A homeowner in Fayette, IA, realized it was time to schedule their annual maintenance appointment with us, American Waterworks. After checking the sticker on their already-installed products, the homeowner called our Service Center and set their annual maintenance appointment. Once the estimate was finalized, the homeowner waited for the arrival of one of our service technicians, Alex, to begin the inspection. Alex arrived at the home and began his thorough investigation of the products. During his inspection, Alex discovered the walls were struggling from cracks and needed to be stabilized to prevent further damage. Alex completed the inspection and presented his findings to the homeowner. Alex recommended stabilizing the walls using CarbonArmor and the homeowner agreed. Once the homeowner approved the plans, Alex passed them along to the office to build the project. After the office built the project, they assisted our Foreman, Raul, and his crew in completing the installation. Raul and his crew traveled to the home and began the installation. First Raul and his crew began the project by installing Carbon Armour along the north foundation wall. Once the Carbon Armor was installed, the crew ensured everything was cleaned up and products were set. The crew completed the installation, so they cleaned up all their materials and left the home. A movie theater in Decorah, IA noticed that they had a crack in their foundation. They got in touch with a local engineer, and the engineer recommended that they contact American Waterworks. Brad R. contacted us to receive a FREE estimate, so we sent out our Commercial Sales Specialist, Tom Webbles, to inspect their foundation and design a solution. Damaged Basement Revived in Ossian, IA

A homeowner in Ossian, IA was concerned about his basement space when he had recently been in the space and noticed a large amount of water had made its way into the basement. He didn't know what to do next, but knew it was most likely better to take action than let it sit and cause further damage. When he went online to find basement waterproofing solutions, he found the American Waterworks name. He became interested in our FREE no-obligation estimate services and signed up for his own. When we received his request, we sent over Design Specialist Dustin Amenda to take a closer look at the areas of concern and give his expert recommendations. Dustin informed the homeowner that in order to stop the water intake and prevent future water-related issues in the basement, a new sump pump and drainage system should be installed. The homeowner trusted Dustin's judgment and agreed to the suggested products and plan. When our Foreman, Jeremiah Fischer, and his crew arrived at the site, they began the project by jackhammering channels along the perimeter of the basement. Next, they filled the channels with drainage stone, our WaterGuard drain system, and more clean stone. They also installed a new SuperSump Plus pump and a feed line was connected from the drain system to the pump so the incoming water would be safely taken up and out of the home. To finish the project, the crew layered concrete around the areas to keep the newly installed products in place and protect them. The homeowner was glad to have a water-free basement back and relieved that he didn't let the problem get worse.

Decorah, IA, Sunken Sidewalk Raised

A homeowner in Decorah, IA, tripped walking into their home one evening. After some investigating, the homeowner noticed several of their slabs were uneven and crooked. Worried someone would be injured, the homeowners knew they needed to find a solution to their tripping issue. Hoping to avoid total concrete replacement, the homeowner began looking into concrete lifting and leveling services near them. The homeowner looked into "concrete leveling near Decorah, IA" and American Waterworks stood at the top of the list. After seeing our 4.9/5 star rating on Google, the homeowner knew we were the best company for them. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Brad, to take a look at the affected concrete. Brad arrived at the home and began by taking a close look at the driveway and walkway leading to the home. Following his detailed inspection, Brad determined the sidewalk and driveway were sinking due to soil settlement. To stop the sinking from continuing, Brad suggested filling the void and lifting the sidewalk and driveway back to its original level. The homeowner considered all their options but ultimately decided this was the best plan. Once the homeowner approved, Brad passed the plans to Logistics to build the project. As soon as the project was built, it was assigned to our Foreman, Jordan, and his crew to begin. Jordan and his crew traveled to the home and began the project by lifting the sinking sidewalk and driveway with PolyLevel. The PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. Once the PolyLevel injection was finished, the crew shifted their focus to filling the cracks and replacing the joints. The crew utilized NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and withstand harsh weather conditions. The crew begins by drilling, smoothing, and preparing the non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro Sealant is inserted in the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a uniform, finished appearance. Once the driveway and sidewalk were lifted and repaired, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was thankful and impressed with the work completed by Jordan and his crew. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!

Aidan completed the detailed inspection and found that the sidewalk was settling and sinking into the ground. To stop the sinking from continuing, Aidan recommended lifting the driveway with PolyLevel. The homeowner agreed with Aidan's proposal and the plans were sent to the office to be approved.
