Our Co-Foreman, Aaron Engen, and his crew began the project by installing our CleanSpace Moisture Vapor Barrier. Our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is a heavy-duty protectant that is used in the encapsulation process to transform the crawl space into a dry, clean, and energy-efficient part of the home. Next, our team installed our SmartDrain Drain System, which is a crawl space drain that includes a bottomless liner and an airtight lid. If a plumbing failure occurs, our SmartDrain will drain the water beneath the vapor barrier, preventing it from collecting in the crawl space. Lastly, our team applied spray foam around the floor cracks, which provides a dry and warm crawl space, while also reducing energy costs. A resident of Nisswa, MN had a bowing foundation wall and they wanted to get it fixed. They had American Waterworks come out for an inspection and estimate. Jerry T. in Granite Falls, MN noticed that one of his garage foundation walls had a large exterior crack and it was bowing outward. He was concerned that the damaged wall was putting too much pressure on his foundation and did not want to get stuck in a situation where he had to replace the entire foundation. He contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate, so we had one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, go to his home to develop the right solution unique to Jerry’s home. Jerry was pleased to hear that we could permanently secure his foundation by installing wall anchors, so he scheduled to have our foundation repair system installed.

Our production team started the installation process by drilling long metal rods into the soil underneath the garage floor and through the block foundation wall. They removed small rectangles of concrete from the garage floor where they would secure the other end of the rods. They screwed anchor plates on to the rods and tightened them as far as they would go. Lastly, they replaced the concrete in the garage and cleaned up. The process was quick and efficient. Jerry was very pleased with the results and is glad he chose to protect his foundation by having it permanently repaired.

In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System, which prevents water and mud clogs, collects water leakage from basement walls, and serves as an underground drain. Next, Matt and his team installed our CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier around the entire wall perimeter, which is made to prevent mold and mildew, cover any holes or divots, and give the basement a bright and clean appearance. To finish the installation, our team filled the open gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over them, ensuring the space was cleaner than when they found it.
