Concrete Repair in Stillwater, MN

Concrete Repair in Stillwater, MN Concrete Repair in Stillwater, MN

In Stillwater, MN a homeowner was looking to increase his curb appeal for the summer months. Specifically, he was looking to find a solution for the uneven joints and cracks scattered throughout the front walkway. He decided to go online to find a fix for the problem and searched for "concrete repair MN" to see what companies showed up. Sure enough, he found the American Waterworks website and quickly became interested in our FREE estimate offers. He decided to sign up for one and see what one of our experts had to say about his concrete situation. We sent over Design Specialist Mitch Strain to the home where he talked things over with the homeowner and inspected the walkway area for himself. Mitch decided that the best thing for the concrete was to install our PolyLevel, to lift and level the uneven slabs, and NexusPro, to seal in the unwanted cracks and large joints. The homeowner agreed to the plans and once they were approved, he was greeted by one of our Foremen, Dylon Mish, and his crew for the installations. When both products were installed and the crew had finished the work, they cleaned up the area and left the site. The homeowner was impressed with the results and grateful for the work that was done.

A homeowner from Woodbury, MN, had taken one too many tumbles over a section of uneven concrete on her backyard patio. She didn't want anyone else to fall victim to the sinking concrete, so she began the search for a MN concrete repair company. When she came across our website, she decided to sign up for her FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Mac C, headed out to the home.

Once Mac finished his walkthrough, he met with the homeowner to deliver his findings. Mac explained that concrete can sink for a variety of reasons but that American Waterworks could help restore the slabs. Mac said we would use our PolyLevel method. PolyLevel is a dense polyurethane foam that expands when it's injected beneath sinking concrete slabs. It works to fill voids left by soil erosion, slowly lifting the concrete back into place. When the lift has been completed, our team installs our NexusPro. NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant that gets applied to the cracks and joints of the newly lifted concrete. It works to prevent moisture from getting to the vulnerable soil below.  The homeowner liked the sound of Mac's plan, and scheduled the job for several weeks later.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Jordan, and his team completed the lift and level with no issues. Now, our customer can enjoy her outdoor oasis without worries of taking a tumble!

A Saint Paul, MN, homeowner had noticed that her front concrete walkway had been sinking for years. She had watched it slowly detach from her front step, creating a huge trip hazard. She didn't want any visitors to take an unplanned tumble, so she decided to look for a MN concrete repair company. Eventually, she found our website and decided to set up her FREE estimate. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Brad W, made a stop at the home to see the concrete.

Once he finished his walkthrough, he informed the homeowner that we could address the sinking concrete with the help of our PolyLevel method. He explained that PolyLevel is a dense polyurethane foam that expands after it's injected beneath sinking concrete. As it expands, it fills voids left by soil erosion, at the same time, slowly lifting the concrete back to its desired location. Brad then said that after the lift is complete, he recommended the use of our NexusPro. This silicone-based sealant works to protect the vulnerable soil beneath the foam, as it is designed to stand up against harsh weather conditions, ensuring your lift is preserved.

The homeowner liked the sound of the proposed work and decided to schedule it on the spot for several weeks later.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Dylon V, and his team were able to complete the lift with no worries. Now our customer can invite people to her home without worries that they'll take a tumble!

Wet Basement in Forest Lake, MN

Stephen W. in Forest Lake, MN had water seeping into his basement and he did not have a sufficient sump pump to discharge the water from the home. He decided to contact us for a free estimate and see how we could help. We sent a Design Specialist to his home to inspect the situation and to develop a solution. Our Design Specialist determined that the best way to ensure that Stephen would never have to worry about a wet basement would be to install WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement and a SuperSump sump pump to properly expel the water to the outside. Stephen agreed that this was the right plan for his basement, so we sent a crew there to install our system.

Our crew removed the concrete around the perimeter of the basement and laid the WaterGuard drainage system which led to the new sump pump that they installed. Then, they installed the discharge line from the sump pump to outside of the home, which is where the water drains to. The installation took a couple of days, but Steven will reap the benefits of this system for a lifetime. Since the installation, he has had a dry, clean basement. Our waterproofing system is backed by a lifetime warranty, so Stephen can rest easy knowing he invested in permanently protecting his home from water seeping into his home and causing damage.

Sinking Basement Stabilized in Hugo, MN

David H. in Hugo, MN realized that his basement had started to sink, and the corner of their new addition they added to their home was also starting to sink. A friend recommended that he give American Waterworks a call because they had a good experience with us in the past. David decided to contact us for a free estimate, so we sent one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, to his home to evaluate the situation and provide a solution. Jeremy explained that the best solution to permanently repair their foundation would be to install helical piers, which would support the foundation of the home. David knew that if he decided to wait and the foundation failed, it would be a very expensive fix, so he decided that he wanted to invest in the long-term protection of his home.

Our production team began the installation process by digging down to the foundation of the home. They installed 4 helical piers under the foundation of the basement, which transfers the weight of the home from the unstable soil, to the pier. They also installed 3 piers under the newly added deck which had recently started to sink. David’s home was starting to sink because the soil it was built on was not supportive enough, but his foundation is now permanently supported because of the installation of our piers. Our piers are guaranteed for a lifetime, so David will never again have to worry about his foundation failing.

