Egress Window Added to Basement in Decorah, IA

A Decorah, IA, homeowner was in the process of transforming their unfinished basement into a living space. For the project to be code-compliant, the homeowner learned that they needed to have a means of egress in the basement. The homeowner took to the internet to look for an 'egress window well near me' and quickly found American Waterworks. After viewing other egress jobs we had done in the area, the homeowner decided to claim his FREE, no-obligation estimate

Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ryan M, headed out to the home to perform his inspection. When he finished, he met with the homeowner to go over his findings. Ryan informed him that we could certainly add an egress window in the basement of the home. Our RockWell window wells offer an attractive alternative to ugly window wells while providing a safe, code-compliant basement egress. These window wells are a one-piece, rigid construction that will not collapse from backfill or allow water to leak through the wall walls. They're UV stable, rust, and rot-proof, and stand up to extreme temperatures. RockWell's egress windows feature durable, built-in steps that make it easy for your family to escape from your basement in the event of an emergency. A polycarbonate safety cover keeps leaves and debris out while allowing natural light and fresh air to enter the space. Finally, RockWell has mimicked the look of real stone so you don't have to look out of your new basement windows at a plastic-looking well. The homeowner was impressed with Ryan's approach and signed on the spot for the project.

A month or so later, our Foreman, Juan P, and his team were headed out to the home to install the egress window well. When they had finished the project, the basement was adorned with a new egress window well and our homeowner was thrilled to know his project could continue on schedule!

Our Logistics team scheduled the project for the following month. Once the project date arrived, our assigned Foreman, Luis, and his crew traveled to the home to begin. After they arrived, Luis and his crew started by installing WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. While the WaterGuard was being installed, the crew shifted their focus to taking out the old sump pump and replacing it with the TripleSafe sump pump. Next, the crew attached CarbonArmor to the weakening basement walls. As soon as the CarbonArmor was secured the crew was secured, the crew shifted their focus to attaching CleanSpace to the basement walls. After all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to provide their homeowners peace of mind knowing their basement is dry and secure.

Basement Waterproofing in Taylor, WI

Julie and Brian B. of Taylor, WI had water leaking into their basement, making them worry about water damage, flooding hazards, and other problems. They knew of an employee at American Waterworks, so they set up a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Tim Schneider. Tim went to their home, carefully inspected their basement, and came up with a solution that worked for them and their home repair needs. They were confident in Tim's drawn out design and his proposal, so they signed the contract and followed through with the project.

Our Foreman, Kiko Pena, and his production team began the installation by breaking out the concrete perimeter with a jackhammer, forming a waterway trench. In the trench, our team installed 146 feet of our WaterGuard System, which is made to collect water seepage from basement walls, prevent water clogs, and serve as an underground drain in connection to the sump pump. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier around the basement wall perimeter. Our CleanSpace System is made to prevent mold and humidity, keep water from invading the basement, and direct leaking water into the WaterGuard. To complete the installation, Kiko and his crew covered all the open gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over it, leaving the basement looking much neater than when they found it. Julie and Brian were grateful we were able to help them and were amazed by the transformation!
