A homeowner in West Fargo, ND, was watching television when they saw a commercial discussing the dangers of radon. Radon is a tasteless, odorless, and invisible gas that is the second leading cause of cancer. Worried their home was at risk, the homeowner began looking into "radon mitigation testing near me". One of the first companies to grab their attention was us, American Waterworks. After reading our radon mitigation installation reviews, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Radon Sales & Service Technician, Jackson. The following week, Jackson promptly arrived at the home and began the radon test. While the radon test was being completed, Jackson found the best place to install the Radon Mitigation System. The test was completed, and the results showed that the levels were higher than 4pCi/l. Jackson recommended installing our Radon Mitigation System on the north wall. The homeowner agreed, then the project was scheduled for a few weeks later. When the project date arrived, Jackson traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Jackson began by installing the Radon Mitigation System outside the home. After the system was secured, Jackson cleaned up his materials and left the home. American Waterworks is happy to provide their homeowners peace of mind knowing their radon risk is eliminated.

A customer in Fargo, ND, contacted us with concerns about possible Radon being prevalent in her home. Our Design Specialist, Ian, went to the property and completed a charcoal test to gauge the levels in her home. After 5 days, Ian returned to gather the test. Once the results came back, Ian found out that the levels in the house were 6.2 pCi/L. The Nation Radon Defense suggests taking action with levels of 4 pCi/L or more. Ian recommended that she invest in a Radon mitigation system to keep herself and her household safe and healthy. Our Foreman, Cameron, went out to the property to install the mitigation system. Our team will check back with the customer in the future to ensure that her Radon mitigation system is still working hard to keep her home safe!
A Moorhead, MN, man had just learned of the dangers that radon gases pose to households. He wanted to ensure the safety of his family, so he headed to a local home improvement store to pick up a short-term radon test. After following the instructions on the package, he was alarmed to find out that the radon level in his home was 5 pCi/L. He didn't want his family to breathe in unhealthy air for longer than necessary, so he began to look for a radon mitigation company that could give him more radon gas information. Through his search, he found our website and signed up for his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, Jackson P, one of our Design Specialists, headed out to the home to see what could be done.
Once he finished his inspection, Jackson was ready to discuss the next steps with the homeowner. Jackson informed the homeowner that he wanted to install a radon mitigation system. When installed by an experienced radon mitigation specialist, a radon abatement system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. Before installing a radon mitigation system, the contractor will run a radon test to determine if radon abatement is necessary. A typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. The homeowner agreed with Jackson's recommendations and scheduled the job for some time later.
On the day of the project, Jackson returned to install the system. He completed the project with no complications. Now, our customer can confidently breathe fresh air circulating in his home!
