Radon Gas Mitigated in Albert Lea, MN

A homeowner from Albert Lea, MN, was chatting with his neighbor one day when he learned his neighbors had their home tested and mitigated for radon gas. The homeowner didn't know much about the dangers of radon gas but decided to find a specialist in the area to ease his concerns. When he found our website, he was impressed with the previous radon systems we had installed in his area and decided to claim his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, Brad W, one of our Design Specialists, was headed to the home.

When Brad headed out to the home, the first step in his process was to place a continuous radon monitoring test in the lowest level of the home. Brad explained that the point of the test is to record the levels of radon in the home over a 48-hour timeframe, and at the end, deliver the average level of radon within the home. Brad went on to say that if the test came back with a level higher than 4 pCi/L, he would strongly urge the homeowner to consider installing a radon mitigation system. Brad explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. The homeowner liked the sound of Brad's plan but decided to wait until the radon results returned. When the test results came back, they were well above the recommended 4 pCi/L, so the homeowner and Brad worked together to find the right date for the installation.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Geno M, and his team were able to effortlessly install the mitigation system in the home. Now, our customer can breathe a bit easier knowing that his home is only circulating the cleanest air!

Cracked Driveway Lifted and Sealed in Albert Lea, MN

A homeowner in Albert Lea, MN, had grown concerned for her driveway as it was uneven and formed large cracks. She was worried this would be a tripping hazard for her friends and family, so she decided to search for "Concrete repair services near me" and found our website. After browsing our website, she was impressed with our 5-star reviews and decided to schedule her FREE estimate.

Our Design Specialist, Tony B., arrived at the home and conducted a thorough inspection of the driveway. He informed the homeowner that those issues were common due to soil washout. When it rains heavily or floods, water moves through the ground under the concrete slabs. It then washes away the support soils holding up the concrete and creates space underneath the slab. As this continues, the concrete begins to sink and eventually leads to cracks in one or more parts of the slab. For this reason, Tony recommended our PolyLevel to lift the concrete, NexusPro to seal the cracks and joints, and SealantPro to protect the surface. The homeowner was thankful for his explanation and decided to move forward with the project. Tony's design was then sent to our Foreman, Ryan T., to apply the sealant and Sam K. to lift the concrete and seal the joints and cracks.

In about a month, Ryan T. and his crew arrived at the home to apply the sealant. Our SealantPro is designed to protect the concrete from water, gas, and oil from penetrating the surface. Once Ryan and his crew were done with the application, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home. In a couple of weeks, our Foreman, Sam K., and his crew arrived to carry out the rest of the installation. They began by drilling small holes into the concrete slab and installing the injection ports. Once the injection ports were installed, they injected PolyLevel beneath the slab. The crew ensures that the concrete slab is leveled even before sealing the small holes with concrete. Lastly, the crew seals the cracks and joints using NexusPro. After they were done, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
