David, from Bemidji, MN, was growing more concerned over the state of his crawl space. If a crawl space begins to rot, grow mold, or experience structural problems, issues can extend to all parts of the home. David wanted to understand why it was happening, ensure the issue was corrected, and restore peace of mind. After deciding on our company, we set him up with a FREE inspection. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Richie, headed to the property. Once he completed his walkthrough, he recommended how American Waterworks could help. Richie explained that crawl spaces will show mold, must, and wood rot, even if it is ventilation, because these vents do not work.
Our Foreman, Tanner, went out with his crew to help solve the problems of dampness and must that can lead to things like foundation issues and even radon gas. Tanner and the team cleared the space and implemented our drainage matting. This dimpled matting gets installed onto the crawl space floor, giving any excess water a route to flow through the space and be disposed of at an external site such as a drain or a sump system. The second step was our CleanSpace vapor barrier, a 100% waterproof tarp that traps any excess moisture in the space, redirecting it to the appropriate disposal site. Finally, our team added an Aprilaire dehumidifier, which creates healthy air and can reduce the number of viable viruses to less than 1% in two days when set to 50% relative humidity. This and our crawl space liner will create a drier, healthier crawl space. Our crawl space liner is made with seven layers of tough, durable material designed to withstand traffic from the homeowner and workers -- with a 25-year written, transferable warranty! David was pleased with the results and grateful his peace of mind was restored.
Terry from Wheaton, MN had begun to notice a draft originating from the crawl space below his home. He was worried that his crawl space was the culprit behind high energy bills in the colder months. After doing some research, he decided to call our office to see if we could help. We set him up with our FREE estimate. A few weeks later our Design Specialist, Kole, headed out to the property to see what could be done. When he arrived, he completed a thorough inspection. Once he concluded, he was ready to make some recommendations. He wanted to use our CleanSpace vapor barrier to address the drafty space. He explained that our CleanSpace for crawl spaces gets applied to the walls of the space and works to repel any humidity, moisture, or outside air. Terry agreed and work began a few weeks later.
Our Foreman, Luis, and his team ended up installing 154 ft of our CleanSpace throughout the crawl space. Now Terry can enjoy the winter months without worrying that his drafty crawl space is running up a high energy bill.
James N. of Vergas, MN had a damp and musty crawl space, causing him to worry about mold, humidity, and pests. He went on HomeAdvisor and came across American Waterworks in our North Dakota location. He scheduled a FREE estimate with our Design Specialist, Richie. Richie went to his home, examined his crawl space, and drew up a solution that worked for him and his home repair needs. After a thorough inspection, James was confident in Richie's proposal and had all of his questions answered, so he signed the contract and got a date scheduled for the installation.
Our Foreman, Ryan, and his production team began the project by cleaning out the entire crawl space from back to front. Next, our team installed 1,092 square feet of our CleanSpace Encapsulation Moisture Barrier, which is made to prevent mold and pests, provides more storage space, and keeps the warm and cold air out depending on the season. The installation took two days and James was happy with the work that was done!

He called American Waterworks to schedule a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Richie Noreen. Richie went to his home, inspected his crawl space, and came up with a solution that worked for him and his budget. Mark got all of his questions answered about the encaspulation process, so he went ahead with the project and scheduled an installation date.
Our Foreman, Corey Tollefson, and his production team began the project by applying 1,436 feet of drainage matting on the floor of Mark's crawl space. Our drainage matting is made to direct the water flooding the crawl space to the perimeter crawl space drain and sump pump system. Next, our team installed 2,288 feet of our CleanSpace Encapuslation Vapor Barrier. Our vapor barrier is used to transform the crawl space into a dry, clean, and energy-efficient part of the home. Along with protection from mold and rot, a dry crawl space will also be inhospitable to termites, cockroaches, ants, crickets, and many other pests that need excess moisture to survive.
A customer from Audubon, MN got in contact with us when he began to notice water entering his crawl space, creating musty odors and rotting wood. He was afraid that if left the condition untouched, it might compromise the structural integrity of the space. When he called our Appointment Center, we set him up with our FREE estimate, entitling him to a thorough inspection of the issue. Once the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Kole, headed out to the property to do a walkthrough. Once completed, Kole was able to make recommendations about how to fix the issue. He recommended the use of our CleanSpace vapor barrier. He explained that, along with our Drainage Matting, these two would work together to trap and drain the unwanted water from the space to the appropriate disposal site. The customer agreed and work began shortly after.
Our Production crew, led by our Foreman, Arturo, ended up wrapping the crawl space in 463 sqft of CleanSpace, and installing 346 sqft of our drainage matting. They ended the job by sealing up any remaining cracks and holes with our spray foam, a hardening foam that works to block water intrusion. Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that unwanted water intrusion was a worry of the past!
