A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, had a growing issue of concrete slabs sinking in his walkway. Knowing it would only continue to worsen, the homeowner decided to tackle the issue immediately by contacting us and scheduling his FREE estimate. 

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Brad W., arrived at the home to provide a thorough inspection, answer any questions the homeowner had, and provide the best solution. Brad explained to the homeowner that soil washout is one of the most common reasons for sinking concrete slabs. When it rains or floods, water moves through the ground and washes away supporting soils, causing the slabs to settle. For this reason, Brad recommended our PolyLevel, a waterproof foam expanding formula, to lift the concrete slabs, and NexusPro, a silicone-based sealant, to seal the steps. The homeowner happily agreed to Brad's recommendation and scheduled the installation date. 

In about a month, our crew arrived at the home to carry out the installation. PolyLevel is installed by first drilling small 3/8 inch holes into the slabs. Using an injection gun, PolyLevel is then injected beneath the slab, filling in the voids in the concrete. Once the slab has been lifted to the desired level, the crew seals the holes with cement. Lastly, they sealed the joints of the steps with NexusPro.

A homeowner from Brooklyn Park, MN, was growing more frustrated over a sinking concrete slab leading up to her front door. Not wanting anyone to take an unnecessary tumble, she decided to begin the search for a company that could help. After finding our website through her searches, she decided to call us and take advantage of our FREE estimates, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Nate B, headed out to the home. 

Once Nate finished his walkthrough, he met with the homeowner to give her his recommendations. He began by saying we could fix the sinking slab using our PolyLevel solution. PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam that expands when injected beneath concrete slabs, filling voids left by soil erosion, and slowly lifting the slab back into place. Nate finished by saying that our process is completed with the application of our NexusPro. A silicone-based sealant, this product gets applied to all cracks and joints in the concrete to ensure no water can get below the slab. The homeowner agreed and work began a few weeks later. 

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Troy, was able to lift the sinking stoop back to meet the adjoining concrete stairs, successfully eliminating any trip hazards. Now our customer can enjoy her front entrance just a bit more!

Mitch J. in Coon Rapids, MN had water seeping into his basement. He expressed his frustration about the problem in his basement to a friend and that friend recommended that he call American Waterworks to waterproof his basement. Mitch decided to call us for a free estimate, so we sent one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, to his home to inspect the problem and design a solution. Jeremy worked closely with Mitch to develop a plan that was best fitting for his needs. Mitch was pleased with the proposal that Jeremy presented to him, so he scheduled a date for us to waterproof his basement.

Our production team started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of Mitch’s basement, and the concrete where they needed to install the new sump pump. Then, they laid our WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter and a feed line through the middle of the basement floor. The WaterGuard and feed line properly drain water to the sump pump, instead of the water pooling in his basement. Once the water reaches the sump pump, it is pushed through the discharge line and expelled from the home. Mitch was very pleased with the work that the crew did! He is glad he chose to invest in his home and protect his basement for the long-term.
