First, Matt and his team began by installing WaterGuard along the basement perimeter. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew could shift their focus to removing the old sump pump and replacing it with the TripleSafe. The crew installed a feedline across the floor to connect the TripleSafe to the new WaterGuard. After the TripleSafe was secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. A homeowner in Fort Atkinson, IA, noticed their sidewalk was heaving considerably. Once they saw our impressive concrete before and after photos, the homeowner knew we were the ideal company for their project. Next, the homeowner called our Appointment Center and scheduled their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists to take a closer look. The Design Specialist traveled to Fort Atkinson and began their detailed inspection of the uneven concrete. During his detailed inspection, the Design Specialist discovered the sidewalk was sinking due to settlement. To prevent the sidewalk from sinking further, the Design Specialist recommended inserting PolyLevel underneath the sinking concrete. After considering all their options, the homeowner knew this was the best plan of action. The Design Specialist passed the project details to our Logistics team to build and schedule the project. After the project was built, our Logistics team scheduled it for the following weeks. Once the project date arrived, our PolyLevel crew traveled to Fort Atkinson to begin the PolyLevel installation. The PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. Once the PolyLevel injection was finished, the crew shifted their focus to filling the cracks and replacing the joints. The crew utilized NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and withstand harsh weather conditions. The crew begins by drilling, smoothing, and preparing the non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro sealant is inserted in the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a uniform, finished appearance. Once the products were properly installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was happy to know their sidewalk was no longer a tripping hazard.
