Our Foreman, Cole, and his production crew installed our WaterGuard Below Floor Drain which serves as an underground drain that prevents mud clogs and collects water seepage from basement walls. Next, our team installed our Foamax Wall Panels which is a special foam insulation that saves money on energy costs and prevents water moisture from invading the basement. A Madison, MN, homeowner had noticed a large crack forming along his basement wall over the last few years. He was worried that the cracking wall could eventually impact the safety of the home, as well as the resale value. He decided to find a foundation repair specialist in his area and quickly found American Waterworks. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Dylan W, was headed out to the home. Dylan wasted no time getting into the basement to see the problem walls. When Dylan finished his walkthrough, he met with the homeowner. Dylan began by explaining that foundation walls are designed to withstand loads from above, not from the side. So when the pressure being put on the side of the wall exceeds what it can withstand, it's not uncommon for homeowners to see cracking or bowing. Dylan went on to say that we had the perfect solution. Dylan recommended our GeoLock wall anchors, explaining that these anchors counteract the pressure being put on the wall by anchoring it to the hard-packed, undisturbed soil beyond the foundation of the home. Dylan went on to say that not only does this method offer the potential to straighten the wall back to its original position, but it can be tightened over time to further straighten foundation walls. About a month later, our Foreman, Juan P, and his team were out at the home to install the anchors.
