Sinking Concrete Patio Lifted in La Farge, WI Sinking Concrete Patio Lifted in La Farge, WI

A homeowner from La Farge, WI, had noticed over the years that the concrete patio attached to the back of her home had been sinking. Year after year, she watched as the concrete slipped further away from the back patio door. She didn't want the issue to persist, so she decided to search for concrete repair companies near La Farge, WI. When she saw one of our printed ads in a local newspaper, she knew she had to call to claim her FREE estimate and quote. Several weeks later, Ross J, one of our Design Specialists, headed out to the home.

Ross got right to work assessing the concrete. When he finished, he informed the homeowner that we could fix the sinking concrete with the help of our PolyLevel. Ross stated that our PolyLevel is a dense polyurethane foam that expands when it's injected beneath sinking concrete. It works to fill voids left by soil erosion and, in the process, lifts the concrete back into its original position. The homeowner loved the idea of a non-invasive installation, so he scheduled his job for several weeks later.

Our Foreman, Sam K, and his team were able to complete the lift and level with no issues. Now, our customer can enjoy her back patio without worries that her concrete is in trouble.

A homeowner in Ontario, WI, had noticed that there was a large gap forming between her driveway and some adjoining concrete stairs. She suspected that if she let the problem get worse, she could have a dangerous tripping hazard on her hands. She decided to begin the search for a company that could help with the issue. She had noticed lots of American Waterworks vehicles in her town, and yard signs around her neighborhood, so she decided to call us and take advantage of our  FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Will R, headed out to the home.

After Will completed his inspection, he informed the homeowner that she was right to call us, and that addressing concrete issues sooner rather than later is always going to be more beneficial. He let her know that American Waterworks could lift the sunken concrete using our PolyLevel. PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam that expands when injected below concrete slabs, filling voids left by soil erosion and slowly lifting the concrete back into place. Will went on to say that we finish all of lifting projects by applying our NexusPro. A silicone-based sealant, NexusPro gets applied to cracks and joints in the concrete and works to prevent any moisture from getting below the slab and saturating the soil below. The homeowner agreed and work began weeks later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Sam K, was able to lift and seal the concrete to the homeowner's liking. Now, our customer can have peace of mind in her concrete!

High Levels of Radon in Stoddard, WI

Darlene D. in Stoddard, WI had learned about the dangers of being exposed to high levels of radon and decided that it was time she had her home tested. She contacted American Waterworks to do a free radon test and mitigation consultation. The results showed that she did in fact have high levels of radon gas that could be harmful to her health. She worked with our Design Specialist, Mac Cole, on how to mitigate the high levels of radon.

Our Foreman, Dakota Merchlewitz, drilled a hole through the corner of the basement floor to create a suction point. He then installed a PVC pipe that connects to a fan which ensures proper ventilation away from the home. The process of installing the radon mitigation system only took a couple of hours. Darlene can now take comfort in the fact that her home is well protected against harmful levels of radon.

High Levels of Radon Found in Chaseburg, WI

Tim D. learned about the negative effects that radon gas can have on people's health and that it is commonly found in homes. Radon is the #1 cause of lung cancer for non-smokers and kills over 21,000 people each year. He realized that their home had never been tested so he immediately started looking for a contractor to test his home. After doing some research, he came across American Waterworks and saw that radon testing and mitigation is one of our specialties. He contacted us and shortly after, we sent a Design Specialist to his home to start the test.

48 hours later, that Design Specialist returned to read the results of the test. Their reading was above 4 pCi/l, which is the level at which the EPA recommends the homeowner to take action. Once Tim discovered that he and family have been exposed to high levels of radon, he wanted to get the radon mitigation system installed as soon as possible to protect their health.

Our radon mitigation specialists drilled a hole through the concrete in the basement to create a suction point for the gas. Then, a PVC pipe is inserted which goes up through the house and exits the home through the roof. A fan is installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is being pushed away from the home. The installation took one day to complete, and now Tim can rest easy knowing that he took the right measures to protect his family and himself.

Water Leaking into Basement in Coon Valley, WI

Rod H. in Coon Valley, WI was experiencing water leaking into his basement because his sump pump had failed. He started researching waterproofing contractors in the area and he found American Waterworks. After learning that we’ve been waterproofing homes for almost 30 years, he felt confident that we could solve his wet basement problem. He called us to receive a free estimate, so we sent a Design Specialist to his home to inspect the basement and design the right solution. After meeting with Rod, our Design Specialist determined that the right course of action was to have our WaterGuard drainage system and a new sump pump installed. Rod was impressed with the quality of our products and the thorough plan to waterproof his basement, so he scheduled the installation.

