Larry, from Odessa, MN, was looking for solutions for his vacation home's basement. The basement was experiencing water intrusion during rainy days, so he decided to call American Waterworks for a FREE estimate. Shortly after the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Shane, headed out to the property.
Following a thorough inspection, Shane recommended that Larry invest in our WaterGuard system. This particular system is typically used in basements and is the premier choice for basement waterproofing. It is installed below the floor but rests atop the foundation, keeping it out of the "mud zone" and making it harder to clog.
Ron agreed, and our crew got to work.
Our Foreman, Tremaine, and his crew began implementing our WaterGuard System, a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and can collect leaking water from basement walls. The team then covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete.
The drainage system now properly guides water to the sump pump, which pushes it through the discharge line and expels it from the home.
After all was said and done, Larry was very glad he decided to use American Waterworks and had his peace of mind restored.
A homeowner from Westbrook, MN, was down in her basement one day when she noticed a steady stream of water coming through the baseboard of her unfinished basement. She was worried that the leak could be an indicator of a larger issue and decided to find an interior basement waterproofing company in her area. Through a recommendation, she contacted American Waterworks and signed up for her FREE estimate.
Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Eric H, was headed out to the home. Eric diligently completed his inspection and then met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations. Eric began by saying that the homeowner was correct to call us, stating that water intrusion issues only worsen with time, creating bigger messes and higher costs. Eric stated that the problem could be fixed with the installation of our WaterGuard and our SuperSump plus sump pump. Beginning with the WaterGuard, Eric explained that this product is a unique French drain that gets installed below the basement floor, but atop the footing of the foundation, keeping it out of the 'mud zone' where similar drains tend to clog. It functions to give the water entering through the floor a channel to flow freely to the SuperSump pump, an effective yet economical solution for ridding a basement of water. The homeowner was thrilled with Eric's solution and signed on the spot.
Several weeks later, our Foreman, Lane S, and his team effortlessly installed 106 ft of WaterGuard and 1 SuperSump plus sump pump in the basement of the space. Now, our customer can breathe easy knowing that her basement will properly dispose of unwanted water!

Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his production team began the project by breaking out the basement floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed 158 feet of our WaterGuard System, which serves as an underground drain and prevents water clogs. WaterGuard is one of our most efficient waterproofing systems when it comes to water leaks and will keep your basement clean and dry whether it's during the spring melt or during an intense thunderstorm. To complete the project, Juan and his team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Alex was satisfied with the outcome and had a remarkable experience from start to finish!
