Sunken Steps in Maplewood, Minnesota Sunken Steps in Maplewood, Minnesota

John H. of Maplewood, MN was tired of having sunken steps on his front porch. He saw an advertisement for American Waterworks and was interested to learn more about our concrete repair solution. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Kevin McWithey, to his home to inspect his concrete problem and design a solution. Kevin assured him that we could have his steps raised and leveled within a matter of hours by using our PolyLevel injection. John was happy to hear this, so he set a date for the injection.

Our concrete repair experts, Jared Wroblewski and Trevor Ellingson, drilled small holes into the concrete slabs where the foam needed to be injected. They injected the foam until the steps were raised and leveled back to their original position. John is glad he found a concrete repair solution that is a faster, durable and more affordable alternative to traditional concrete repair. The process only took a couple of hours, and now John and his family are able to enjoy a beautiful front porch for years to come!

A homeowner from St. Paul, MN got in touch with us when he noticed that his floor over his crawl space was beginning to slope inwards. Concerned that the issue might be tough to fix, the homeowner got in touch with us to see if we could help. We set him up with our FREE estimate and a few weeks later our Design Specialist, Daniel, headed out to the home to see what could be done.

After Daniel completed his inspection, he let the homeowner know that he was experiencing slopping floors because the beams that held up the ceiling of the crawl space had been compromised. Daniel went on to say that water intrusion had led the wooden beams to rot. He explained that he had a few options to restore the stability of the crawl space and ensure that water intrusion would be a thing of the past. Daniel laid out his plan and started by recommending our SmartJack Crawl Space Stabilizers to address the sloping. He informed the homeowner that our SmartJack is an adjustable supplemental support beam specifically used for sagging crawl spaces, as it can often lift failing floor joists or beams, restoring them to their original position. Made with strong, corrosion-resistant, galvanized steel, these beams do not develop rust, and remain adjustable for years should you need to perform future adjustments. Next, he recommended using our Crawl Space Waterproofing systems, a combination of crawl space vapor barrier, crawl space drainage matting, and our SmartPipe drain. Daniel explained that these products work hand in hand to eliminate unwanted water from the space and provide a healthy, clean, and insulated crawl space. The homeowner agreed and work began a few weeks later.

Our Foreman, Jeromy, and his team began the process by installing 14 of our SmartJacks throughout the crawl space of the home. Next, they laid 776 sqft of drainage matting and another 1040 sqft of vapor barrier throughout the space. Now that the job is completed our homeowner is elated to know he no longer needs to worry about the structural integrity of his home!

A homeowner from Saint Paul, MN, was noticing dangerous trip hazards forming beyond a set of concrete stairs, leading to her backyard. Not wanting anyone to take an unnecessary tumble, she decided to get in touch with a company to fix the issue. On the recommendation of a family member, she got in touch with American Waterworks, set up her FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Canon T, headed out to the home to assess the concrete.

Once his inspection concluded, Canon informed the homeowner that we could remedy the sinking concrete by using our PolyLevel. Canon explained that PolyLevel is a dense, polyurethane foam that expands when injected beneath sinking concrete, filling voids left by soil erosion and slowly lifting the slab back into place. He went on to say that we finish all of our lifts with the application of our NexusPro. A silicone-based sealant, NexusPro gets applied to the cracks and joints of the concrete and works to prevent unwanted debris or moisture from getting beneath the slab, potentially comprising the lift. The homeowner liked the sound of the plan, and the job was scheduled to be completed a month or so later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Jordan, and his team were able to complete the lift and seal with no complications. Now our homeowner can breathe easy knowing her trip hazards have been fixed!

Wet Basement Restored in West Saint Paul, MN

Mardele W. in West Saint Paul, MN was suffering from water leaking into her basement and she was tired of cleaning up the mess every time there was a heavy rain. She decided to contact American Waterworks for a FREE estimate, so one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, went to her home to inspect her basement and design a solution. Jeremy worked closely with Mardele to create the best waterproofing plan for her and her basement. She enjoyed working with Jeremy and was pleased with his proposal, so she scheduled to have our waterproofing system installed.

Our Foreman, Austin Lucas, and his crew installed a full perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system around her basement floor. They also installed a SuperSump sump pump in the corner of the basement. The drainage system now properly guides water to the sump pump, and from there the sump pump pushes the water through the discharge line and expels it from the home. Our drainage system is backed by a lifetime guarantee, so Mardele has peace of mind that her basement will always be protected from water. Douglas P. in Saint Paul, MN had a crack in his foundation where water was leaking in. Any time he experienced a heavy rain, water would start to pool in his basement with no where to go. He started looking for a waterproofing company, and he found American Waterworks on Home Advisor.

