An Eagan, MN, homeowner was chatting with her neighbor one day when she learned that her neighbor had their home tested for radon gas. She did not know the dangers of radon gas but decided to find a radon mitigation specialist in her area just to be sure that her home wasn't affected. Through an online search, she quickly found our website. Impressed with our radon mitigation system pictures, she signed up for her FREE estimate and several weeks later, one of our Design Specialists, Brad W, was headed out to the home.
Brad began his inspection by placing a continuous radon monitoring test on the lowest level of the home. This test works to collect radon levels in the home over a 48-hour timespan, delivering the average result when the test concludes. When Brad finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to deliver the diagnosis. Brad began by explaining that radon is a radioactive gas that is emitted from the breakdown of soil surrounding your home's foundation. It gets into the home through tiny cracks and holes in the foundation. The gas is colorless, odorless, and tasteless, thus making it completely undetectable without the proper testing. Brad went on to say that the EPA recommends taking action for any levels higher than 4 pCi/L, as this dangerous gas has been linked to the development of lung cancer, claiming 21,000 lives annually. Brad finished by saying that if the results of the test came back higher than the recommended level, he would strongly urge the homeowner to consider installing a radon mitigation system. A typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. When installed by a professional, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in the interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health safety agencies. The homeowner liked Brad's plan but decided to wait for the results to return to make her choice. 48 short hours later, Brad returned to the home to read the results, which returned well above 4 pCi/L, so Brad and the homeowner began to discuss the best day for our team to come out and install her system.
Several weeks later, our Foreman, Dakota M, was able to place the system in the home. Now, our customer can have renewed faith in the air circulating her home!

A homeowner in St. Paul, MN, disliked the appearance of their uneven driveway. Knowing they needed professional assistance, the homeowner began looking into options near them. After searching for 'concrete repair mn', one of the first companies to catch their eye was us, American Waterworks. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Mitch, to inspect the driveway and sidewalk. Mitch arrived at the home and introduced himself to the homeowner. After greeting the homeowner, he started his detailed inspection. Mitch discovered that the driveway was starting to settle, causing the uneven appearance. Soon after he received his stamp of approval, the plans were finalized by the office and then sent to our Foreman, Troy. Troy and his crew traveled to the home and began the lift. To lift the affected concrete, the crew utilized PolyLevel, our polyurethane foam injection solution. After the PolyLevel was fully installed, the crew took out all the joints and replaced them with NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based solution. Once the entire project was completed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was grateful for the excellent work completed by the crew. A Saint Paul, MN, homeowner got in contact when she suspected her basement of taking on water. Our Design Specialist, Ryan K, headed out to the home to see what could be done.
After Ryan finished his thorough inspection, he was ready to make his recommendations. First, Ryan wanted to use our Basement to Beautiful wall panels. These panels are the superior choice for a dry, energy-efficient basement. At 2 ½" thick and R-13 insulation, Basement To Beautiful™ panels create a warm, protective blanket around your basement that will never rot or support mold growth. Next, Ryan recommended our WaterGuard drain. This unique french drain is installed below the slab of the floor, but atop the footing of the foundation. Using this placement helps keep this drain out of the 'mud zone' where other drains of its nature tend to clog. It works to catch water coming up through the floor, giving it a channel to flow freely to the appropriate disposal site. In this case, the basement lacked a means of disposal, so Ryan recommended our TripleSafe sump pump. This pump is the most reliable in our lineup, providing three levels of protection for both your peace of mind and your basement. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe has a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller® ½ hp pump set a bit higher in the liner will take over. The homeowner liked the sound of the plan and scheduled the job on the spot.

Daniel F., a resident of Saint Paul, MN had a deteriorating foundation wall, as well as a musty and sagging ceiling and crawl space in his basement, causing him to worry severely about the value of his home. Our Foreman, Dylon, and his production team started the installation by installing our 5'-7' SmartJacks, which are made to support sloping and springy floors. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Encapsulation Moisture Barrier in the crawl space, which is made to keep the crawl space dry and protects the space from wood rot or mold. Next, our team installed our 1'-3' SmartJacks in the crawl space, which is very compatible with our vapor barrier because it prevents mold and humidity while also repairing the structure. Next, Dylon and his team applied our spray-on solution called ShotLock around the foundation wall perimeter. Our ShotLock repairs deteriorating walls and it is twice as strong as concrete. Lastly, our team applied new concrete throughout the entire basement floor, which gives the space a neat and clean finish. Daniel was thrilled with the work and had a great experience with our team!
