A homeowner in Greene, IA, had a hunch to check their basement following a heavy thunderstorm. Once they went downstairs, their worries were confirmed. The homeowner discovered several wet walls throughout the basement. Knowing they needed to solve the issue immediately, the homeowner began looking into "Iowa basement repair". Only one company caught their eye, American Waterworks, so they took a closer look into our company and what we offer. The homeowner was impressed with our services and products, so they decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Nate. As soon as Nate arrived, he began inspecting the struggling basement and concrete. During his investigation, Nate discovered one wall was the main issue. Nate recommended waterproofing the eastern corner of the basement. The homeowner agreed with Nate's suggestions, so he passed the plans along to the office to be approved. After the office approved, they were directed to our Foreman, Jose, and his crew. Once they arrived at the home, Jose and his crew began the project by installing WaterGuard in the eastern corner of the basement. Next, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the SuperSump+. Next, the crew installed and placed the Aprilaire E100 where the old dehumidifier was located. Finally, the crew shifted their focus outside and attached an IceGuard on the outside discharge line. After all the products were installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted to know their basement was properly waterproofed. American Waterworks is happy to provide their homeowners peace of mind knowing their basement was fully waterproofed.
Nick in Waconia, MN just moved in to a new home and discovered cracks in his foundation and a bowing basement wall. He was concerned about the value of his home and the potential problems these foundation issues could cause if left alone, so he contacted American Waterworks to have one of our foundation repair experts inspect his foundation. Our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson, determined that Nick’s best option was to repair his foundation using wall anchors. Chad explained the process and let Nick know that repairing his foundation will solve the problem in an efficient and cost-effective way, so Nick chose to move forward with having our system installed.
Our production team installed 14 wall anchors along the perimeter of Nick’s foundation walls in his basement. We drilled long metal rods through the brick walls and into the soil surrounding the home. Then we secured the rods with anchor plates on each end and tightened them. After the installation, the walls became stable and began to straighten. Our foundation repair products are guaranteed for a lifetime, so Nick is confident that he chose the right solution for his home!

Angelina S. of Waconia, MN had cracked and bowing foundation walls. In fact, on rainy days, water would come into her basement. She worked with American Waterworks for the repairs. Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his crew installed our WaterGuard Below Floor Drain, CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier, and our Wall Anchors to waterproof the basement and repair the foundation walls. Our WaterGuard is an interior drainage system that collects water seepage from basement walls. Our CleanSpace is a vapor barrier that prevents mold and humidity, while also saving money on energy costs. Lastly, our wall anchor system is a special anchor-rod installation that stabilizes foundation walls and allows the wall to straighten back to its normal position. To complete the entire installation, Juan and his team filled the open-floor gaps (that were broken out with a jackhammer) with river rock and an additional layer of concrete. Angelina was thrilled with the work and could not believe the beautiful transformation!

A homeowner in Waconia, MN, noticed their basement had a musty odor. Concerned by this smell, the homeowner decided to solve the issue. While reviewing multiple basement waterproofing companies, the homeowners came across American Waterworks. After seeing the 5-star reviews, the homeowners decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate details were set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Eric, to the home to inspect the status. Following his inspection, Eric suggested that the homeowners fully waterproof their basement and encapsulate their crawl space. Eric showed them multiple versions of this solution, and the homeowners picked the one best fit for their home. Once the plans were finalized, they were sent to the assigned crew.
Our crew traveled to the home and began the project. First, the crew focused on installing the waterproofing products in the basement. First, the crew installed the WaterGuard in the northern section of the basement. Once the WaterGuard was secured, the crew installed a feedline across the basement floor. Next, the crew installed the CleanSpace Wall System onto the entire north wall and sections of the west and east wall. Then, SprayFoam is injected into the upper section of the walls. After the basement waterproofing was completed, the crew moved on to installing CleanSpace into the crawl space. After all the products were successfully installed, the crew cleaned up their site and was able to leave the home. The homeowners were grateful for all the great work the crew completed. A homeowner from Waconia, MN, was getting his home ready for resale. Before he could list his home, he was aware of several issues that needed to be fixed so as to not hinder the sale. One of these issues was a large crack running lengthwise on one of the homeowner's basement walls. He had been aware of the crack for some time but knew it was time to take action. He began to look for foundation repair MN and quickly found our website. He signed up for our FREE estimate, and several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ryan P, was headed out to the home.
Once Ryan finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to deliver his findings. He explained that foundation walls are designed to support loads from above, not from the side. When side pressure on the wall exceeds its ability to withstand the force, it begins to crack, bow, slide in at the bottom, and/or tilt inward at the top. For this reason, Ryan recommended our GeoLock anchors. These anchors counteract soil pressure by anchoring walls to stable, undisturbed soil beyond the homes foundation. The homeowner agreed with Ryan's proposal and signed on the spot.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Jesus C, led his team through the successful installation of 7 GeoLock anchors throughout the basement of the home. Now, our customer can confidently list his home for sale, knowing everything is in tip-top shape!
