Lonnie, from Des Lacs, ND was beginning to notice that his basement was taking on an unusual amount of water. He didn't want to run the risk of doing permanent damage to the property, so he decided to give us a call. We set him up with our FREE estimate and a few weeks later our Design Specialist, Richie, headed out to the property to complete his inspection. Once he finished his walkthrough, he made recommendations as to how we could help Lonnie. Richie recommended two of our products. First, he wanted to use our Foamax insulated panels. He explained to Lonnie that our Foamax makes your basement warmer and brighter. The panels create a barrier between the moist air in your basement and the cold surface of the walls, preventing condensation and providing a more comfortable basement. Second, Richie wanted to use our WaterGuard below-floor French drain system. Richie went on to say that this drain gets installed below the floor of the basement, atop of the footing of the foundation, but out of the mud zone where other drains tend to clog. He finished by saying that this drain will work to collect unwanted water running down the wall and dispose of it in the proper place. Lonnie agreed with the recommendations and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman and his team worked to install all the necessary products. In the end, they installed 192 ft of WaterGuard and another 192 ft of Foamax throughout the basement. Once the job was done, Lonnie was pleased to know he no longer had to worry about a damp basement!

Tessa, from Kenmare, ND, was having trouble with her basement walls. Specifically, she noticed a bow in the foundation walls of her home. The bowing of the wall resulted in cracks within the foundation, allowing water to seep through, causing a wet basement. Tessa contacted the Appointment Center here at American Waterworks to express her concern and claimed her FREE estimate.
Our Design Specialist, Richie, examined her home and explained that the ground beneath your home comprises many different soil layers. With time, these layers of soil can wash out, soften, and shrink, causing the foundation to settle or crack. Taking all this into consideration, Richie recommended a solution to stabilize her basement walls to fit her repair needs and restore peace of mind.
Our Foreman, Tanner, and his crew headed out to the property and got to work! They began to strategically place PowerBraces around the basement, inserting a total of 5, 9' PowerBraces to further stabilize the wall. The PowerBrace is a patented foundation wall repair system that's designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten walls over time. These steel l-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustment. Over time, the PowerBrace System can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straighter, more vertical, and improve stability. Tessa's peace of mind has been restored now that her foundation has been permanently repaired.
A homeowner in Minot, ND had water leaking from their bowing foundation walls, causing them to worry about damage and the structural support of their home. They got in touch with our office staff and scheduled a FREE Estimate with one of our Design Specialists. He went to the homeowner's home, carefully examined the problems, and came up with a solution that fit their needs. The homeowner got all of their questions answered and was confident in the products and their warranties, so they went ahead with the project and scheduled an installation date.
Our Foreman and his production team began the project by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Drainage System, which is made to prevent water or mud clogs, collect water seepage from basement walls, and serve as a drain that connects to the sump pump. Next, our team installed and tightened our PowerBraces against the foundation walls, which are made to straighten bowing walls over time. To complete the project, our Foreman and his crew covered the open gaps with rock and applied new concrete over it. The homeowner was happy with the repairs and was thrilled with the transformation!
