Renae from Redby, MN got in contact with us when she began to notice that the distribution center she worked at was beginning to show signs of sinkage in particular places. She feared that if the issue was left unresolved, the building might become structurally compromised, or be more expensive to fix later down the road. When she called in, we set her up with our FREE estimate. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property to complete his thorough no-obligation walkthrough. Once he completed his inspection, he recommended the use of our helical piers to correct the sinking portion of the building. He explained that because the portion being lifted was so small, the helical pier would be the best choice because of its ability to be pulled into the soil during installation, providing anchoring strength as the weight of the foundation is transferred to the pier. He went on to say that the helical pier is very versatile and typically used for lighter loads. Renae agreed and work began a few weeks later. Our Foreman, Cameron, and his crew worked diligently to install 4 of our helical piers around the troubled portion of the foundation. Once the job was completed, Renae was happy to know that she could resume business without worrying about her sinking foundation!
Mike, a homeowner in Rothsay, MN, needed support for his home's basement space. The wall in the basement was failing and he could see daylight through the cracking mortar. To top it off, his back steps were consequently uneven due to the foundation issues. He decided to call American Waterworks and claimed his FREE estimate, entitling him to a thorough inspection of the issue. Our Design Specialist, Richie, headed to the property and did a full walkthrough, making sure to give recommendations based on how we can tackle the issue to prevent the basement walls from worsening. Once the entire inspection was complete and Richie had all the information he needed, he explained to Mike how we could help. Mike was excited to begin and see how we would transform the space.
Foreman Domenic and his crew arrived at the property soon after to get started. First, they ensured the area was cleared and prepped for work. Mike had decided to invest in our PolyLevel solution for his back steps; the product is an expanding polyurethane foam that is injected underneath concrete to fill the voids underneath the slab that were caused by soil erosion. Next, the team began installing our SmartJack system. Our SmartJack system is made to provide support for oversized or sagging beams, restoring stability and straightness. The team added one of our SmartJacks along the support beam of the home. Before installing the SmartJack, the production team dug a hole two feet deep. Then they backfilled the hole with engineer fill which is designed to dissipate the amount of force the SmartJack is experiencing. Finally, the team used seven of our GeoLock Wall Anchors along the north, east, and west walls to correct the issue and prevent it from worsening. This innovative system permanently stabilizes foundation walls by anchoring them to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation. The anchors can also be tightened over time. Mike was happy with the results of the project and grateful he no longer has to worry about the state of his home.
Rod B. of Breckenridge, MN had cracked foundation walls in his basement, making him consider the value of his home. He did some research online and came across our FREE Estimate request form on our website. Our Design Specialist, Rick Weber, went to his home to inspect his problem and come up with a solution. After a thorough diagnosis, Rod felt comfortable with Rick's proposal, so he scheduled an installation date.
Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his production team began the installation by digging 6 holes in the backyard. Next, they inserted a long, metal rod from the inside of the foundation wall to each hole outside of the home. Then, our crew tightened and screwed on a GeoLock Wall Anchor to the ends of each rod to straighten and pull the foundation wall back to its normal position. Our wall anchors can be tightened over time by the homeowner to be sure they are still functioning properly. To complete the project, Juan and his team backfilled the holes and replaced the soil.

Jayson N. of Breckenridge, MN wanted to straighten and secure his wood foundation, so he researched contractors who could perform that specific kind of service. He came across American Waterworks, so he scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian Schultz. Ian proposed our Foundation Repair Wall Anchor System, which is designed to permanently stabilize basement walls without the disruption or cost of replacement. Jayson was confident in the product, so he went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Ryan Loe, and his production team went about the repairs and were able to fix the foundation wall in three days. When installed, each anchor is connected by a steel rod to a wall plate that provides enough pressure against the inside of the foundation wall to bring it back to its normal position. Wall anchors are the most versatile wall repair method because they can be used to straighten walls with a variety of problems, such as bowing walls, tipping walls, and walls that are pushing in at the bottom. Jayson was happy with the work that was performed and had a great experience with our team!
