Failing Cart Bridge Lifted Up in Fertile, MN Failing Cart Bridge Lifted Up in Fertile, MN

Jeff, of Fertile, MN, reached out for support with the local golf course, Sandhill River Golf Course. A 16ft. wide cart bridge on the course needed support, as the soil beneath was settling and the bridge was becoming unsafe. Design Specialist Richie went to look at the issue after Jeff contacted us for a FREE estimate. After a thorough examination, Richie recommended that Jeff and the club invest in helical deck piers. These plates have used proven structural engineering technology for years to repair damaged foundations and overcome problems caused by weak and unstable soil conditions. Weak or unstable soil near the surface isn't a problem because piers can be driven to reach robust and stable soil at greater depths. Jeff was happy with the proposal, and we got to work!

Foreman Jose and his crew installed 4 of our Helical Piers, designed to create a solid supporting base that transfers the structure's weight downwards to strong supporting soils. The helical-shaped plates on the shank of a helical pier are engineered so that the dock can be turned into the ground like a giant screw. Rotational resistance is measured as the pier is installed to ensure that the dock is solidly anchored in the soil. Our helical piers were installed to lift the bridge back to its original position. The team mechanically screwed sections of the helical pier into the soil. Once the dock met its depths, our crew installed foundation brackets below the footing. The bridge's weight could transfer through the helical pier to deep soils. Lastly, Jose and his crew replaced the soil to ensure the space looked neater than when they found it. Andrea from Climax, MN, contacted us when she noticed that her basement walls were beginning to bow inward, showing signs of failing. Andrea was afraid that if left unresolved, she would risk compromising the home's structural integrity. She called American Waterworks for a FREE estimate, and shortly after the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property.

Ian recommended that Andrea invest in our PowerBrace Wall System and GeoLock Wall Anchors to correct the issue.

Once approved, our Foreman and his crew got to work. First, 12 GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed; this innovative system permanently stabilizes foundation walls by anchoring them to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation. Our Foreman explained to Andrea that the anchors can be tightened over time. Then, the team got to work strategically placing PowerBraces around the basement, inserting 12 PowerBraces to stabilize the wall further. These were also installed with WaterGuard brackets for futureproofing. The PowerBrace system is an I-shaped beam that stabilizes and helps straighten the bow of the wall over time. The PowerBrace system is drilled into the home's support beams and the concrete on which the house lies.

Andrea's peace of mind was restored, and she was glad she trusted our team to ensure that her basement walls were no longer an issue.

Foundation Gets a Lift in East Grand Forks, MN

From East Grand Forks, MN, David was facing an issue with his block wall beginning to shift, causing some of the blocks to be pushed out. David was concerned that if the blocks were left to continue to shift, the house's overall look would be impacted, making the resale of the house much harder. When David got in contact with us, we set him up with our FREE estimate. Our Design Specialist, Ian, went out to the property to do a thorough inspection of the issue and to see what we could do to help ease David's fears. Once he completed his inspection, he let David know that his only area of concern was the NE wall. He recommended that David fix the issue quickly for the sake of the resale of the home, but also so the damage couldn't compromise the foundational integrity of the home more than it already had. Ian recommended the use of our Helical Piers to lift the foundation and provide further stabilization. David agreed and the installations began soon after.

Our Foreman, Cameron, and his crew ended up installing 4 of our Helical Piers, the most ideal piers for the weight of the structure we were lifting. These piers have a great deal of versatility for stabilizing and restoring foundations and masonry elements. They are quick to install and cause minimal disturbance to the home when installed.

When the work was completed, David was pleased to see that his home's foundation looked fresher than before and that he didn't need to worry about structural concerns any longer.

Deteriorating Wall in Winger, MN

A homeowner in Winger, MN, found that their north foundation wall was crumbling. Wanting to save the wall, the homeowner sought to find the best company in foundation repair. After comparing several companies, the homeowners determined that American Waterworks was the best fit. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate details were finalized, we sent our Design Specialist, Kole, out to the property to complete a comprehensive inspection. After his inspection, Kole warned the homeowners that their wall was rapidly deteriorating and showed signs of wall failure. We can determine wall failure from exterior symptoms like tilting chimneys, street creeps, and in the homeowner's case exterior cracks. Kole provided a solution for the homeowners that is cost-effective and would properly restore the foundation wall with our Wall Restoration System. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowners agreed and preparation began. Our Foreman, Francisco, and his crew arrived at the property and started by removing all the deteriorated sections from the wall. Once the deteriorated sections were removed, the crew could install the wire mesh along the weakened walls. After the wire mesh was installed, the crew then placed the new concrete over the newly recovered foundation walls to build them up. In addition to the north wall, the wall restoration occurred on the west corner of the home and near the window along the south wall. Finally, the crew smoothed all the repaired walls to make them look as good as new. The crew successfully restored the walls and cleaned their job site. Concrete Monument Restored in Winger, MN

In Winger, MN an employee that worked in the Winger Council Chambers building was concerned about the monuments across the street in the park because she noticed just how damaged the concrete surrounding the monument had gotten over the years. Some of the concrete slabs had sunk and there were also many cracks scattered throughout the surface. She knew it needed some repairs for the area to be restored, so she had the idea approved and began looking for a service in the Minnesota area. The American Waterworks company name stood out to her because of our FREE no-obligation estimates. She signed up for one and later met with our Design Specialist, James Nelson, to discuss the concrete around the monument. James inspected the area and determined that two of our quality products were the perfect solution for the space to be restored. The employee trusted James's knowledge and was eager to move forward with the project, so she agreed to the installations. Our Foreman, Jordan Simonson, and his crew went to the site to carry out the installations and began the process by drilling small pencil-sized holes throughout the concrete. Next, they inserted ports in the holes to reach the empty space below and injected PolyLevel foam through the ports to fill in the space until each slab was lifted back up. The crew then filled the holes with NexusPro sealant as well as the many cracks to even out the surface. Finally, to complete the project some native sand was spread on top of the sealant for a pleasing look to the space. The employee was very happy with the whole process and glad to have positive results with the concrete around the monument.