He got in touch with us to receive a FREE estimate, so we sent one of our Design Specialists, Chad Johnson, to his home to inspect his basement and design a solution. While Chad was there, he noticed that the support beams in his basement had started to sag, which was causing the cracks in the foundation. Chad recommended that we install SmartJacks as well as our waterproofing system to ensure that his basement would permanently be a dry space. Douglas agreed, and he liked the proposal that Chad presented, so he decided to move forward with the installation.

Our production team installed the SmartJacks first to hold up the beams and provide permanent support. Then, they removed the concrete around the perimeter of the basement and installed the WaterGuard drainage system and SuperSump sump pump. Lastly, they installed the CleanSpace vapor barrier to keep mold and moisture out of the basement. Water is now guided through the drainage system and led to the sump pump, where it is then discharged from the home. The combination of these foundation repair and waterproofing products have created a dry, clean, and stable basement for Douglas. Both our waterproofing and foundation repair products are backed by warranties, so Douglas can rest easy knowing he chose a reliable, long-term solution.

SuperSump Sump Pump Installation in Saint Paul, MN

Jen from Saint Paul, MN was constantly having excess water build-up. The excess water build-up was damaging not only her floor but the appliances around her basement. Jen then contacted the Appointment Center here at American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE estimate and inspection. Our Design Specialist then attended Jen's property and began a full home inspection to give a proper diagnosis and solution to help Jen resolve the issues she is experiencing. Our Design Specialist proposed to Jen our SuperSump Sump Pump System along with our WaterGaurd discharge line. The SuperSump Sump Pump is designed to keep basements dry for long periods by discharging the water out and away from the home in an efficient and timely matter. Jen agreed with the proposal and scheduled the date of installation.

Our Foreman and his production crew then proceeded with the project by breaking the concrete located in the lowest part of the basement. Once the hole is dug the production crew then installs the WaterGuard discharge line along the wall where the SuperSump is located. The SuperSump sump pump is then installed and connected to the WaterGuard. When the production crew completes the installation process they replace the soil with engineer fill around the sump pump, to prevent sediment from entering the filtration system, and place concrete around the sump pump to give a finishing, neat look. Jen was happy with the project and is now worry-free about the excessive water build-up!

Unstable Basement Gets Fixed in Elizabeth, MN

Paul from Elizabeth, MN was beginning to notice that his floor was showing signs of sloping. Paul knew that the space below could potentially be to blame and wanted to get ahead of the issue before it had the chance to worsen over time. After doing some research he came across our website and decided to give us a call. We set Paul up with our FREE estimate, entitling him to a free, no-obligation estimate into the root of the issue. A few weeks later our Design Specialist, Evan N, headed out to the property to complete his walkthrough. Upon inspection, Evan found that Paul's assumptions were correct. The beams below the sloping floor were showing signs of bowing, resulting in the uneven floor above. Once Evan had diagnosed the issue, he was ready to make his recommendations. Evan wanted to use our SmartJack support system to address the bowing. He explained that the SmartJack is comprised of steel beams used to provide solid support for sagging and undersized beams, restoring stability and straightness to sagging floor joists. He finished by saying. Once installed in your crawl space, SmartJack support posts can correct problems such as sloping and overly springy floors, interior wall cracks, and out-of-level door frames. Because of its design, the SmartJack can be adjusted over time to provide additional straightening and leveling action if necessary. Paul agreed with the recommendation and work began shortly after.

Our Foreman, Zach, and his team worked hard to install the beams in the basement of the home. When they completed the project they had installed 2 of our SmartJacks and a supplemental beam. Now Paul can enjoy his space without worrying about uneven floors! If you're experiencing a similar issue to Paul, click HERE to claim your FREE estimate now.

Leaky Fireplace Gets Transformed in Roseville, MN

A homeowner from Roseville, MN got in touch with us when he began to notice water pooling on his basement floor in front of his fireplace. He was afraid that if he didn't get the issue properly addressed he could run the risk of the problem worsening and being harder to fix later down the road. When he called our office, we set him up with our FREE, no-obligation estimateA few weeks later our Design Specialist, Jesse, was scheduled to head out to the appointment.

