The customer was concerned about water problems and a bowing foundation wall. American Waterworks was able to straighten the wall, waterproof the foundation, and apply a vapor barrier.

A homeowner from Plainview, MN, was down in her basement one day when she noticed some old cracks on the wall had begun to worsen. She was concerned about what the cracks worsening could mean. One of her close friends just so happened to be one of our Design Specialists, Darin S. She confided in him about her worries for her home, and he reassured her that he could assess the situation and see what could be done. 

On the day of her FREE inspection appointment, Darin made sure to do a thorough sweep through the basement, paying close attention to the cracks the homeowner was the most worried about. He informed her that foundation walls are designed to support loads from above, not the side. When the pressure on your walls exceeds their ability to withstand the force, they will begin to crack, bow, slide in at the bottom, and/or tilt inward at the top. Darin went on to say that while this information might seem daunting, he was confident that our GeoLock wall anchors were the correct choice to restore the wall. Wall anchors can counteract soil pressure by anchoring the wall to the stable, undisturbed soil beyond your home's foundation. A homeowner in Wabasha, MN, noticed a funky smell around their home. Unsure of the cause of the smell, the homeowner began to do some investigating. Upon further investigation, the homeowner discovered the scent was strongest in the basement. Having a hunch this may lead to a bigger issue, the homeowner wanted to have a basement expert inspect their home. First, the crew cleaned the debris out of the crawl space. Once the crawl space was cleared, the crew could install the CleanSpace and Drainage Matting. Then, the crew shifted their focus to installing the Radon Mitigation System outside the home. Once the Radon Mitigation System was properly installed, the crew was able to clean up their job site and leave the home.
