A homeowner in Ventura, IA, discovered their wood was rotting along their floorboards. Unsure of the cause, the homeowner took a closer look into "rotting wood causes". Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Brady. Brady promptly arrived at the home and thoroughly inspected the sump pump and basement. During his detailed evaluation, Brady confirmed the basement was suffering from water intrusion. To prevent the water intrusion from continuing, the homeowner recommended installing waterproofing products throughout the basement. Knowing this would prevent further issues, the homeowner decided to go ahead with Brady's proposal. Once the homeowner gave their stamp of approval, Brady passed the proposal to our Logistics team to build and schedule the project. Once the project details were finalized, it was scheduled for the following month. When the project date arrived, our Foreman, Jeromy, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Jeromy and his crew began by installing WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew could shift their focus to removing the old sump pump and replacing it with the TripleSafe. The crew installed a feedline across the floor to connect the TripleSafe to the new WaterGuard. Next, the crew shifted to installing CleanSpace on the basement walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that prevents humidity and mold growth. The crew installs CleanSpace by mechanically attaching them to the basement walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners. After all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was given peace of mind knowing their basement was dry and secure. Our Foreman, Baltazar Topia, and his production team started the installation by digging 13 holes outside of the home and inserting a long, metal rod from the inside foundation to each hole outside. Our crew tightened and screwed on a GeoLock Wall Anchor on the end of each rod, allowing the walls to pull back and straighten into its normal position. To complete the installation, Baltazar and his crew backfilled the holes and replaced the soil. Roger and Kathryn were very pleased with the outcome and were grateful we were able to save the stability of their home!