At the time of the estimate inspection, Jesse took a deep dive into the issue and what could be causing it. When the estimate was completed, Jesse was ready to make his recommendations as to how American Waterworks could help fix the issue. Jesse recommended using our WaterGuard system. He explained that our WaterGuard French drainage system is an award-winning, patented below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. He went on to say that this system is popular because of its resistance to clogs, easy-to-access ports, and ability to collect water leaking from basement walls. The homeowner agreed and work began shortly after.

On the day of the project installation, our Foreman, Chris, and his team arrived at the property and began by removing the concrete at the base of the fireplace. Next, they removed the concrete along the wall leading to the sump pump so the water being caught by the WaterGuard could have access to a disposal site. Then, they laid the drainage stone. Next, they placed the WaterGuard and attached it to the sump. Finally, the crew covered the drain in a layer of concrete to keep the drain from moving.

Once the job was complete the homeowner was happy to know he could go back to enjoying his basement without water intrusion worries! If you're facing a similar issue, or have concerns about water in your basement, click HERE to take the first steps towards reclaiming your space!

Sagging Floor Gets Stabilized in Saint Paul, MN

A homeowner from Saint Paul, MN got in contact with us when he began to notice the floor above his basement beginning to sag. Not wanting to wait for the problem to worsen, he began to research companies that could help. When he came across American Waterworks he decided to give us a call. We set him up with our FREE, no-obligation estimate. A few weeks later our Design. Specialist, Mac, stopped out at the home to complete his inspection.

After his inspection concluded, Mac recommended the installation of our SmartJacks to address the sagging floor. Mac explained to the homeowner that our SmartJack system provides solid support for sagging and undersized beams, restoring stability and straightness to sagging floors. He went on to say that because of its design, SmartJacks can be adjusted over time to provide additional straightening and leveling action if necessary. The homeowner agreed and work began a few weeks later.

Our Foreman, Jesus, and his team began the project by verifying Mac's measurements for the SmartJacks. Next, they began by removing concrete below where the SmartJack would go. This way the jack has solid ground to be attached to. Then, the team inserted the jack and tightened it, and repeated the process with 14 SmartJack's through the space. Finally, the crew covered the base of each SmartJack in cement to further stabilize them and ensure no movement would happen.

Once the job was done our customer was thrilled to know he no longer had to worry about sagging floors!

New Auburn, WI, Concrete Lifted and Leveled

A homeowner in New Auburn, WI, noticed the cracks on their garage floor were beginning to worsen. Knowing they needed an expert; the homeowner asked their friends and family for recommendations. A majority of them recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so they took a closer look at our company. After reading all the wonderful reviews, the homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate. Chuck, one of our Design Specialists, was assigned to the project and made his way to the home. Upon arrival, Chuck introduced himself to the homeowner and began evaluating the concrete Following his evaluation, Chuck determined the issues were caused by the garage floor and sidewalk sinking into the ground. To stop the issues from worsening, Chuck recommended lifting and leveling the concrete. After some discussion, the homeowner agreed with Chuck's recommendation and production began. Our Foreman, Dylon, and his crew were assigned to complete the lifting and leveling project. To start, the crew installed the PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam injection solution. The crew begins by strategically drilling small 5/8" holes into the slab. Next, the crew installs injection ports in the small holes. Then, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill the voids and raise the slab. Finally, the crew sealed the holes and control joints. After the walkways were lifted, the crew shifted their focus to replacing the joints on the sidewalk. To replace these joints, the crew used the NexusPro Joint Sealant, a silicone-based sealant. First, the crew drilled, smoothed, and prepared the cracks with a non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro sealant is inserted into the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a uniform, finished appearance. After all the products were installed, the crew left the yard as clean as they arrived. The homeowner was delighted with the work completed by the crew. Basement Issues Resolved in Roseville, MN

In Roseville, MN a homeowner was growing concerned about the water damage in his basement that had started during the winter months. He wasn't initially worried, but as time went on and the water kept coming, he knew it was time to contact someone that could help. He came across the American Waterworks website during his research and our FREE estimate services caught his eye. He decided to give us a call and get some professional insight on the situation. We decided to send one of our Design Specialists, Ryan Kennedy, to the home for inspection. Ryan noted the water damage coming into the basement and asked the homeowner some questions for more details. Ryan figured out that considering this started during winter, it likely had to do with the discharge line being frozen. When this happens, the water has nowhere to go outside, which causes it to leak out in the basement. It was decided that WaterGuard, a perimeter drain system to fix the current water issues, and IceGuard, an attachment that would help with water flow in winter, should be installed. The homeowner agreed and the preparations began. Foreman Jeremiah Fischer and his crew arrived at the home to carry out the installation of the products. They started by jackhammering certain areas of the basement floor and layered drainage stone down. Next, they installed the WaterGuard system followed by another layer of stone and protective concrete on top to keep everything in place. Finally, they attached IceGuard, made with openings allowing water to continue moving outside of the basement, on the outside discharge line. The homeowner was pleased with the results and happy to know that next winter the basement would be protected from water.

