Becky D. of Marshall, MN had leaking basement walls and floors, as well as a sagging floor. She got in contact with our office staff and set up a FREE estimate with our Design Specialist, Eric. Eric went to Becky's home to inspect the problems and determine a solution. Our Design Specialist proposed our WaterGuard Below-Floor System and CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier to repair the water leaks and our SmartJack System to straighten the sagging floor. Becky was confident in the proposal, so she went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Jose, and his production team broke out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer, forming a trench. Our crew installed our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain in the trench and installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the basement wall perimeter. Our WaterGuard is an interior drainage system designed to prevent mud clogs and collect water seepage from basement walls. Our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier is designed to prevent moisture and humidity, cover any holes or divots in the foundation, and brightens the basement. Lastly, Jose and his crew installed our SmartJacks to restore the sagging floors. Our SmartJacks support sagging and undersized beams, restoring the stability and straightness of sagging floor joists. To complete the installation, our team filled the open gaps in the floor with river rock and applied new concrete over them. Becky was happy with the work, and was grateful we could help her with her home repair needs!
A homeowner in Brooten, MN, was prepping their home for the incoming winter seasons when they noticed a stairstep crack ascending their south basement wall. Uneasy about the discovery, the homeowner without hesitation searched for a company to fix this issue. The homeowners came across our website and signed up for a FREE estimate. We sent our Service Technician, Marc, to take a look at the wall and propose a solution to the homeowners. Marc determined that the south block wall would need to be stabilized with two PowerBraces and footings would need to be poured for each PowerBrace. Foreman, Juan, and his crew successfully positioned the PowerBraces underneath the stairs and inspected the crawl space. The homeowners were very pleased with the crew's work and American Waterworks is happy to leave another customer satisfied.
A homeowner in Balaton, MN, was down in her basement doing laundry when she noticed the large cracks forming along her basement walls. Worried that it could worsen, she began her research for services in the area. She found our website and was impressed with our reviews and "Before and After" stories. She immediately contacted us and claimed her FREE estimate. In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Eric H. traveled to the home to assess the foundation.
Eric had informed the homeowner that the moisture content of the soil caused it to expand and put pressure on the wall. When that pressure exceeds what the wall can withstand, it is common to see cracking, bowing, tilting inwards, and sliding at the bottom of the foundation wall. Eric suggested our PowerBrace, steel-I beams that will stabilize walls in their current position. The PowerBrace is customized to fit the height of the wall. Then, the top of each brace is attached to the top of the wall using a specially designed bracket that is bolted to the floor joist. This bracket contains a large-diameter bolt for adjusting and tightening after the installation. The steel-I beam is then straightened before it is attached to the floor. Once it is attached to the floor, the brackets that anchor each I-beam to a floor are tightened. This forces a tilted or bowed wall back to its vertical and straight position. It can also be tightened over time to make bowing or tilting walls straighter. The homeowner was thankful for Eric's explanation and solution and agreed to his plan.
In about a month, our Foreman, Jeremiah F., and his team arrived at the home to install 11 PowerBrace's in the basement of the home. Now, our customer can happily do her laundry, knowing that her walls are secured.

Jerry T. in Granite Falls, MN noticed that one of his garage foundation walls had a large exterior crack and it was bowing outward. He was concerned that the damaged wall was putting too much pressure on his foundation and did not want to get stuck in a situation where he had to replace the entire foundation. He contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate, so we had one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, go to his home to develop the right solution unique to Jerry’s home. Jerry was pleased to hear that we could permanently secure his foundation by installing wall anchors, so he scheduled to have our foundation repair system installed.
Our production team started the installation process by drilling long metal rods into the soil underneath the garage floor and through the block foundation wall. They removed small rectangles of concrete from the garage floor where they would secure the other end of the rods. They screwed anchor plates on to the rods and tightened them as far as they would go. Lastly, they replaced the concrete in the garage and cleaned up. The process was quick and efficient. Jerry was very pleased with the results and is glad he chose to protect his foundation by having it permanently repaired.
