Tim, from Glencoe, MN enlisted our help when he began to notice that one of his basement walls was severely bowing inward, perhaps being close to failing. He was afraid that if he left the issue unresolved, the wall could potentially completely fail and seriously compromise the structural integrity of the home. When he called in, he cashed in on his FREE estimate, entitling him to a 3-hour thorough investigation into the issue. Once he had set up his appointment, our Design Specialist, Shane, went out to the property to do a walkthrough. Once he completed his inspection, he was able to make several recommendations as to how we could help Tim. First, he wanted to address the failing wall with our PowerBrace wall repair system. He explained to Tim that this system is made up of steel I-beams that will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustments. He went on to say that this particular system can be tightened over time to make bowing or tilting walls straighter or more vertical. He also recommended using our CleanSpace wall vapor barrier to address any potential water leakage into the basement because of the cracks in the foundation wall. This tarp-like barrier works to trap moisture behind the material and direct it down to the appropriate place. Tim agreed with Shane's recommendations and gave the green light to start renovations.
Our team, led by our Foreman, Lane, ended up installing 4 of our PowerBrace systems, along with 96ft of our CleanSpace in the basement. When the work had been completed, Tim was happy with the work we had done and was relieved to know that his foundation worries were in the past.
A homeowner in Gelcole, MN, was doing laundry in their basement when they noticed a stairstep crack growing on their back foundation wall. Concerned that this issue would worsen, the homeowner decided to reach out to a professional to have the wall inspected. Not sure who they should work with, the homeowner tried to narrow down their choices using HomeAdvisor. After putting in their requirements, the first company on the list was American Waterworks. Once they saw that we listed the services they were looking for, the homeowner decided to call our Appointment Center and sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of Dylan, one of our Design Specialists. After Dylan arrived, he began inspecting the back foundation wall and discovered it was showing early signs of wall failure. Since Dylan discovered the source of the issue, he could come up with a suggested solution. To stop the wall failure from progressing, Dylan suggested ten Geolock anchors be installed on the north and east walls. Knowing this would stop the wall from further failing, the homeowner agreed with Dylan's suggestions. Once they received the okay, the plans were directed to Arturo and his crew. Arturo and his crew arrived to begin the GeoLock installation. The crew installed four GeoLocks on the north wall and six on the east wall. Once all the GeoLocks were installed, the crew cleaned up their site and left the home. The homeowners were relieved to know their wall was no longer at risk of failure. American Waterworks is happy to give homeowners peace of mind.