Smoothed Out Sidewalk in New Brighton, MN

A homeowner in New Brighton, MN had concerns about the sidewalk leading up to his front door. One of the areas had sunken extremely low, resulting in a height gap that could easily be a tripping hazard for himself and others visiting the home. He decided to take action and find a company that could help him out by restoring the area to its smooth state again. Coming across the American Waterworks website in his search, he was pleased with the positive reviews that were scattered throughout our past job results. He scheduled a FREE no-obligation estimate with us and we sent over one of our expert Design Specialists, Canon Tweed. Canon took a look at the area of concern and talked things over with the homeowner. He explained that our PolyLevel product would easily help the area out by slowly lifting the sunken sidewalk back up to the intended height. The homeowner agreed and was happy that we had a solution to offer him. When Foreman Ryan Trogstad and his crew arrived at the site, they first began the process by drilling small holes into the slab. Next, they inserted ports through the holes to reach the empty space below and filled it with the PolyLevel, which immediately raised the sunken slab. Finally, the crew filled in the holes and cleaned the area of the leftover debris and their materials. The homeowner was so happy to have the problem gone and that there no longer was a safety hazard on the sidewalk.

Little Canada, MN Sidewalk Lifted

A business in Little Canada, MN was worried about their concrete sidewalk after one of their employees informed them that he had tripped over it. They knew something needed to be done about it before it happened to another person. They wanted to find a company that was in Minnesota and could help them with this problem. One of the first results that showed up was the American Waterworks company and they decided to learn more by signing up for a FREE no-obligation estimate with us. We sent over Design Specialist Canon Tweed to the business to talk over a plan, recommendations, and expectations for the project. Canon informed them that the reason the sidewalk had sunken so much was likely due to soil issues. He also explained that over time when the soil's load-bearing capacity is exceeded, the soil compacts and settles. The business was confident in Canon's knowledge and agreed to his plans for installations and repairs. The plans were approved and given to Foreman Troy Johnson and his crew who headed out to the site for installations. They began the project by drilling small holes throughout the sidewalk and inserting ports through the holes to reach the empty space below. Our PolyLevel foam was then injected to fill in the space and carefully lift the slabs back up. Next, they filled in the holes and joints with NexusPro joint sealant and some native sand on top for a clean finish. Finally, the crew cleaned up the area and their materials before heading out. The business was excited with the results and glad they gave us a call for this project.

St. Paul, MN, Basement Waterproofing

A homeowner in St. Paul, MN, grew distressed after discovering their basement was flooding. Knowing they needed professional assistance as soon as possible, the homeowner looked for the best waterproofing company near them. While looking through several companies, the homeowner came across our social media. Impressed by our previous projects and team culture, the homeowners knew we were the best company for them. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Nick. Nick arrived at the home and introduced himself to the homeowner. Next, Nick began his detailed inspection of the basement. Nick found that the entire basement required waterproofing and the sump pump needed to be replaced. After he completed the walk-through, Nick proposed his solution to the homeowners to which they agreed. Once they agreed upon a solution, the plans were directed to the office, then to our Foreman, Jose. After Jose and his crew received the plans, they traveled to the home to begin the project. Once they arrived, the crew started by installing the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew could shift their focus to removing the old sump pump and replacing it with the TripleSafe Sump Pump. The crew installed a feedline across the floor to connect the TripleSafe Sump Pump to the new WaterGuard. Once the TripleSafe Sump Pump was properly connected, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with our crew's work ethic and excellent work. A New Brighton, MN, homeowner was dealing with several areas of sunken and uneven concrete surrounding his home. The homeowner knew that any resale of the home would be stalled by this uneven concrete and wanted to know what he could do to fix the issue. He began searching concrete repair MN and found several companies, one of which was American Waterworks. He signed up for his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, Kyle P, one of our Design Specialists, headed out to the home to see what could be done.

