Our Foreman, Ryan, and his production team began the project by cleaning out the entire crawl space from back to front. Next, our team installed 1,092 square feet of our CleanSpace Encapsulation Moisture Barrier, which is made to prevent mold and pests, provides more storage space, and keeps the warm and cold air out depending on the season. The installation took two days and James was happy with the work that was done!

Mark M. of Detroit Lakes, MN had water leaking from his crawl space walls and floor, causing him to worry about water moisture and humidity problems in his home. He called American Waterworks to schedule a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Richie Noreen. Our Foreman, Corey Tollefson, and his production team began the project by applying 1,436 feet of drainage matting on the floor of Mark's crawl space. Our drainage matting is made to direct the water flooding the crawl space to the perimeter crawl space drain and sump pump system. Next, our team installed 2,288 feet of our CleanSpace Encapuslation Vapor Barrier. Our vapor barrier is used to transform the crawl space into a dry, clean, and energy-efficient part of the home. Along with protection from mold and rot, a dry crawl space will also be inhospitable to termites, cockroaches, ants, crickets, and many other pests that need excess moisture to survive.
A customer from Audubon, MN got in contact with us when he began to notice water entering his crawl space, creating musty odors and rotting wood. He was afraid that if left the condition untouched, it might compromise the structural integrity of the space. When he called our Appointment Center, we set him up with our FREE estimate, entitling him to a thorough inspection of the issue. Once the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Kole, headed out to the property to do a walkthrough. Once completed, Kole was able to make recommendations about how to fix the issue. He recommended the use of our CleanSpace vapor barrier. He explained that, along with our Drainage Matting, these two would work together to trap and drain the unwanted water from the space to the appropriate disposal site. The customer agreed and work began shortly after.
Our Production crew, led by our Foreman, Arturo, ended up wrapping the crawl space in 463 sqft of CleanSpace, and installing 346 sqft of our drainage matting. They ended the job by sealing up any remaining cracks and holes with our spray foam, a hardening foam that works to block water intrusion. Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that unwanted water intrusion was a worry of the past!
Jeff M. of Audubon, MN, met our team at one of our Home Show events. After learning about what the American Waterworks team does, he realized that his crawlspace desperately needed our attention. Before we stepped in, Jeff's crawlspace was subjected to the elements, leading to an increase in moisture AND energy bills.
We sent out our Design Specialist, Kole, to provide a free estimate, diagnose the problem, and come up with a solution. After a careful inspection, Kole proposed our CleanSpace Vapor System. Jeff felt confident that all his questions were answered, so he scheduled the installation date.
Our foreman, Aurturo, and his production team installed drainage matting and 463 square feet of our CleanSpace system to encapsulate the crawlspace. Our CleanSpace Vapor System is mechanically connected to walls with plastic fasteners, so it never falls. It also prevents humidity from invading the walls and gives the area a clean and bright appearance with a 25-year warranty. Jeff was happy that his home was protected against things like rot, mold, and structural issues, and his peace of mind was restored.

A Red Lake, MN, homeowner had noticed a peculiar smell wafting through his home. Try as he may, he could not find the source of the odor. After a heavy night of rain, he realized that it might not be something in the home that was expired but potentially something in his crawl space beneath the home. He began to look for MN crawl space contractors and quickly found our website. He was impressed with other crawl space sealing jobs we had done and decided to schedule his FREE estimate.
Several weeks later, Ian S, one of our Design Specialists, was headed out to the home. When he arrived, he wasted no time gearing up and getting down into the crawl space to assess the issue. Quickly, the homeowner's worries were confirmed. Small holes or cracks in the crawl space had led to standing water and the growth of mold and mildew, which the odor could be attributed to. Ian recommended three of our products that he believed would help the issue. First, Ian recommended our CleanSpace. This 100% waterproof tarp-like material gets installed directly onto the walls and floors of the crawl space. It acts to collect water entering through small holes and cracks in the foundation of the home, keeping it out of the crawl space. Ian knew that if the liner was flush with the crawl space ground, trapped water would, again, have nowhere to go. For this reason, he recommended our drainage matting be installed below the CleanSpace on the ground of the space. The raised dimples on our drainage matting give the water flooding into your crawl space a channel underneath your crawl space liner. Now that Ian had created a channel for water to flow, he needed a means of disposal. In this case, Ian recommended our SuperSump sump pump be placed in the space This powerful, yet economical, pump is engineered to help keep your home dry and healthy for extended periods. It boasts a powerful Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. The homeowner liked the sound of Ian's plan and decided to schedule the job for later in the year.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Kingsley, led his team through the installation of 1 SuperSump pump, 1128 sqft of CleanSpace, and another 900 sqft of drainage matting. Now, our customers can enjoy an odor-free home!
