A homeowner in Austin, MN was outside in his backyard when he noticed some things that he wanted to change in time for the rest of summer. The first thing on his list to tackle was the back patio space. Over the years, the slabs that made up the patio had slightly sunk which created little bumps in the surface as well as a few cracks. He went online determined to find an effective and efficient solution and searched "concrete repair MN." One of the top results that showed up was American Waterworks and after looking through our products and services, he signed up for a FREE estimate with us. One of our Design Specialists went out to the home later to inspect the patio and come up with a plan for repairs. Wet Basement in Grand Meadow, MN

Cathy G. in Grand Meadow, MN was experiencing water seeping into her basement every time it rained. She noticed that some of the water was also coming through her basement window. She was referred to American Waterworks by a friend, so she contacted us, and we sent out a Design Specialist to do a free onsite estimate.

Our Design Specialist found that her basement needed a full perimeter of WaterGuard since the water was entering her basement at numerous points. He also recommended that we install a new RockWell egress window to ensure that her window is properly sealed. She chose to have her basement fully waterproofed and the have the egress window installed to ensure she would be protected from any water seeping in. The combination of these waterproofing products ensured that Cathy's basement would remain dry.

Radon Mitigation in Racine, MN

Patricia G. in Racine, MN learned about the dangers of radon gas and she had not yet had her home tested. She gave us a call to set up a test kit, so we sent a Design Specialist to her home to start the test. 48 hours later our Design Specialist went back to her home to read the results. The test results stated that the average radon level in her home over 48 hours was 23 pCi/L and the EPA recommends homeowners take action if they reach a level of 4 pCi/L. With such a high level of radon in her home, she wanted to have a mitigation system installed as soon as possible, so we scheduled and appointment right away.

Our production team drilled a hole in the cement in her garage to create a suction point for the radon. Then, they inserted a PVC pipe that went up through the attic and out the roof. The gas is sucked up the PVC pipe and a fan at the top of the pipe ensures that the radon is pushed out and away from the home. After each radon mitigation system, we leave the homeowner with another test to ensure the system is doing its job. Patricia tested her home again after the installation and her results came back at .6 pCi/L which is a great improvement! Patricia is very glad she chose to protect her health by having our radon mitigation system installed.

Sunken Driveway and Sidewalk Raised in Adams, MN

Roger D. in Adams, MN had a driveway that sunk 2-3 below the concrete garage floor. He was frustrated with the trip hazard it created, and the large bump they experienced every time they drove in and out of their garage. He gave us a call to receive a free estimate, so we sent a Design Specialist to his home to inspect his concrete and provide him with a solution. Roger was pleased with the design we presented him with, so he scheduled a date for the concrete repair.

One of our PolyLevel experts, Jared Wroblewski, drilled small holes into the concrete slabs where they needed to be raised. Then, he injection our PolyLevel foam into the holes until the concrete was raised to be level with the garage floor. Water Damaged Basement Restored in Lyle, MN

Ann H. in Lyle, MN was suffering from a wet basement. She started looking for a local waterproofing company and she found American Waterworks’ website. After reading about our waterproofing services, she contacted us to receive a free estimate. One of our Design Specialists, Mac Cole, went to her home to inspect her basement and design a solution. Mac worked closely with Ann to design a personalized plan that was the best fit for her and her home. She was pleased with the proposal that Mac presented to her, so she set a date to have our waterproofing system installed.

Our production team started the process by removing the carpet and the concrete for the WaterGuard drainage system and sump pump to be installed. The WaterGuard was laid on the perimeter of her basement and the sump pump was installed in the corner. The drainage system now properly drains water to the sump pump and from there, the sump pump pushes the water through the discharge line to be expelled from the home. Ann now has peace of mind that her basement will be a dry, clean space for years to come. Our waterproofing system is backed by a lifetime warranty, so Ann is confident that she chose the right solution to protect her basement.

She realized she had not yet had her home tested for radon, so she called American Waterworks to have a test installed. We set up a test for her and returned two days later to read the results. We found that her home had very high levels of radon, so she immediately wanted to have a mitigation system installed.

Our crew drilled a hole through the concrete of her basement floor and inserted a PVC pipe which creates a suction point for the radon. Then, they ran the PVC pipe up through the home and out through the roof. There is a fan installed near the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is pushed out of the home. Rhonda is happy that she was able to have the system installed so quickly after receiving the results. She is thankful that her health is no longer at risk from high levels of radon.

Uneven and Cracked Sidewalk gets Makeover in Austin, MN

An office manager at a local Dentist's office in Austin, MN became concerned after hearing about a customer tripping on the uneven sidewalk on their way to an appointment. Once they met with Design Specialist, Kevin Beseman, it was clear to them that our products and services would take care of their needs. A homeowner in Brownsdales, MN, grew alarmed after discovering multiple puddles of water near the edges of their foundation. Concerned by this discovery, the homeowner wanted answers. After looking at "concrete repair mn", one of the closest companies to them was us, American Waterworks. After looking through our before and after concrete repair photos, the homeowner knew we were the best choice. Brad presented a plan of action for the homeowner and they reached a mutual solution. Once the solution was made, the plans were sent to our office and passed onto Domanik, our Foreman. Domanik and his crew traveled to the home to start the project. First, the crew inserted the PolyLevel underneath the sinking concrete. The PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. High Radon Levels Get Mitigated in Rose Creek, MN

A couple from Rose Creek, MN, had recently learned about radon gas and the dangers it poses to a household. Curious about what potential radon levels they had, they decided to conduct two at-home tests. The first came back at 18.1 pCi/L and the other, at 19.3 pCi/L. They knew that this was well above the recommended action level, which is 4pCi/L. They didn't know much about the process of installing a mitigation system, so they began their search for a MN radon mitigation company. After finding our website online, they decided to sign up for one of our FREE estimates, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Romeo, made a stop at the home.

Once Romeo finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to discuss the next steps. Romeo stated that he wanted to address the high radon levels with our mitigation system. He explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. The homeowners liked the sound of the plan and scheduled the job as soon as possible.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Dakota, and were able to install the mitigation system with no issues. Now, our customers can feel confident in the clean air they breathe!
