Anna S. of Jamestown, ND had a failing foundation wall in her apartment that needed to be stabilized. She called American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian Schultz. Ian went to Anna's apartment, carefully inspected her wall, and determined a solution that would work for Anna and her home repair needs. Ian proposed our PowerBraces Wall Repair System, which keeps bowing walls straight. Anna was confident in Ian's proposal, so she signed his contract, wrote out a deposit check, and went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Ryan Loe, and his production team installed ten of our PowerBraces around the foundation wall perimeter. Our PowerBraces are designed to straighten the walls and can be tightened over time by the homeowner.
The installation process:
Step 1: Our team cuts the wall braces to ensure the PowerBrace is cut to size based on the wall height.
Step 2: Our team attaches a brace to the floor joist near the top of the wall and the bracket gets bolted to the floor joist.
Step 3: Our crew will use a level to ensure the position of each beam is balanced and straight.
Step 4: To complete the installation, our team attaches each beam to the concrete floor with a bracket that bolts in place.
Step 5: Our team will tighten the beam with a torque wrench, which forces the wall back into its original position.
Kelly S. of Jamestown, ND wanted her crawl space encapsulated and her sagging floors lifted. She knew of our Design Specialist, Ian, so she had him come out to her house for a FREE estimate and inspection. While Ian was there, he looked around and diagnosed the problems in the crawl space, and drew up a detailed solution. Kelly was confident in Ian's proposal, so she signed the contract, put down a deposit, and went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Ryan, and his crew started the project by installing our Crawl Space Support Posts, which lift and stabilize the sagging floors and floor joists. This system can hold up to loads of 60,000 pounds and is corrosion-resistant. It is also compatible with our crawl space encapsulation system, which in this case, Kelly did want hers encapsulated as well. Next, our crew installed our encapsulation vapor barrier around the entire crawl space, which is made to prevent mold, humidity, and pests, provide extra storage space, and save money on energy bills. Gordon H. in Hardwick, MN had cracks in two of his basement walls. He didn't think much of the cracks at first, but over time, the walls started bowing inward. Gordon knew how expensive replacing a foundation can be, so he started looking for a foundation repair contractor. While doing research online, he was directed to American Waterworks and he was pleased to see that we are foundation repair experts.
He contacted us to receive a FREE onsite estimate, so we sent our Design Specialist, Eric Hazelton, to his home to find a solution for him.
Eric recommended that we install 11 wall anchors along the two cracked walls in order to permanently secure the foundation. Gordon like Eric's proposal and felt it was a good fit for him, so we went ahead with the installation.
Our team dug holes outside of the home where the rods would be anchored to the soil. Next, they drilled the rods through the basement walls into the soil and then locked them in with the anchors from the inside and the outside. The anchor is then tightened, and the wall straightens. The anchor system ensures that Gordon's walls are now permanently secured and stabilized. Our anchor system is backed by a lifetime warranty, so Gordon has peace of mind that it will never be a concern again.
