A homeowner in Adrian, MN, knew it was time to have the stair-step cracks in their foundation repaired. Knowing they needed a professional to come to their home and take a look, the homeowners began looking for the best options near them. Recently there has been some flooding in the area, the homeowners asked friends in nearby towns if they had any suggestions. Several of their friends recommended working with us, American Waterworks. Trusting their friends' opinions, the homeowner decided to go to our website and sign up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Ryan. Ryan arrived at the home and began investigating the status of the basement. Following his thorough investigation, Ryan confirmed that the basement's foundation was struggling and required permanent stabilization. Ryan presented his plan to the homeowner and they agreed with his suggestions. After the homeowner approved it, they passed the plans on to the office for finalization. The office built the project and assigned it to our Foreman, Chris. After Chris received the plans, he and his crew traveled to the home to begin the project. Once they arrived, the crew began by installing 19 GeoLock anchors around the perimeter of the basement. Once the GeoLocks were properly installed, the crew dug and placed the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. Additionally, Chris and his crew installed a new sump pump, the SuperSump+, in the corner of the basement. Once all the products were installed, the crew cleaned their materials and left the home. The homeowner was grateful to know their basement was permanently stabilized and properly waterproofed. American Waterworks is happy to provide their homeowners peace of mind in their homes.
A homeowner from Adrian, MN, was at his local home improvement store one day when he noticed an at-home radon gas testing kit. He didn't know much about the dangers of radon gas but knew that if levels in his home were high, he might need to take action. After conducting a test himself, he was floored when the results came back at 23 pCi/L. Panicked, he decided to find Minnesota radon specialists who could help. After finding our website, he was impressed with our radon mitigation pictures from other projects in his area and decided to sign up for his FREE estimate.
Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Tony B, was headed out to the home. When Tony arrived, he got right to work inspecting the home. When he finished, he met with the homeowner. He first commended him for calling in an expert, as radon gas is odorless, colorless, and tasteless, making it impossible to detect without proper testing. He went on to say that, the Environmental Protection Agency recommends taking action for any levels higher than 4 pCi/L, and that because of the elevated levels in the home, he was recommending a radon mitigation system be installed. Tony explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He finished by saying that, when installed by a licensed professional, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in the interior air to minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health agencies. The homeowner liked Tony's plan and scheduled the work for several weeks later.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Dakota, and his team were able to seamlessly place the system within the home, successfully restoring the homeowner's faith in the air circulating his home!

Jennifer from Echo, MN got in contact with us when she began to notice that her basement wall was showing signs of cracking, an indicator of wall failure. She didn't want to wait any longer to fix the issue so she called our office. We set her up with our FREE estimate, entitling her to a free, no-obligation inspection of the issue. A few weeks after the appointment was set, our Design Specialist, Eric H, headed out to the property to assess the situation. Once he completed his walkthrough, he recommended the use of our GeoLock wall anchors. He informed her that these anchors are ideal for bowing or cracking walls because they are anchored to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation of the home, pulling the wall back into place. Jennifer agreed with Eric's recommendation and work began a few weeks later.
Our Design Specialist, Raul, and his crew worked to install the anchors on the problem wall in the basement. Once the job was complete, they installed 4 of our GeoLock anchors. Now Jennifer can enjoy her basement without worrying about her home's structural integrity!
Denise J. of Fort Ripley, MN had water leaking from her foundation walls into her basement, making her worry about stained walls, water damage, and flooding hazards. She got in touch with our office staff and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson. Chad went to her home to carefully inspect the walls and come up with a solution that fit her home repair needs and budget. Denise was confident in Chad's proposal and was content with the products and their warranties, so she went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Raul Barroso, and his production team began the project by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Drainage System, which is the most common waterproofing repair product we provide for homeowners. It serves as an underground drain in connection with the sump pump, it prevents water and mud clogs, and it collects water seepage from basement walls. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the wall perimeter. Our CleanSpace is made to prevent mold build-up, humidity growth, and guide water into the WaterGuard. To complete the project, Raul and his team filled the open gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over it. Denise was happy with the work that was done and was impressed by the transformation from start to finish!
