A homeowner in Postville, IA distressed after discovering their standing water in their basement. Frantically searching for a solution, the homeowner looked for the quickest respondent to their emergency. The homeowner looked into "flooded basement repair near Postville, IA" and one of the first companies to show up was us, American Waterworks. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and we set their FREE estimate with Brady, one of our Iowa-based Design Specialsits. Brady traveled to Postville and inspected the entire basement. During his investigation, Brady noticed several issues with the foundation, which led to the issues regarding flooding. Brady completed the estimate and told the homeowner of the issues he discovered and how we could solve them. After hearing Brady's proposal, the homeowner knew it was their best option. The homeowner agreed with the solution, so Brady sent the plans to the office to build the project. Once the project was built, they sent the plans to our Foreman, Juan, and his crew. Juan and his crew traveled to the home and started the project. First, Juan and his crew began by installing the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. Once the WaterGuard channels were dug, the crew put two TripleSafe Sump Pumps into place. Next, the crew attached 14 GeoLock Wall anchors to secure the foundation. Finally, the crew wrapped up the project by attaching CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Once all the products were installed, Juan and his crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was in awe of the transformation completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to fully waterproof and stabilize its customer's basements.
A homeowner in Stoddard, WI continually experienced flooding in their basement when the power went out. American Waterworks was able to replace the failing beaver system and sump pump with our Waterguard and Triple Safe sump pump so the homeowner no longer had to worry about a wet basement after a storm.
Leo S. in Stoddard, WI had water leaking through his wood foundation into his finished basement. Unfortunately, the water had caused damaged to his drywall and flooring. He contacted American Waterworks after seeing one of our commercials on TV, and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, to his home to provide him with a free estimate and unique waterproofing plan. He liked the thorough plan that Pete developed, so he scheduled the installation.
Our Foreman, Cory Sather, and his production crew removed the damaged portion of the drywall and then removed the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor to create a trench for our WaterGuard drainage system. They laid the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement, so the water will be properly guided to the sump pump. Next, they filled back the gaps around the WaterGuard with rock and replaced the concrete. Then, they installed the EverLast half-wall restoration system. This wall system includes metal studs and an inorganic, mold-resistant wall product that replaces the bottom 32" of the drywall. This is a permanent solution for water-damaged dry wall! Leo’s peace of mind has been restored and he is enjoying a dry, healthier basement!
Ryan B. of Stoddard, WI had a crack in his foundation wall, causing him to worry about the stability of his home. He called American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE inspection with our Design Specialist, Rick. Rick went to Ryan's home, carefully examined his foundation wall, and drew up a solution that worked for him and his home repair needs. He was confident in Rick's proposal of our GeoLock Wall Anchor System, so he followed through with the project and got an installation date scheduled.
Our Foreman, Tremaine, and his production manager began the project by digging small holes outside the home, beyond the foundation. From the interior foundation, Tremaine and his crew inserted a long, steel rod through to each hole outside of the home. At the ends of each rod, our crew installed an anchor and a wall plate which provides the pressure to make the system work. Our anchors extend out to the hard-packed soil, anchoring themselves and bracing the foundation wall, which stops inward movement. Over time, our anchors can be tightened by the homeowner to ensure the system is sticking to its design. To complete the installation, Tremaine and his team backfilled each hole, compacted the soil, and ensured the outdoor space was neater than when they found it.
