, to investigate the foundation. Upon arrival, Nick greeted the homeowners and began his assessment. Following his assessment, Nick determined that the wall was showing early signs of failure due to improper soil fill. This is when the area around the home is not compacted properly. To stop the wall from further failure, the homeowner determined that the wall needed to be permanently stabilized. The homeowner knew this was their best option, so they agreed with the plan. Our Foreman, Jose, and his crew were assigned to complete the job. Once they arrived, they began by preparing the basement and lawn for the GeoLock installation. GeoLock is our wall anchoring system that permanently stabilizes foundation walls. First, the crew excavates a small amount of soil out of the ground, so the outside GeoLock anchor can be secured in place. Then, the crew attached the interior GeoLock anchor to the foundation wall. To connect the two anchors, the crew runs a small, steel pole through the soil. After installing five GeoLocks on the west wall, the crew cleaned up their job site and left the home. The homeowners were relieved to know they caught this issue early enough. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!
A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, was spending time with their family in their home when they noticed a strong pungent smell in their home. Unnerved by the smell, the homeowner began searching for a professional to provide them with some answers. Overwhelmed by all the options, the homeowner took their search to HomeAdvisor. While searching, the homeowner noticed our five-star rating and eye-catching reviews. That is all the homeowner needed and they called our Appointment Center to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the appointment was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Dylan. Once Dylan arrived, he began his detailed inspection of the basement to find the source of the smell. After completing the inspection, Dylan determined the odor was coming from the crawl space in the basement. After alerting the homeowner, Dylan proposed a plan that would solve all their issues. The homeowners agreed with Dylan's recommended plan, and project preparations began. Our Foreman, Victor, and his crew arrived at the home to begin the encapsulation process. To start, the crew began by clearing out all the debris and garbage in the crawl space. Once the crawl space was cleared, the crew was able to lay the Drainage Matting on the crawl space floor. The Drainage Matting gives the water flooding into your crawl space a channel underneath the crawl space liner. Next, the crew installed CleanSpace, a waterproof plastic vapor barrier, on the crawl space floors and walls. A homeowner in Saint Anthony, MN, was strolling into their home when they saw a substantial difference in their driveway slabs. Wanting to avoid further issues, the homeowners sought to have the driveway repaired. The homeowner wanted the best concrete repair service to complete the job, so they went to American Waterworks' website and signed up for their FREE estimate. After setting the appointment, our Design Specialist, Gary, traveled to the home to complete an evaluation. Following his detailed evaluation, Gary recommended the homeowners lift and level the patio, driveway apron, and four slabs below the apron. After hearing his recommendations, the homeowners agreed and project preparations began.
Our Foreman, Troy, and his crew arrived at the home and immediately began work. To start, the crew used PolyLevel to lift the sunken concrete. PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that is used to restore the appearance and safety of concrete without the mess and cost of replacement. To begin the installation, the crew strategically drills small 5/8" holes in the concrete slabs. Then, the injection ports are installed in those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected below the concrete to fill the voids and raise the concrete slab. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed, leaving lifted concrete. After the driveway is lifted, the crew moves to filling all the joints with NexusPro. The NexusPro solution is a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks that is formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and stand up to harsh weather conditions. The crew installs the NexusPro by drilling, smoothing, and preparing the cracks with a non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro is inserted in the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a finished appearance. The homeowners were happy with the crew's excellent job. Katie was having moisture problems in her basement. She was beginning to notice a musty odor, accompanied by a damp feeling, and mildew forming along baseboards. She was concerned that she was beginning to see signs of a basement waterproofing issue. Katie researched the best remedies for her problem and came across the services we offer.
When she called into our office, we set her up with our FREE estimate, entitling her to a free, no-obligation 3-hour estimate from one of our Design Specialists from our basement waterproofing and foundation division. After her appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Nick, headed out to her property to complete his inspection. Once he had concluded his walkthrough, he informed Katie that her issue was stemming from water entering the property, probably through porous holes and cracks in the foundation. He went on to say that while Katie wasn't experiencing dramatic amounts of water in the space, she shouldn't brush her problem off. He explained that a wet basement can lead to mold and mildew, creating unhealthy air circulating through the home. He recommended our AprilAire Dehumidifier to create healthy air and reduce the number of viable viruses in the air. She quickly agreed to this option and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Raul, and his crew installed her dehumidifier quickly and efficiently. Now, Katie can enjoy her space without the intruding musty smells and damp feelings! Josh L. in Minneapolis, MN discovered the adverse effects that radon gas has on people's health and he became concerned because his home had not yet been tested. He started looking for a company to test his home, and he came across American Waterworks at a local home show. He was glad to see that along with concrete repair, basement waterproofing and foundation repair, we also offer radon testing and mitigation.
He gave us a call and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Shane Nephew, to his home to set up the test. 48 hours later, Shane returned to read the results. The results showed that Josh did in fact have unsafe levels of radon in his home. Shane explained the risks of not having a radon mitigation system installed and he walked Josh through the installation process. Josh wanted to have the system installed as soon as possible, so they scheduled the project.
Our radon mitigation specialists drilled a hole through the concrete in the basement to create a suction point for the gas. Then, a PVC pipe is inserted which goes up through the house and exits the home through the roof. A fan is installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is being pushed away from the home. The installation took only one day to complete, and Josh is glad he took action to protect his and his family’s health.
Jacqueline M. in Minneapolis, MN had a bowing foundation wall in her basement. She was concerned about the pressure it was putting on her foundation, so she contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate. One of our Design Specialists, Shane Nephew, went to her home to inspect the wall and design a solution. After listening to her concerns and needs, he developed a plan to permanently restore her wall using PowerBraces. She was pleased with his proposal, so she decided to move forward with repairing her foundation.
Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his crew installed 6 PowerBraces along the bowing wall. The PowerBrace is an adjustable beam that stabilizes bowing walls and forces them back into their original position. PowerBraces are sometimes used instead of wall anchors because wall anchors require access to the soil outside and would cause us to cross a property line if that product was installed. The beams are covered with a zinc-coating, so that the beams will not rust or deteriorate over time. Jacqueline was glad that the process was not very disruptive and that they barely take up any space in her basement. She has peace of mind knowing that American Waterworks helped her find a long-term solution for her home.
