Faith Lutheran Church of Wabasha in Minnesota had a sunken and uneven sidewalk. They were concerned that people would trip and fall because of it, so they started to look into concrete repair contractors. They saw a commercial for American Waterworks and they were interested in learning more about our concrete repair option. They contacted us for a FREE estimate, so we sent one of our Design Specialists, Rick Weber, to the Church to provide them with a solution. They were happy to learn that our PolyLevel concrete repair solution is durable, faster and more affordable than traditional concrete repair. They decided this was the best option and felt that our company was a good fit for them, so they set a date for the installation.

Our PolyLevel experts, Brandon Wiskow and Jared Wroblewski, drilled penny-sized holes into the concrete slabs where the concrete needed to be raised. They injected the PolyLevel foam into the holes in the concrete until the slabs were raised and level. Lastly, they filled the cracks in the concrete with our Nexus Pro sealant. The process only took a couple hours, and now the Church will be able to enjoy level concrete for years to come!

A homeowner in Wabasha, MN, noticed a funky smell around their home. Unsure of the cause of the smell, the homeowner began to do some investigating. Upon further investigation, the homeowner discovered the scent was strongest in the basement. Having a hunch this may lead to a bigger issue, the homeowner wanted to have a basement expert inspect their home. Knowing there were many options around them, the homeowner decided to research the 'best basement repair near Wabasha, MN'. The company at the top of the list was us, American Waterworks. The homeowner decided to look closer into our website and was immediately impressed. After seeing we offer FREE estimates, they decided to give us a try. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Mike, to inspect the basement further. Mike performed the estimate and discovered the scent was coming from the crawl space. Additionally, Mike alerted the homeowner that their home had high radon levels. Mike recommended encapsulating the crawl space and a radon mitigation system be placed. The homeowners agreed with Mike's recommendations, and the plans were passed on to the assigned crew. Our Foreman, Jesus, and his crew arrived at the home to begin production. First, the crew cleaned the debris out of the crawl space. Once the crawl space was cleared, the crew could install the CleanSpace and Drainage Matting. Then, the crew shifted their focus to installing the Radon Mitigation System outside the home. Once the Radon Mitigation System was properly installed, the crew was able to clean up their job site and leave the home. The homeowners were relieved to know the musty smell was gone and the radon threat was eliminated. American Waterworks is happy to make another home safe.

Failing Foundation in Wabasha, MN Failing Foundation in Wabasha, MN

A homeowner in Wabasha, MN, was doing some landscaping in her yard when he noticed a crack running up her foundation. She was concerned because he didn't know if the crack continued below the foundation. He spoke with neighbors about the problem and was directed to American Waterworks. He signed up for his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Michel, headed out to the home to inspect the problem. Once he completed his inspection, he explained to the homeowner that her foundation was settling, which American Waterworks could help with. He went on to say that a failing foundation that is left unaddressed won't get better over time. Michel wanted to use our Helical Piers to stabilize and lift the foundation. Michel explained that our helical piers are the premier choice to lift the foundation back to its original position. These piers are mechanically advanced into the soil using small construction equipment or hand equipment. As they are installed to appropriate depths and capacities, they prevent any future settlement issues. The homeowner agreed with the proposal, and the foundation repair project was scheduled to be completed a few weeks later.

Our Foreman, Luis, and his crew installed 3 of our helical piers on the failing side of the home. Now our homeowner can resume her daily life without worrying about her home's foundation!

Cracking Wall Gets Addressed in Wabasha, MN

A homeowner in Wabasha, MN, got in touch with us when her friends recommended her to us. She had been dealing with a failing wall for a few years and was growing more uneasy about what that could spell for her home. She decided to take advantage of her FREE estimate and a few weeks later our Design Specialist, Michel, headed out to her home to see what we could do.

Once his inspection was completed, Michel met with the homeowner to go over his findings and make his recommendations. Michel informed her that her foundation was showing signs of settling, which is common in older homes. He assured her she made the right choice by contacting us. He went on to say that he believed the wall could be stabilized with the use of our helical piers, steel piers with a set of helical blades on the lower section. These piers are mechanically advanced into the soil using small construction equipment or hand equipment. As they are installed to appropriate depths and capacities, they prevent any future settlement issues. The homeowner agreed with Michel's recommendations; the project was scheduled to begin a few weeks later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Luis, and his team began by excavating the soil away from the wall in question. Next, Luis used a piece of construction equipment to mechanically "screw" the piers into the soil. Once at proper depth and capacity, heavy-duty steel foundation brackets are positioned below and against the foundation footing. The weight of the home is then transferred through the helical piers to deep, competent soils. Then lifting the home back towards its original position is attempted. To finish the project, all the displaced soil is carefully replaced. Luis and his team installed 3 of our helical piers.

Now our homeowner can rest easily knowing her foundation issues have been conquered!

Radon and Odor Risk Eliminated in Wabasha, MN

A homeowner in Wabasha, MN, noticed a foul odor around their home. Uncertain where the scent was coming from, the homeowner hunted their home for the source. After some investigating, the homeowner determined that the smell was coming from their basement. From this point, the homeowner knew that a professional to step in and look further. The homeowner began looking for the best basement service company near them. One of the first companies to show up on their hunt was us, American Waterworks. After seeing our stellar reviews, the homeowner looked into all the services we offer. The homeowner was impressed by our service lineup and decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate details were finalized, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of Mike, one of our Design Specialists. Upon Mike's arrival, he introduced himself to the homeowners and began the evaluation of the basement. Following his evaluation, Mike found that the smell was coming from the crawl space. Additionally, Mike discovered that the radon levels in the home were alarmingly high. Mike alerted the homeowners of the issues he discovered in their home and how they could cause long-term damage. After warning the homeowner, Mike also provided them with a solution that would solve all their issues. The homeowners agreed and production began. First, the crew cleaned out the debris in the crawl space. Then, they shifted their focus to installing the Drainage Matting on the crawl space floor. The Drainage Matting keeps your crawl space protected, and water directed into your drainage system. Next, the crew installed CleanSpace on the crawl space floors and walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that is ideal for unfinished basement walls. Once the crawl space was encapsulated, the crew shifted their focus to installing the Radon Mitigation System outside their home. The Radon Mitigation System will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health agencies. After the system was installed, the crew was able to clean up the site and leave the home. The homeowners were thankful for the wonderful job completed by the crew.
