Wet Basement Repair in Orchard, IA

Challenge

Duane and Bev S. of Orchard, IA had previously put in wall anchors to stabilize their foundation wall. They called American Waterworks to schedule a service call because they found more cracks in their basement wall. Our Service Technician, Kyle Hofschulte, went to their home to diagnose the wall and figure out why it was cracking. While he was there, water was present, so he proposed a few of our basement waterproofing systems to take care of the water leaks. Kyle proposed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System, CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier, and WaterGuard Below-Drain System. Duane and Bev were confident in Kyle's presentation and our products, so they decided to move forward with that part of the project and got a date scheduled for the installation part of the project.

Solution

Our Foreman, Kiko, and his production team began the project by introducing themselves to Bev and Duane and making sure all of their questions were answered before moving forward. After an attentive introduction, our team got to work and jackhammered out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain, which stays out of the mud zone, prevents water and mud clogs, and collects water leaks from basement walls. Next, Kiko and his crew installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier along the basement wall where the cracks were. Our CleanSpace is a special barrier that prevents mold and humidity, covers any holes or divots, and reduces the cost of energy bills. Lastly, our team installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. Our TripleSafe is the best sump pump that we provide for homeowners because it triples the protection and comes with a battery back-up, which goes into effect in case of a power outage. To complete the installation, Kiko and his production crew covered the open gaps with river rock and applied a new layer of concrete over it, ensuring the basement was left neater than when they found it. Duane and Bev were thrilled with the work, and could not believe the beautifying transformation!
