Challenge
When a home or business is built, the contractors designing it never meant for the basement to be damp or musty. But as time and mother nature bears down on the foundation, it is bound to leak at some point. Water was leaking into the basement of a Community Center in Fosston, MN and management wanted to get it inspected by a professional. They saw that American Waterworks performs work in the northern part of Minnesota, so they called our office line and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian Schultz. Ian went there, inspected the basement, and came up with a solution that worked for them and their budget. After a thorough inspection, management was confident in Ian's proposal, so they went ahead with the installation and scheduled a date for the repairs.
Solution
Our Foreman, Corey Tollefson, and his production team began the project by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System, along with our TrenchDrain for water to settle into. Next, our team installed our SuperSump Plus M53 sump pump, which is made to keep basements clean and dry and works effectively and efficiently with our interior drainage systems. To complete the project, Corey and his crew covered the open gaps with river rock and pea gravel, and applied new concrete over it, ensuring the basement was neater than when they found it. Corey gave a final walkthrough with our customers and made sure all of their questions were answered. They had a good experience with our team and are grateful they took action when they did!