Once Kyle finished his walkthrough, he met with the homeowner to discuss the next steps. Kyle began by informing the homeowners that concrete can sink for various reasons but that American Waterworks could help with using our PolyLevel. PolyLevel is a dense polyurethane foam that expands when it's injected beneath concrete surfaces. It works to fill voids left by soil erosion and, in the process, slowly lifts sunken concrete back to its desired position. Kyle said he was recommending a safeguard for the newly lifted concrete, which was our NexusPro. NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant that gets applied directly to the cracks and joints in the concrete and prevents unwanted water from getting below the concrete to the vulnerable soil below. The homeowner agreed with the proposed work and the job was scheduled for several weeks later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Sam K, and his team arrived bright and early at the property. They began by verifying the measurement that Kyle had left for them and then got to work drilling holes into the sunken concrete slabs. Next, they injected the PolyLevel into the holes they had drilled and injected the PolyLevel into the holes, being sure to closely monitor the lifting and leveling process to ensure no over or under-corrections were made. When the lift had been completed, they got to work sealing all of the cracks and joints with our NexusPro. When the job had been completed, our customer was thrilled to know that the value of his concrete had been restored!

Uneven Concrete Walkway Gets Lifted in Mounds View, MN

A homeowner from Mounds View, MN, was suffering from a sinking concrete apron in front of his driveway. Because the concrete had sunken so much, it was a hard spot to navigate a car over. The homeowner would have to step on the gas to get over the hump and then slam on the brakes to ensure he wouldn't hit the far side of the garage. The homeowner had no recollection of a business in the area dealing with concrete garage floor aprons, so he took to the internet. After scouring the internet, he found our website. Impressed with our concrete before and after pictures, he scheduled his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, Gary S, one of our Design Specialists in the area, headed out to the home.

Gary got right to work inspecting each concrete slab. He noted several cracks running along the driveway, as well as a sunken area of concrete on the homeowner's walkway. When he finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to let him know he believed we could help the issue with the help of our PolyLevel injection. He explained that PolyLevel is a dense polyurethane foam that expands when it's injected beneath sinking concrete slabs. It works to fill voids left by soil erosion and in the process, lifts concrete back to it's desired location. Gary went on to say that, to safeguard the newly lifted concrete, he was recommending our NexusPro. This silicone-based sealant gets applied to all cracks and joints in the newly lifted concrete and serves as a barrier against unwanted water intrusion or harsh weather conditions. The homeowner liked the simple fix and safeguard measures, and decided to schedule her project for several weeks later.

On the day of the installation, Sam K, our Foreman, led his team through a clean lift, level, and seal. He began the process by verifying the measurements Gary had left behind. Then, he strategically drilled holes into the sunken slab. Then, he injected the PolyLevel into the holes and closely monitored the lifting and leveling process to ensure no over or under-correction was made. Finally, they applied the NexusPro over the joints of the lifted concrete. Now, our customer can effortlessly enter his garage without fear of hitting the back wall!

Unstable Foundation Fixed in Saint Paul, MN

A homeowner from Saint Paul, MN, had been keeping an eye on his basement walls for some time now. All of the walls had shown signs of cracking, an indicator of wall failure. The homeowner was growing more and more concerned about the outlook for his home, so he decided to seek help from a company specializing in foundation repair in Saint Paul, MN. On the recommendation of a friend, he scheduled his FREE estimate with American Waterworks, and several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Derek V, headed out to the home.

Derek got right to work assessing the basement walls. When he finished, he was ready to make his recommendations for the home. Derek met with the homeowner and explained that he was seeing issues with his wall because foundation walls are designed to withstand loads from above, not from the side. When side pressure on the walls exceeds their ability to withstand the force, they begin to crack or bow inwards. For this reason, Derek recommended our GeoLock wall anchors. He explained that wall anchors can counteract soil pressure by anchoring the failing wall to stable, undisturbed soil beyond the home foundation. He finished by stating that as the home continues to settle over time, the anchors can be tightened to ensure the foundation stays intact. The homeowner liked Derek's recommendation so much that he signed on the spot!

The day of the project eventually rolled around, and our team, led by their Foreman, Artruo M, arrived bright and early at home. They began the process by verifying the areas of work that Derek had specified. Next, they strategically measured the distance each anchor would need to be apart from one another. Then, part of the team began to excavate deep holes outside of the home for the exterior portion of the anchor, while the team inside began drilling a hole for a long metal rod to be threaded through. Once the rod is placed, the anchors are tightened on both ends. When the project was over, Arturo and his team had flawlessly installed 7 of our GeoLock anchors throughout the basement of the home. Now our customer is thrilled that his foundation worries are in the past!
