He met with a Design Specialist from American Waterworks to find the right solution for his needs and receive a FREE estimate. Basement Waterproofed in Currie, MN

Mark G. of Currie, MN had water leaking in his basement and needed to take care of the issue before it got worse. He gave American Waterworks a call to schedule a Free Estimate Appointment. We sent out our Design Specialist, Shane Nephew, to take a look at the problem and come up with a solution. After a thorough and detailed inspection, Shane proposed our CleanSpace Wall System, WaterGuard System, TripleSafe Sump Pump, IceGuard System, and LawnScape Outlet. Mark was comfortable with the proposal and presentation so he went ahead and scheduled the installation date.

Our foreman, Miguel Ceniceros, and his production crew began the installation by breaking out all of the concrete around the perimeter of the basement to form a trench. Next, they installed our CleanSpace System on all the walls, designed to prevent leaks and mold growth, while also giving the basement a clean and neat appearance. Then, our crew installed our WaterGuard System in the trench, which serves as an underground drain and is made to collect any waste or water seepage leftovers from the CleanSpace. Miguel and his crew filled the open gaps with rock and installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump; the best sump pump that we offer to customers and it provides three levels of protection to prevent any further water hazards. From there, our crew replaced the concrete and left the basement perimeter looking better than when it started. We installed a 15-foot-long discharge line from the sump pump to the IceGuard System outside of the home, which is an extra protectant that keeps water or melted ice away from foundation walls. The discharge line ended at the LawnScape Outlet in Mark's yard; an escape for invasive water. Mark was very satisfied at the end of the project and was thankful he got a hold of American Waterworks when he did!

Chandler, MN Concrete Repair

A homeowner in Chandler, MN, was in their garage one evening when they discovered the floor was beginning to drop. Since their annual maintenance appointment was coming up, the homeowner wanted to discuss concrete repair with our Service Technician. We sent Rasean, one of our Service Technicians, to the home to complete the annual maintenance appointment. When Rasean arrived, he completed the inspection of the previously installed products. The homeowner mentioned to Rasean that their garage floor was beginning to sink. After inspecting that area, Rasean confirmed it was sinking and recommended that the floor be lifted and leveled. The homeowner deliberated their options but ultimately decided to follow Rasean's suggestions. Once they were approved by the homeowner, they were sent to the office to be finalized. Our Foreman, Domanik, and his crew were assigned to complete the project, so they traveled to the home. To start the project, the crew inserted the PolyLevel underneath the sinking concrete. PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into these small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. Once the PolyLevel installation was complete, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was given peace of mind knowing their floor was properly raised. High Radon Levels Mitigated in Lake Wilson, WI

A homeowner from Lake Wilson, WI, wanted to get his home tested for radon gas. He had heard that radon can be dangerous if not dealt with properly. He decided to begin the search for a company in the area that could fix his issue. When he came across our website, he decided to give us a call and set up his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Tony, headed out to the home.

When Tony arrived, he completed his inspection and left behind a radon monitoring kit to properly gauge the levels in the home. When Tony finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to give his recommendations. Tony began by saying the homeowner was right to contact us. Elaborating, Tony informed him that radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is emitted from rocks and soil breaking down around your home's foundation. He went on to say that radon exposure is the leading cause of lung cancer after smoking, killing about 21,000 people in the US each year. He went on to say that if high levels of radon were present in the home, he would recommend installing a radon mitigation system. Tony explained that a mitigation system is used to lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to minimal levels. A typical radon system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. Then, an in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. The homeowner liked the sound of Tony's plan, but decided to wait until they received their radon results back.

A few days later, the radon test results returned with an average radon level of 4.8 pCi/L. The Environmental Protection Agency urges mitigation for any levels that come back over 4 pCi/L. Not wanting to risk the health of their household, the homeowner decided to install the mitigation system.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Dakota, and his team installed the mitigation system from the existing sump pump in the home and piped it up and outward. Now, our customer's radon levels are measuring at 1 pCi/L, way below their previous levels, and back at safe levels to inhale!

Failing Wall Gets Stabilized in Iona, MN

A new property owner in Iona, MN, required foundation repair. An investment property that had just been purchased had a large crack running lengthwise on one of the basement walls. The new homeowner was worried that this issue might compromise the structural integrity of the home, so he decided to begin his search for a MN foundation repair company. When he came across our website, he signed up for his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Eric H, headed out to the home.

Once Eric finished his walkthrough of the home, he met with the homeowner to discuss the next steps and recommendations. Eric began by saying that foundation walls are designed to support loads from above, not from the side. When side pressure on your walls exceeds their ability to withstand the force, they will begin to crack, bow, slide in at the bottom, and/or tilt at the top. He went on to say that our GeoLock wall anchors counteract soil pressure by anchoring walls to stable, undisturbed soil outside your home. After installation, wall anchors can often be tightened over time to further straighten your foundation walls and pull them back to their original position. The homeowner liked the sound of Eric's plan and scheduled the work for several weeks later.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Jeremiah, and his team ended up installing 4 of our GeoLock anchors on the west wall. Now, our customer can continue to rebuild his new property without worries that the foundation is in trouble!
