A homeowner from Ashley, ND got in contact with us when they began to notice standing water present in their basement. Wanting to get control of the situation before it could worsen, they decided to reach out to American Waterworks to see what could be done about the situation. Our Design Specialist, Kole, headed to the property to assess the situation. Once he completed his walkthrough, he recommended the use of several products to correct the situation. He informed them that the water entering the space was likely through holes in the failing foundation. Kole wanted to utilize our GeoLock Wall Anchors, CleanSpace system, WaterGuard drain, and our TripleSafe sump pump. He explained that other than the wall anchors, all three waterproofing systems work hand in hand to ensure that the basement stays dry. The Clean Space, a 100% waterproof tarp-like barrier, gets tact to the wall to direct water entering through the block wall, directing it down to the WaterGuard drain system. The WaterGuard, our elite below-ground French drain, works to direct the flow of water to our TripleSafe sump, our most reliable system that provides three levels of protection for your basement and your peace of mind. He finished by saying that our GeoLock anchors would complete the basement and address the foundation issue because it will permanently stabilize your foundation wall by anchoring your walls to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond your foundation. After installation, wall anchors can often be tightened over time to further straighten your foundation walls and pull them back to their original position. The homeowner agreed, and work began a few weeks later.
Our Foreman and his team made quick work of the installation. In the end, they installed 20 GeoLock anchors, 89 feet of WaterGuard, 1 TripleSafe sump, and another 89 feet of CleanSpace around the basement. Now our customer can enjoy their basement worry free!

Lonnie, from Des Lacs, ND was beginning to notice that his basement was taking on an unusual amount of water. He didn't want to run the risk of doing permanent damage to the property, so he decided to give us a call. We set him up with our FREE estimate and a few weeks later our Design Specialist, Richie, headed out to the property to complete his inspection. Once he finished his walkthrough, he made recommendations as to how we could help Lonnie. Richie recommended two of our products. First, he wanted to use our Foamax insulated panels. He explained to Lonnie that our Foamax makes your basement warmer and brighter. The panels create a barrier between the moist air in your basement and the cold surface of the walls, preventing condensation and providing a more comfortable basement. Second, Richie wanted to use our WaterGuard below-floor French drain system. Richie went on to say that this drain gets installed below the floor of the basement, atop of the footing of the foundation, but out of the mud zone where other drains tend to clog. He finished by saying that this drain will work to collect unwanted water running down the wall and dispose of it in the proper place. Lonnie agreed with the recommendations and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman and his team worked to install all the necessary products. In the end, they installed 192 ft of WaterGuard and another 192 ft of Foamax throughout the basement. Once the job was done, Lonnie was pleased to know he no longer had to worry about a damp basement!
