Mary and Gene of Laporte, MN, had sagging floors in a room in their lake house, and they wanted to get it lifted to prevent any further settlement. The couple decided to call American Waterworks to claim their FREE estimate. This entitled Mary and Gene to a free home inspection. Once the appointment was set, our Design Specialist, Ian, headed to the property and began a thorough home inspection to diagnose the house and propose a proper solution. Ian explained that the reason for their troubles was in part because the home was sitting on wood and suggested that they invest in our SmartJack system. Our SmartJack system is made to provide support for oversized or sagging beams, restoring stability and straightness. This system is also unique because it's made with strong, corrosion-resistant, galvanized steel, so rusting isn't a worry. This means the SmartJack system can be tightened for years to come.
Mary and Gene agreed and scheduled an appointment for installation.
Our Foreman and his crew went to the property and got to work. The team permanently stabilized the floors using 6 SmartJacks, 28 Joist Assist Brackets, and a 36-ft Supplemental Beam in the crawlspace below. Mary and Gene were so happy with the work and felt a sense of peace about the safety of their lake home!

A homeowner in Park Rapids, MN, was cleaning their basement when they noticed their walls were beginning to bend inwards. Concerned by this discovery, the homeowner wanted to solve the issue before it progressed. The homeowner was doing research into the many companies in the area and noticed our five-star reviews. Impressed by our customer's kind words, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate on our website. Once the estimate details were finalized, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of one of our Design Specialists. As soon as the Design Specialist arrived, he began his analysis of the home's foundation. After completing the detailed inspection, the Design Specialist determined that the foundation walls were caving into the home due to hydrostatic pressure. After finding the cause, the Design Specialist recommended permanently stabilizing the foundation walls. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner agreed with the Design Specialists recommendations, and the plans were sent to the assigned crew. Our Foreman, Franklin, and his crew arrived at the home to begin the foundation repair. First, the crew started by excavating the failing wall in the basement. Next, the crew installed 18 PowerBraces along the entire west wall, and sections of the west and east wall. Once all the PowerBraces were put into place, the crew installed the SentrySeal Waterproofing Membrane around the exterior foundation. The crew cleaned up their job site and left the home. The homeowners were relieved to know their basement was no longer at risk of wall failure. American Waterworks is happy to provide another homeowner peace of mind.

Bob M. of Fergus Falls, MN had a cracked foundation wall in his basement, making him worry about the structural build of his home. He did some research on our website and came across around foundation repair products. He called our office line to set up a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson. Chad went to Bob's home, examined his foundation wall, and came up with the solution of our GeoLock Wall Anchor System. Bob was confident in Chad's proposal and got all of his questions answered, so he went ahead with an installation date.
Our Foreman, Brian Colliton, and his production team began the process by digging five holes outside of the home and inserting a long, metal rod from the inside foundation to each hole outside. At the ends of each rod, our team tightened and screwed on a GeoLock Wall Anchor. The wall anchor system permanently stabilizes the foundation wall by anchoring the wall to the hard-packed, compact soil beyond the foundation. To complete the installation, Brian and his team backfilled each hole, replaced the soil, and made sure the yard looked neater than when they found it. Bob was very satisfied with the project and no longer has to worry about the support of his home.
Keynote for homeowners: After installation, wall anchors can be tightened over time to further straighten your foundation walls and pull them back to their normal positions.
