Job Stories From Waseca County, MN
Water Leaking into Basement Through Cracked Foundation in New Richland, MN

Andy S. in New Richland, MN had been suffering from a wet basement and he wasn't sure where the water was coming from. After further investigation, he realized the water was seeping through cracks in his foundation walls. He found American Waterworks while visiting a local home show and was thrilled to learn that we are waterproofing and foundation repair experts. One of our Design Specialists, Shane Nephew, went to Andy's home and provided him with a FREE estimate. Andy was impressed with how detailed Shane's plan was, so he decided to move forward with the installation.

Our production crew installed our WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter of the basement floor and a TripleSafe sump pump in the corner. The WaterGuard now properly drains water to the sump pump, and from there the water is expelled from the home through the discharge line. Then, we installed wall anchors along the two cracked foundation walls, which permanently stabilized them. Having the wall anchors installed also helps to keep Andy's basement dry because as the anchors tightened, the cracks in the walls closed. The installation took about two days to complete, but now Andy's peace of mind has been restored! He has been happy to report that his basement has been dry ever since the installation!

Sunken Concrete Entryway Raised with PolyLevel in Janesville, MN

Jerry M. in Janesville, MN was frustrated that his concrete entryway to his home had sunken a couple of inches. The concrete had cracked and created a trip hazard for him and his family. He decided to call American Waterworks to receive a free estimate. One of our Design Specialists went onsite to inspect his concrete and develop a personalized plan to lift and level it. Jerry was impressed to learn that our polymer foam solution was quick, durable and minimally invasive, so he scheduled the project.

Our concrete repair experts drilled small holes into the concrete to inject the polymer foam, called PolyLevel. They injected the foam until the slab was raised back to its original position. Then, they sealed the cracks in the concrete with our NexusPro joint sealant, which protects the concrete and gives it a nice, finished look. Jerry was happy with how the project turned out, and he is glad he can now enjoy safe, beautiful concrete for years to come!

Waseca Home Saved by American Waterworks Waterproofing Products

Brenda L. of Waseca, MN had water seepage problems in her basement and needed to come up with a solution. After doing some research on American Waterworks, Brenda gave us a call to schedule her Free Estimate. Our Design Specialist, Dylan Woitas, went out to her home to inspect the problem. After a thorough and detailed diagnosis, Brenda was comfortable with Dylan’s proposal, so she went ahead and scheduled her installation date.

Our foreman, Austin Lucas, and his production crew began the installation by cutting out the concrete around the perimeter of the floor forming a waterway trench, as well as a hole in the corner for our SuperPump Plus M53, which is designed to help keep the basement dry and clean for a very long time. They installed the pump in the hole first, then installed our WaterGuard System in the trench. Our WaterGaurd serves as an underground trench and catches any leaking water from basement walls. Next, they covered all the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. The 50-foot-long discharge line from the sump pump doesn’t just end at the foundation wall; it goes through our IceGuard System outside of the home and ends at the LawnSpace Outlet. Our IceGuard serves as an extra block of protection from basement flooding and the LawnSpace Outlet is an “escape” for invasive water to exit the home. After everything was completed, Brenda’s basement was dry, safe, and healthy. She was very happy she chose American Waterworks to save the life and solidity of her home!

Crawl Space Waterproofing in Waldorf, MN

We received a call from Caitlin in Waldorf, MN when she began to notice water pooling in her crawl space beneath her home. Caitlin used her FREE estimate and our Design Specialist, Eric, went out to the property to see what we could do. When Eric got there, he discovered that the water was entering the space through cracks and openings in the foundation itself. Eric made several recommendations to rectify the problem. First, he wanted to install our SmartPipe system around the perimeter of the crawl space. This particular system helps water flow away from the crawl space and to the appropriate water removal device such as a sump pump. Next, Eric wanted to install our CleanSpace crawl space matting, which works with the SmartPipe to help keep the water flowing and draining to the appropriate areas. Finally, Eric wanted to seal up the rest of the problem holes with our spray foam to make sure water gathering in the space would be an issue of the past. Our Foreman, Lane and his crew were able to wrap the entire space in our CleanSpace, install the SmartPipe, and seal up the remaining cracks in the foundation. Now Caitlin and her family no longer have to worry about water wreaking havoc on their crawl space!

Concrete Leveling in Waseca, MN

A homeowner in Waseca, MN was concerned about his walkway after he noticed how much it had sunken when stepping down from the front stoop. It had made it difficult to see how steep the step down was, so the homeowner had created a temporary wooden step while searching for a permanent fix. He was eager to make a change and get rid of the gap for good, so he began his search with concrete replacement companies. However, once he found our website and some American Waterworks reviews, he realized the job could be completed with our PolyLevel injection rather than fully replacing the concrete. Relieved to hear this, he contacted our appointment center and scheduled a FREE estimate with us. We sent over Design Specialist Mike Dexter to take a closer look at the walkway and make his recommendations. Mike confirmed the homeowner's opinion that PolyLevel lifting and leveling of the concrete was the best way to move forward. The plans were set and a date for the project was then scheduled. When our Foreman, Patrick Burnes, arrived at the site with his crew, they began by drilling small holes throughout the walkway and inserting ports through them to reach the empty space below the surface. Then, the PolyLevel was injected in the ports to fill the empty space until the slabs reached their original height. The crew used NexusPro sealant to fill in the holes as well as the joints to eliminate any spaces or gaps in the walkway. Finally, a layer of native sand was spread on top of the sealant for a clean look to conclude the project. The homeowner was happy to be rid of the wooden step and have the walkway restored.

Failing Foundation Saved in Waseca, MN

A homeowner from Waseca, MN, was doing some work around his home when he noticed a large gap in his foundation. He had no idea how long the crack had been there, or who he could contact to fix it. He took to the internet to search for 'foundation repair mn', and eventually our website popped up. After clicking through our foundation repair before and after images, he signed up for his FREE estimate, and several weeks later, Eric H, one of our Design Specialists, headed out to the home.

Eric got right to work assessing the home, paying close attention to the large crack the homeowner had informed him about. After a few hours, Eric was ready to make his recommendation. Eric wanted to use our GeoLock street creep repair system to correct the failing wall. Street creep is a problem that is caused by thermal expansion and contraction of exterior concrete pavement that surrounds a home. As this concrete expands against a driveway with inadequate expansion joints, the driveway is pushed against the garage slab, which in turn pushes against the foundation, causing damage. The GeoLock® Street Creep Repair System will prevent future damage with new expansion joints in your concrete driveway as well as a steel wall anchor system that reinforces and straightens your foundation walls. The homeowner agreed with Eric's recommendations and scheduled the job on the spot.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Victor S, led his team through the swift and successful installation of 13 of our GeoLock anchors around the foundation of the home. Now, our customers can rest easy knowing that their foundation worries have been conquered!
