A homeowner in Fayette, IA, realized it was time to schedule their annual maintenance appointment with us, American Waterworks. After checking the sticker on their already-installed products, the homeowner called our Service Center and set their annual maintenance appointment. Once the estimate was finalized, the homeowner waited for the arrival of one of our service technicians, Alex, to begin the inspection. Alex arrived at the home and began his thorough investigation of the products. During his inspection, Alex discovered the walls were struggling from cracks and needed to be stabilized to prevent further damage. Alex completed the inspection and presented his findings to the homeowner. Alex recommended stabilizing the walls using CarbonArmor and the homeowner agreed. Once the homeowner approved the plans, Alex passed them along to the office to build the project. After the office built the project, they assisted our Foreman, Raul, and his crew in completing the installation. Raul and his crew traveled to the home and began the installation. First Raul and his crew began the project by installing Carbon Armour along the north foundation wall. Once the Carbon Armor was installed, the crew ensured everything was cleaned up and products were set. The crew completed the installation, so they cleaned up all their materials and left the home. The homeowner was grateful for the excellent work completed by the crew. If you are due for your annual maintenance appointment, sign up for yours today!
Cal and Marcy A. of Holmen, WI had a bowed and cracked foundation wall in their basement, causing them to worry about the structural integrity of their home. They got our wall anchors installed, which are the most versatile wall repair system that we provide for homeowners because they can be installed to stabilize walls with a variety of problems, such as bowing, tipping, and cracking walls.
When installed, anchors are embedded in the soil outside of the foundation wall and are connected by a long, steel rod to a wall plate. This provides the necessary pressure against the inside of the foundation wall, which enables it to straighten back into its natural position. The anchors are then tightened with a torque wrench and can be tightened by the homeowner over time to ensure the system is sticking to its design.
