Having a wet or damp basement can create more than just a headache. Problems like these can cause larger problems like mold, mildew, rot, structural damage, and health problems. If you have noticed any symptoms such as a wet basement floor or walls, standing water, smelly odors, condensation, sump pump problems, or leaky basement windows, it is time to get in contact with a professional to come and inspect your basement.
A resident of Thompson, ND was seeing similar problems like this, so he got in contact with American Waterworks after doing some research. He got a FREE estimate scheduled with our Design Specialist, Richie Noreen. Richie went to the resident's home, inspected the basement, and determined a solution that would work for them and their needs. He proposed our WaterGuard Drainage System and a feed line to the sump pump. The homeowner was confident in the proposal after getting their questions answered, so they followed through with the project.
Our Foreman, Cameron Pjrakonekham, and his production team started the installation by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGaurd Below Floor Drain, which prevents water clogs, collects water leakage from basement walls, and serves as an underground drain. Next, our team formed a feed line from one side of the WaterGuard to the sump pump. The purpose of a feed line is to transport water from high influx areas to the sump pump. The homeowner was happy with the work that was completed!

Gary, from Lake Lillian, MN, began to notice a bow in the foundation walls of his lake home. The bowing of the wall resulted in cracks within the foundation, allowing water to seep through and causing a wet basement. Gary decided to call American Waterworks and claim his FREE estimate, which entitled him to a complete home inspection. Once the appointment was set, our Design Specialist, Shane, headed to the home. He began a thorough home inspection to get a proper diagnosis of the situation and provide the best solutions to help Gary not only solve his issue but prevent any other issues from arising. Once the inspection was done, Shane recommended that Gary invest in our PowerBrace Wall System. Gary agreed with the solution and proceeded to schedule a date of installation.
Once set, our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew began strategically placing PowerBraces around the basement, inserting 5 9' PowerBraces to stabilize the wall further. The PowerBrace system is an I-shaped beam that stabilizes and helps straighten the bow of the wall over time. The PowerBrace system is drilled into the home's support beams and the concrete on which the house lies. The team also inserted 6 GeoLock Wall Anchors to correct the issue. This innovative system stabilizes foundation walls by anchoring them to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation; the anchors can be tightened over time.
Now Gary lives worry-free, and the foundation of his lake home is in jeopardy of worsening. If you are experiencing a similar issue, contact American Waterworks today and claim your FREE estimate!!
