Job Stories From Pierce County, WI
Basement Waterproofing in Ellsworth, WI

Jennifer T. in Ellsworth, WI was experiencing water leaking into her basement. Every time there was a heavy rain, she noticed that water would pool on her basement floor. She knew it was time to get in touch with a waterproofing professional because the next time it rained, she would be in the same situation.

She found American Waterworks on the internet while searching for waterproofing contractors in her area and she decided we looked like a good fit for her. We sent our Design Specialist, Shane Nephew to her home to give her a free onsite estimate. She agreed with Shane's proposal, so we set a date for our crew to install our waterproofing system as soon as possible.

We installed a full perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system and a SuperSump sump pump system. Any water that would seep into her basement would now be guided through the WaterGuard to the sump pump so that it could be properly discharged to the outside of the home. Jennifer can rest easy knowing that she made a smart investment to protect her home from future water damage.

Wet Crawl Space in Prescott, WI

Lisa J. in Prescott, WI had water seeping into her crawl space. It had created a musty smell throughout the home, and because that space was not insulated, it was not energy efficient. She was also concerned about the damage that the water could cause. A home inspector recommended that she contact American Waterworks to help waterproof her crawl space. She gave us a call and we sent our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson, to her home to give her a FREE estimate. Chad developed a plan to fully waterproof and encapsulate her crawl space to make it a clean, healthy and efficient space. She agreed that his proposal was the best fit for their needs, so an installation date was set.

Our crew installed CleanSpace, TerraBlock, SilverGlo, rim joist insulation and a smart drain sump pump. Darlene D. in Spring Valley, WI had water seeping into her basement and her old sump pump was not able to keep up. She started looking for a waterproofing company and she came across American Waterworks in the phone book. She saw that we offer free estimates, so she gave us a call. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Chad Johnson, to her home to inspect her basement and provide her with a solution. Darlene was pleased with the proposal that Chad developed, so she scheduled a date for the installation.

Our production team installed WaterGuard along the north perimeter of her basement and a feed line that leads under the concrete, to the TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe sump pump is our most reliable sump pump. Water seeping into the basement is now guided through the WaterGuard and feed line, to the sump pump. From there, the water is pumped through the discharge line and expelled from the home. Water Seeping Through Block Foundation in Hager City, WI

Samantha H. in Hager City, WI discovered that water was seeping through her block foundation after she noticed water damage on her drywall. She started researching waterproofing solutions and she found the American Waterworks website. After reading about our waterproofing system, she decided we were the best fit for her. She called us to receive a free estimate, so we sent one of our Design Specialists to her home to provide her with the right solution.

After meeting with our Design Specialist, she chose to move forward with the installation. Our production crew started the installation by removing the bottom half of the drywall and removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor to create a trench. They laid the WaterGuard drainage system and installed the sump pump. The WaterGuard connects to the sump pump and now properly guides the water into the sump pump basket. From there, the water is pumped through the discharge line and expelled from the home. Lastly, our crew installed a half wall of our CleanSpace vapor barrier to protect her basement from any moisture seeping through the foundation. Since the installation, Samantha has been able to enjoy a dry, healthier basement.

After proposing our best waterproofing products and Dianna got all of her questions answered, she scheduled a date for her installation.

Our foreman, Lane Schlobohm, and his production crew began the installation by breaking out the concrete around the perimeter of Dianne’s basement, forming a trench. In the trench, they installed 152 feet of our WaterGuard Drainage System, which acts as an underground drain system for water seepage. Then, they installed 152 feet of our CleanSpace Wall System around the wall perimeter. CleanSpace is a plastic barrier that prevents humidity from invading basement walls and provides the room with a bright and clean look. Next, they installed our Triple Safe Sump Pump, the most efficient and heavy-duty sump pump that we have, and it provides three different levels of protection to prevent any further water damage. From that point, our crew installed a 4-foot-long discharge line from the sump pump to the IceGuard System outside of the home. The IceGuard system acts as a protective block and keeps water away from the foundation. Finally, our crew attached a LawnScape Outlet, a pipe buried from providing an “escape” for the water to go. To complete the installation, Lane and his crew covered all of the open gaps in the basement with rock and replaced the broken-out concrete. Dianna was so happy about the outcome and was glad she decided to call American Waterworks when she did!

A homeowner in Spring Valley, MN, was putting old decorations away when they discovered signs of water intrusion and stains in their basement. Wanting to solve the issue before more snow arrived, the homeowner began looking for the best waterproofing company near them. After asking a local Facebook group, the homeowner saw that multiple people suggest to work with us, American Waterworks. Eric arrived at the home and he began his detailed inspection to find where the water was coming from. After taking a closer look, Eric determined the water was seeping from the walls. As soon as he found the cause, Eric could provide a solution for the homeowner. Eric suggested installing the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement and replacing the sump pump. The homeowner agreed and production preparations commenced. Our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew were assigned to complete the job. When they arrived, they began by installing protective plastic on the homeowner's belongings. After hanging the plastic, the crew started installing the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. After the WaterGuard was installed, the crew mechanically attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Stabilized Foundation in Bay City, WI

A homeowner in Bay City, WI was curious about the state of his home's foundation after he noticed the floors near his front door had started sagging. He didn't think it was a major concern at the moment, so he pushed it aside in his mind for the time being. He later was watching TV and saw one of the American Waterworks company commercials advertising our FREE no-obligation estimates and became interested in scheduling one. The homeowner decided that it was best to get a professional's opinion with an estimate in case something was wrong. Sinking Driveway Apron Fixed in Elmwood, WI

A homeowner in Elmwood, WI was concerned about the bump in between his driveway apron and the garage floor after he tripped over it. Not only was it a tripping hazard, but the bump made for a difficult drive in and out of the garage for his car. He decided to take action and find a solution rather than let the problem sit and possibly get worse. Going online to search for concrete repair companies in his area, the homeowner was overwhelmed with the results all telling him different things. He eventually decided to go with American Waterworks because he felt like it was the best decision of him and because of his interest in our FREE no-obligation estimates and positive reviews from past customers. Once we set up his estimate, we sent over Design Specialist Mac Cole to the home for an inspection of the concrete. Mac had seen similar driveway situations before and knew just what the problem was. He explained that the soil underneath the concrete had likely settled over time, which led to the sinking slabs and the bump that had formed. Mac also suggested that our PolyLevel foam and NexusPro sealant be installed to achieve the driveway apron results that the homeowner wanted. Later, one of our Foremen, Patrick Burnes, and his crew went to the site to carry out the installations. They drilled small holes in the concrete and inserted ports through them to reach the empty space below the surface. Then, the PolyLevel was injected to lift up the concrete to the height of the garage floor. NexusPro sealant was then filled in the holes and joints to finish the project and the homeowner was very happy with the results.
