Job Stories From Wright County, MN
Failed Sump Pump Replaced in Delano, MN

A Town Home association in Delano, MN had a situation where water was leaking into the basement of a tenant’s Town House. They reassured that tenant that they would resolve the situation as quickly as possible, so they contacted American Waterworks to waterproof the basement. When our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson, entered the basement to provide them with a free estimate, he discovered that their old sump pump had failed and that had caused the wet basement. Chad developed a thorough waterproofing plan that was the most beneficial for the townhome association as well as the tenant living there.

Our production team installed our Iron Oaker drainage system and a SuperSump sump pump. The drainage system properly guides water to the sump pump and from there, the sump pump pushes the water through the discharge line and out of the townhome. The installation process took two days, but since our waterproofing system is guaranteed for a lifetime, the townhome association can rest easy knowing they chose the right long-term solution.

Severely Cracked Foundation Walls Stabilized with Wall Anchors

Blake C. in Cokato, MN was concerned about his foundation walls that were quickly deteriorating. They had large cracks through them and one of the walls was starting to bow inward. He decided he needed to find a solution before the foundation failed altogether, so he contacted the foundation repair experts at American Waterworks.

We successfully restored Blake's foundation by installing wall anchors on each of the damaged walls. We drilled long metal rods through the walls into the soil, and then secured them with anchor plates on each end. The anchors were tightened, and the wall stabilized. The anchors should also be tightened over time to continue improving the security of the foundation. Blake is glad he chose to permanently protect the foundation of his home.

Collin from Saint Michael, MN, got in contact with us when he came across our website and decided he wanted his home tested for Radon gas. Collin used his FREE estimate with us to have one of our Design Specialists out to his home to test the levels of radon within the home by leaving a Continuous Radon Monitor in the home for 48 hours. When the test returned, Collin was informed that the levels of Radon in his home were at 6 pCi/L. Once they were ready, the crew began by clearing out the debris from the crawl space. After the crawl space was cleared, the crew inserted the Drainage Matting on the crawl space floor. The Drainage Matting gives the water flooding into your crawl space a channel underneath the crawl space liner. Next, the crew installed CleanSpace, a waterproof plastic vapor barrier, on the crawl space floors and walls. The crew mechanically attaches CleanSpace onto the crawl space floors and walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners to ensure they never fall off. Once the CleanSpace was mechanically attached, the crew installed Foamax onto the block walls to keep the heat of the crawl space in the walls and lower the heating costs.
