A couple from Brainerd, MN got in contact with us when they began to notice cold floors on their main level, as well as higher than normal energy bills. They suspected their crawl space beneath the home to be the culprit but wanted to get a second opinion. When they called in, they used their FREE estimate to have one of our Design Specialists, Jesse, out to the property to assess the situation. Once Jesse had completed his walkthrough, he was able to make his recommendations as to how we could help. Jesse wanted to use our CleanSpace for crawl spaces vapor barrier to address the issue. He explained that the benefits of our CleanSpace included controlling mold and rot, saving money on utilities, sealing away odors, as well as keeping pests and inspects out of the space. He went on to say that the process of installing CleanSpace is minimal. The couple agreed and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Raul, and his team wound up installing 995 sqft of our CleanSpace throughout the crawl space. Once the job was complete, the couple was happy to know that their home was more efficient than before!

A Brainerd, MN, homeowner was quickly losing her patience with her sump pump. The system was older and had a tough time keeping up with water flow in times of heavy intrusion. The homeowner knew she needed to upgrade her sump pump, and began looking for sump pump repair companies in Minnesota. When she found our website, she signed up for our FREE estimate, and several weeks later, one of our Design Specialists was out at the home.
After completing his comprehensive inspection, our Design Specialist was ready to make his recommendation. First, he recommended our CleanSpace vapor barrier be installed in the problem corner of the room. He explained that this 100% waterproof tarp-like material gets applied directly to the wall and works to collect any water entering through cracks and holes in the space, directing it down and into a perimeter drain that our Design Specialist was recommended to be our WaterGuard. This french drain is placed below the floor of the basement but atop the footing of the foundation, keeping it out of the 'mud zone' where similar drains tend to clog. It collects the water flowing down from the CleanSpace, as well as water entering through holes in the floor, giving it a channel to flow to a disposal site such as a sump pump or discharge line. Because the basement lacked a means of disposing of unwanted water, our Design Specialist recommended our SuperSump plus sump pump, an effective and economical solution to unwanted water. The homeowner agreed and scheduled the job on the spot.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, RJ L, led his team through the successful installation of 29 ft of WaterGuard, 14ft of CleanSpace, and 1 SuperSump plus sump pump. Now, our customer can breathe a bit easier knowing that her new waterproofing system will be there during times of heavy rain!
Josh M. of Slayton, MN had cracks along his foundation wall, and he wanted to get it repaired as soon as possible. He heard about American Waterworks on the radio, so he decided to give our office a call. Our customer care department set him up with a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Jared Bruns. Jared went to his home to carefully inspect the foundation wall and come up with a solution. Josh got all of his questions answered about the repairs, so he went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Cole Brinkman, and his production team began the installation by digging five holes outside of the home beyond the foundation. Next, our team inserted a long, metal rod from the inside foundation to each hole outside of the home. On the ends of each rod, our team tightened and secured a GeoLock Wall Anchor. This wall anchor system will permanently stabilize foundation walls by anchoring the walls to the hard-packed, compact soil. After installation, wall anchors can be tightened over time to further straighten the foundation wall. To complete the project, our team backfilled the holes and replaced the soil, leaving the yard looking neater than when they found it. Josh was very happy with the final product!
