It's easy to see what the negatives of having a basement waterproofing problem are, but some homeowners might feel that they can deal with these issues rather than seek help. A waterproofed basement is easy to finish, and even if you aren't planning on finishing your basement, you'll still be able to use it for storage.

Crawl space encapsulation can keep your home mold-free

Just like basements, water and moisture can infiltrate a crawl space and lead to mold and rot. And when crawl spaces have vents or are left totally open to the outside, other problems, like variable temperatures and critters, can start to take their toll on your home.

American Waterworks installs CleanSpace crawl space repair and encapsulation products to prevent crawl space mold and moisture. Using a crawl space vapor barrier, doors, and access wells to help seal the space, we'll keep your crawl space separate from the rest of the world. We also offer crawl space versions of our sump pumps, drainage matting, dehumidifiers, and insulation to make your crawl space dry and temperate.

Foundation repair and concrete leveling

Is your foundation showing signs of settlement or wear? Your foundation is not only the crucial basis from which the rest of your home gets its structural integrity, but it's also a major focus point when you go to sell your home - and if it's in bad shape, you'll have a hard time selling. In addition to our basement waterproofing expertise, American Waterworks is also a foundation repair expert with the tools and techniques needed to solve common foundation problems. These problems include:

  • Settlement and sinking
  • Bowing walls and wall cracks
  • Floor cracks and uneven floors
  • Sagging crawl spaces
  • Foundation heave
  • Sticking windows and doors
  • Collapsing retaining walls
  • Street creep repair
  • Tilting chimneys

American Waterworks makes use of foundation piers, wall anchors and reinforcement systems, crawl space support jacks, and many other products to prevent your foundation from getting worse. And oftentimes, these products will completely mitigate the initial signs of damage - your walls will straighten and cracks will become invisible. With the assistance of Foundation Supportworks, a foundation repair dealer network, we know we can restore value to your home.

When concrete slab settlement is the brunt of your concern, we can help with concrete lifting and leveling services. PolyLevel® is an award-winning concrete leveling technique, and it is vastly superior to traditional methods like slab jacking. It uses a lightweight, environmentally-friendly foam to lift and level any concrete slab, without causing long-term harm to your property.

American Waterworks also offers NexusPro and SealantPro for a seamless driveway.  NexusPro is an incredibly durable and long-lasting solution for cracked concrete repair. NexusPro is resistant to UV rays and harsh weather, and sets in as little as one hour. SealantPro, our driveway sealing formula, is not available in your local home improvement store and protects your concrete against damage for 3-5 times longer! Call today for a free estimate on amazing PolyLevel® injections, NexusPro or SealantPro applications.

Job Stories From Pine Island, MN
Failing Wall Gets Stabilized in Pine Island, MN

A homeowner from Pine Island, MN, was beginning to notice a large crack running lengthwise along the foundation wall in his basement. He was concerned about what the crack could mean for the rest of the home and didn't want water to enter through the cracks. He decided to begin the search for a foundation repair company in Minnesota that could help fix the issue. Once he came across our website, he decided to sign up for his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later our Design Specialist, Darin S, headed out to the home to see what could be done.

When Darin arrived at the home, he got right to work completing his inspection of the foundation. Once he concluded, he met with the homeowner to give his recommendations. Darin explained that foundation failure can occur for a few different reasons, and while it seems like a daunting task to address, the sooner a solution is settled on, the better off the foundation will be. He went on to say that we could fix this crack with the use of our GeoLock wall anchors. Our GeoLock wall anchors are made of galvanized steel and work to permanently stabilize foundation walls by anchoring the wall to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation of the home. Darin finished by saying that after the installation, the anchors can often be tightened over time to further straighten foundation walls as the house settles more over the years. The homeowner loved the idea of having lasting support, and decided to schedule the project for a month later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Francisco, and his team began the process by verifying the measurement that Darin had left for them. Next, they dug holes beyond the wall of the foundation, most likely in the yard, to place one end of the anchor. Next, they drove a steel beam through the problem wall to the anchor on the outside. Finally, they attached the interior plate and tightened each anchor, and backfilled the holes in the yard with fresh soil. In the end, our team installed 7 of our GeoLock anchors around the basement. Now our customer can enjoy his space without worries that his foundation is compromised!

Basement Waterproof Revamp in Pine Island, MN

A homeowner in Pine Island, MN, was discouraged after seeing signs of water damage in their basement. Knowing this was a bigger project, the crew knew they needed an expert opinion. In the past, the homeowner had a FREE estimate with us but did not go ahead with the project. They decided to work with us again, so they called our Appointment Center to sign up for another FREE estimate. After the estimate details were finalized, Rick, one of our Design Specialists, was sent to the home to provide the homeowner with some answers. Once Rick arrived, he began inspecting the water damage throughout the basement. Following his estimate, Rick recommended updating all their waterproofing products. The homeowner agreed with Ricks's recommendations, and then production preparations began. Our Foreman, Lane, and his crew were assigned to complete the project. When they arrived at the home, Lane and his crew began by installing the WaterGuard around the entire basement. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. After the WaterGuard was installed, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the TripleSafe sump pump. To connect the TripleSafe to the WaterGuard, the crew installed a feedline across the foundation floor. Next, the crew mechanically attached CleanSpace to the basement walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that is ideal for foundation walls. The crew installed the IceGuard, an anti-freeze fitting, on the outside discharge line. After all the products were properly installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was put at ease knowing their basement was no longer a flooding risk.