Our production team removed a thin line of concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor and a circle in the corner of the room for the sump pump. They laid the WaterGuard in the trench they created, installed the SuperSump sump pump, and then replaced the concrete. Lastly, they ran a pipe from the sump pump, out to the yard. This is called a discharge line and it is where the water exits the home. He has been able to enjoy a dry, healthier basement since he had our waterproofing system installed. He is glad he chose to protect his basement for the long-term!

Not knowing where to begin, the homeowner simply researched "foundation companies near me". The first result was us; American Waterworks and the homeowner was intrigued by our five-star rating. After looking further into our services, the homeowner decided that they were going to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the details were finalized, we sent Dustin, one of our Design Specialists, to complete the estimate. Dustin arrived at the home and began his inspection of the foundation and crawl space. Once he completed the inspection, Dustin determined that the crawl space was a major concern. Dustin recommended that the crawl space be encapsulated, and the homeowners agreed. Once they received approval, our Forman, Raul and his crew made their way to the home. Once they arrived, the crew began by clearing out the debris in the crawl space. After the space was cleared, the crew could start the SmartJack installation. SmartJacks provides solid support for sagging and undersized beams, restoring stability and straightness to sagging floor joists in crawl spaces. SmartJacks provides a permanent solution to your foundation floor issues. Once the SmartJacks were secured, the crew shifted their focus to laying down the Drainage Matting on the crawl space floor. CarbonArmor Solves Wall Issues in Stoddard, WI

A homeowner in Stoddard, WI, saw it was time to schedule their annual maintenance appointment with us. Soon after this realization, the homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their appointment. Once the details were finalized, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of one of our Service Technicians, Kyle. Upon arrival, Kyle introduced himself to the homeowners and began the maintenance check. During his inspection, Kyle discovered that one of the foundation walls was cracking. Kyle warned the homeowners about his discovery and suggested that they permanently stabilize the wall. Trusting our judgment, the homeowners agreed, and the production preparations began. Our Foreman, Raul, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the stabilization process. The crew installed the seven CarbonArmor strips on the north foundation wall. Struggling Foundation Saved in Viroqua, WI

A homeowner in Viroqua, WI, knew they desperately needed a professional to inspect their foundation. While thinking of companies, the homeowner remembered seeing one of our vehicles in the area. The homeowner went to our website and saw that we offer a large variety of services. Impressed by our services, the homeowner was convinced enough to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate appointment was set, Chuck, one of our Design Specialists, traveled to the home to begin the estimation. Once Chuck completed the estimate, he found foundation was rapidly falling and needed to be stabilized. Chuck suggested stabilizing the struggling walls with GeoLock anchors, our innovative wall system, and PowerBraces, our wall repair system. After weighing all their options, the homeowner agreed with Chuck's plan. The plans were sent to our Foreman, Luis, and his crew, so they could start production preparations for this large job. When they arrived, the crew installed 20 GeoLock anchors on the north and south foundation walls. The crew installs the GeoLocks by digging a section of the ground to place the first GeoLock anchor. Once the GeoLock is in place, another anchor is attached to the interior wall. Both GeoLocks are connected by a small, steel pole direct through the ground. Then, the GeoLocks are secured, and the soil is put back on top of the ground. Once the GeoLocks were in place, the crew installed four PowerBraces on the east foundation wall. PowerBraces is a foundation wall repair system, designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten them over time. First, the crew begins by cutting the wall braces. Next, the PowerBraces are secured into the floor joist hardware and fine-tuned into the correct position. Then, the PowerBraces are attached to the floor with a special, bolt-in-place bracket. Once all the products were installed, the homeowner asked that the tightening kit be included for the PowerBraces and GeoLocks. This will allow the homeowner to straighten their walls over time. When the job was complete, the crew put the basement back together and left the home. The homeowners were beyond grateful for the excellent job completed by the crew.  If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!

Sinking Concrete Problem Solved in Coon Valley, WI

In Coon Valley, WI a homeowner was annoyed with the large bump that had formed in between his driveway apron and the garage floor. Not wanting the problem to get worse or stay the same, he knew it was time to research and find a solution. Our FREE no-obligation estimates were interesting to him because he liked the idea of learning more about the products and our process before agreeing to any plans. He signed up for his own estimate and was later greeted by one of our Design Specialists, Ross Johnson. Ross inspected the concrete and then created a detailed plan specifically for the driveway that involved installing two of our quality products: PolyLevel and NexusPro. The homeowner agreed to the plans and once they were approved, we sent over our Foreman, Domanik Adams, and his crew to the site. They began the project by drilling small pencil-sized holes in the driveway and placing ports through them to reach below the concrete's surface. The PolyLevel foam was then injected in the ports until it filled the space below and the slabs were lifted back up to be level with the driveway. Next, the holes were all filled with the NexusPro sealant as well as the joints in between each slab. Some native sand was placed on top of the sealant for a smooth final look and the homeowner was very happy to have a bump-free driveway again.
