Sump Pump Failure in Houston, MN

Lori F. in Houston, MN found that her sump pump had failed during a heavy rainfall. Her sump pump was not able to keep up with the amount of water that was draining into it, so water began to pool around the sump pump. She knew it was time to have her sump pump replaced. A friend referred her to American Waterworks, so she contacted us and we set up an appointment for one of our Certified Design Specialists to provide a free onsite estimate.

After having the sump pump options thoroughly explained to her by our Design Specialist, she chose to have the TripleSafe sump pump installed. The TripleSafe sump pump system is our most reliable sump pump because it offers three layers of protection, including a battery backup pump that will work even when the power is out. Lori's basement is now protected, and she no longer has to worry about her sump pump failing.

Cracked Foundation Stabilized in Saint Ansgar, IA

Bill L. in Saint Ansgar, WI had a bowing wall in his basement, so he started looking into repair options. While researching foundation repair, he came across American Waterworks’ website. He contacted us to receive a free estimate, so we sent one of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, to his home to inspect his foundation and provide him with a solution. Pete recommended that we install wall anchors to permanently stabilize Bill’s foundation wall. Bill agreed and was pleased with the proposal that Pete developed, so he scheduled the installation.

Our production team drilled small holes in the wall and inserted long metal rods. The metal rods extend through the wall and into the soil outside of the home. Then, the rod is secured with metal plates on each end. They tighten the anchors and the wall starts to straighten and stabilize. The anchors can be tightened over time so that the foundation wall gradually becomes straighter and straighter. Our wall anchors are guaranteed for a lifetime, so Bill is glad he chose the right solution to secure his home for the long-term.

Wet Basement in Stacyville, IA Gets Transformed into a Dry, Healthy Space

Ann B. in Stacyville, IA was suffering from a wet basement. She was frustrated with the mess she was left with any time there was a heavy rain, so she started looking for a waterproofing contractor. She found the American Waterworks website and was pleased to learn that we have been waterproofing experts for almost 30 years. She contacted us to receive a free estimate, so one of our Design Specialists went to her home to evaluate her situation and design the best solution for her waterproofing needs. She was happy with the thorough plan he developed, so she chose to move forward with the installation.

Our production crew installed a full perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system into the concrete floor, a TripleSafe sump pump and our CleanSpace wall system. The drainage system now properly guides water to the sump pump where it is then discharged from the home. The CleanSpace wall system is a vapor barrier that protects Ann’s basement from moisture and potential mold growth. Ann was impressed with our crew and is happy with the result. Her peace of mind has been restored and she can now enjoy a dry, healthier basement!

Sump Pump Installation System in Orchard, IA

Our Service Technician, Kyle, was at a homeowner's house in Orchard, IA for their annual maintenance on their wall anchors. While Kyle was there, he noticed that water was leaking into the basement, so he informed the homeowners of our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. Our TripleSafe keeps basements dry with triple the protection and provides protection from all three sump pump issues. It also comes with a battery-powered back-up pump, so if the power goes out, the system will remain operating. The homeowners felt comfortable with the product and its warranty, so they went ahead with the project and signed the contract.

Our production team started the installation by jackhammering out the concrete floor basement corner, forming a larger hole. Inside the hole, our team installed our sump pump system, followed by the discharge line. The sump pump pumps water out of the sump pit through the discharge line, which exits the home and is connected to a discharge pipe outside of the home. To complete the project, our team filled the open-floor gaps with pea gravel and river rock and applied new concrete over them. The homeowners were happy with the work that was done and their peace of mind was restored!

PolyLevel Lifts Walkway in Stacyville, IA

In Stacyville, IA a homeowner was outside enjoying the warm weather in his front yard when he noticed how much damage the walkway leading up to the front door had gone through. Many of the concrete slabs that made up the walkway had sunk and separated from one another which created small bumps and empty joints in the surface. The homeowner decided that it was time to look into concrete repairs, so he went online with hopes of finding a service. Out of the searching, he found the American Waterworks website stood out to him most because of our PolyLevel foam. He signed up for a FREE estimate and was later greeted at the home by Design Specialist Brad Williams. Brad explained how our PolyLevel and NexusPro products were the perfect solution to solve the walkway problems, and the homeowner scheduled a date for installations. When our Foreman, Sam Klennert, arrived at the site with his crew, they began by drilling small pencil-sized holes throughout the walkway and inserting ports through them to reach the empty space below the surface. Then, the PolyLevel was injected in the ports to fill the empty space until the slabs reached their original height. The crew used NexusPro sealant to fill in the holes as well as the joints to eliminate any spaces or gaps in the walkway. Finally, a layer of native sand was spread on top of the sealant for a clean look to conclude the project. The homeowner was happy to be rid of the uneven slabs and to have the front walkway restored.

Struggling Sidewalk Saved with PolyLevel in Osage, IA

While walking into the entrance, several members of the bank noticed the sidewalk was struggling significantly. Concered it could become a serious tripping hazard, the homeowner knew they needed to find the solution. The bank wanted a professional to repair their sidewalk, so they asked a local Facebook group for any recommendations. Several members of the group recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so they decided to take a closer look at our company. The homeowner's eye was caught by our PolyLevel solution. The bank decided to call our Appointment Center and sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Brad, to the bank to take a closer look. Brad arrived at the bank and started the detailed investigation of the concrete. During his investigation, Brad found that several areas around the bank were suffering from settlement. To stop the settlement from continuing, Brad recommended lifting the slabs back to their original position. After hearing Brad's proposal, the bank decided to go ahead with the plan. Next, Brad sent the plans to our office to give the final stamp of approval. Once the office built and scheduled the project, it was sent to our Foreman, Troy, and his crew. Troy and his crew traveled to the home and started the PolyLevel installation. The PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. Once the PolyLevel injection was finished, the crew shifted their focus to filling the cracks and replacing the joints. The crew utilized NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and withstand harsh weather conditions. The crew begins by drilling, smoothing, and preparing the non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro sealant is inserted in the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a uniform, finished appearance. Once the product installation was complete, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew.