Concrete Lift, Level, and Seal in Lake Elmo, MN

Our customer, Amy, from Lake Elmo, MN, reached out to us when she had enough of cracks forming on her garage concrete slab floor. Amy was afraid that if she didn't fix the issue soon, the cracks would get worse and create a much larger problem down the road. When Amy called in, we were able to set her up with our FREE estimate. A Design Specialist from our Concrete and Radon division was able to go out to the property and do a thorough inspection to see what we could do to help Amy. When he had finished, he recommended that Amy invest in our lifting and leveling option for her concrete. He suggested she do so fairly soon before the issue had a chance to get any worse. Amy agreed and our Foreman, Troy, and his crew were on the scene shortly after. The crew began the process by strategically drilling holes into the concrete slab that they then filled with our PolyLevel injection, an expanding polyurethane foam that fills the gaps caused by soil erosion to raise and stabilize concrete surfaces. The crew kept a close eye on the slab as the foam expanded, reaching the appropriate height. After the PolyLevel stage was finished, Troy and his crew finished the job by sealing any remaining holes or joints with our NexusPro solution, a silicone-based sealant specially formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and stand up to harsh weather conditions.

When the job was complete, Amy was happy with the work we had done and was relieved to know that her cracked concrete issues were worries of the past.

Uneven Floors Get Stabilized in Saint Paul Park, MN

Robert and Teresa from Saint Paul Park, MN, gave us a call when they began to notice that their kitchen floors were becoming increasingly uneven. They feared that the issue was structural in nature, so they contacted us to see what could be done. When they called in, we set them up with our FREE estimate, and we sent our Design Specialist, Shane, who was able to get out to the property to do a thorough inspection. When he finished his walk-through, he informed the homeowners that the issues were stemming from their basement foundation. Shane recommended that they invest in our SmartJack system, which provides support for sagging beams, restoring stability and straightness. These I-shaped beams have the option to be tightened over time, making them the ideal solution for uneven floors. Our Foreman, Tremaine and his crew ended up installing 7 SmartJacks throughout the basement of the home, strategically placing them below the stairs and in the areas of the basement where the sloping ceilings were the worst.

Once the job was done, both Robert and Teresa were pleased with the work we had done and were happy knowing that their new system had the option to be tightened over time, giving them peace of mind for a long time to come.

Concrete Walkway Gets Lifted in Stillwater, MN

Matt and Christine, of Stillwater, MN, got in contact with us when they began to notice the concrete slabs of their front patio were sinking, causing water to drain towards the foundation. They were afraid if they didn't look into fixing the issue, they would face water damage in their home or an increased risk of a tripping hazard due to the uneven concrete. When they called in, we set them up with one of our FREE estimates with one of our Design Specialists, Chuck. Once Chuck arrived at the property, he did a three-hour thorough inspection into the issue and in the end, made his recommendations as to how we could help the couple. Chuck recommended that they let us lift the concrete using our PolyLevel injection, and finish off the project by sealing the project in with our NexusPro solution. Chuck went on to explain that our PolyLevel is an expanding polyurethane foam that is injected beneath the concrete slab to fill the gaps caused by soil erosion and raises and stabilizes the concrete surface. The process for this injection is fairly quick and non-invasive for the homeowner. The slabs in question can be ready to use in 15 minutes from the time the solution is injected. Chuck also explained that our NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks and is specially formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and stand up to harsh weather conditions. Unlike traditional sealants, NexusPro resists UV rays, meaning it won't crack, bubble, or dry out which translates into a long-lasting seal on your concrete. The couple agreed to the work and renovations began shortly after.

Our Foreman Tyler and his crew began the process by strategically drilling holes into the problem slabs. Next, they injected the foam into the holes and closely monitored the raising process to ensure that the slabs got back to their original position. Once the slabs got back into place, they finished the project by applying our NexusPro solution to the joints, the space between the home's foundation and the concrete, and the cracks that had formed on the slabs of concrete to ensure that no water would get under the slabs.

Once the job had been completed, the homeowners were happy to see that the level concrete would keep water away from the home.

Camy then contacted the Appointment Center here at American Waterworks to claim her FREE estimate, which entitles her to a free home inspection by one of our Design Specialists. Once scheduled and the thorough home inspection is completed, our Design Specialist proposed to Camy that the best solution would be to invest in our PolyLevel solution along with our NexusPro solution. The PolyLevel injection is a polyurethane foam that is injected beneath the concrete to fill the voids that are caused by soil erosion and help stabilize the concrete slabs. Camy agreed and scheduled the date of installation.

Our Foreman and his Production crew then arrived at the property by strategically drilling holes in the problem slabs and then injecting the PolyLevel foam. After hearing wonderful reviews around their neighborhood, the homeowners chose to work with American Waterworks. The homeowner visited our site and signed up for their FREE estimate. Our Design Specialist, Darin, traveled to the home to complete an in-depth evaluation of the walls and foundation. Following his evaluation, Darin determined the garage was beginning to settle. Darin recommended that the homeowners stabilize their foundation and walls, to which they agreed. Our Foreman, Juan, and his crew were assigned to complete the job.

Upon arrival, Juan and the crew began by installing four PowerBraces along the southern wall. PowerBraces is a patented foundation wall repair system that is designed to stabilize failing foundation walls and has the potential to straighten them over time. The crew begins by cutting the steel I-beam wall braces to fit the walls. Then they secure the floor with joist hardware by attaching it near the mudsill at the top of the wall. Then the PowerBraces are fine-tuned into position and attached to the floor. The crew then shifted their focus to installing the SmartJacks near the middle of the west wall. The SmartJack system provides solid support for sagging and undersized beams, restoring stability and straightness to sagging floor joists in crawl spaces. Like PowerBraces, SmartJacks can be adjusted over time to provide additional straightening. After the walls and foundation were properly stabilized, the crew installed CleanSpace along the entire west and south garage walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that is ideal for unfinished basement walls. The crew installs CleanSpace by drilling it in place with plastic fasteners. The crew completed the installation and stabilization successfully. The homeowner was pleased that their garage was no longer at risk for further damage.
