Lynda U. from Truman, MN contacted American Waterworks after doing some research online. The floors in her home were sagging and the crawl space was in need of some supports. She was happy to learn that American Waterworks has 30 years of experience and was glad to meet with Ryan Powell, one of our Design Specialists. Ryan evaluated the situation and proposed our SmartJack Support System and supplemental beams to stabilize and level the sagging beams.
Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrubias, and his production crew were successfully able to strengthen and stabilize the crawl space with the installation of 14 SmartJacks. The support system can be installed year-round, provides supplemental support, and can often lift failing floor joists or beams, restoring them to their original position. It is made with strong, corrosion-resistant, galvanized steel and remains adjustable for years, should it need future adjustment. Lynda was impressed with the installation process, and her peace of mind has been restored!
A homeowner in Bismarck, ND, knew they needed to check on their crawl space. During this investigation, the homeowner noticed fallen insulation throughout the crawl space. Unsure why their insulation was falling, the homeowner wanted to find answers. The homeowner knew their friend had a similar issue, so they asked them for a recommendation on the company to work with. Their friend recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner went to our website and signed up for their FREE estimate. Soon after the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of Kole, one of our Design Specialists. Kole arrived at the home and began thoroughly investigating the crawl space. After taking a closer look, Kole determined there was too much moisture in the crawl space and the insulation became wet, adding to the weight of the insulation. Kole was able to suggest a solution to the homeowner and they agreed. Next, Kole sent the plans to the office and our Foreman, Roel, and his crew. Roel and his crew traveled to the home to begin the project. First, Roel and his crew began by taking out all the old insulation and clearing out the debris. Once the debris was cleared, Roel and his crew were able to lay the Drainage Matting down. Once the Drainage Matting was laid, the crew shifted their focus to installing CleanSpace on the basement floor and an inch up the foundation walls. Roel and his crew successfully encapsulated the entire crawl space, so they cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was thankful for the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to encapsulate its home's struggling foundation.

Cameron, from Epping, ND got in contact with us when he began to notice a musty smell and humid air radiating from his crawl space beneath the home. When he called our office, we set him up with our FREE estimate, and a few weeks later our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property to assess the situation. After he completed his walkthrough, he informed Cameron that excess water was entering the space through cracks and holes in the foundation. He also assessed the relative humidity (RH) of the space was measured at 57.34%, and informed Cameron that we recommend taking action at any RH level above 55%. Ian also made some recommendations as to how we could help fix the issue. First, Ian recommended our drainage matting; a dimpled matting that gets installed onto the floor of the crawl space, giving any excess water a route to flow through the space and be disposed of at an external site such as a drain or a sump system. Ian's second recommendation was our CleanSpace vapor barrier, a 100% waterproof tarp that works to trap any excess moisture in the space, redirecting it to the appropriate disposal site. Our customer agreed with the recommendations and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Kevin, and his team ended up installing 1372 sqft of the CleanSpace and another 1,296 sqft of drainage matting in the crawl space. Now our customer can enjoy his space without worrying about water intrusion!
