A West Salem, WI, homeowner was surfing the web one day when she stumbled upon an article about radon gas. She read about the hazards that radon gas poses to a household and that the Midwest has some of the highest radon levels in the US due to the geological makeup of the area. The homeowner decided to locate a radon specialist in Wisconsin. Through an internet search, she found our website. She was impressed with our radon gas mitigation system images and decided to sign up for our FREE estimate. While she waited for her appointment, she headed to her local home improvement store to purchase an at-home radon monitoring test.
Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ross J, was scheduled to head out to the home. When he arrived, he learned that the homeowner had conducted a home test which had indicated higher-than-average radon levels. So, Ross began his appointment looking for the appropriate place to out a mitigation system. When he finished his walkthrough, he met with the homeowner. Ross explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. When installed by an experienced radon mitigation specialist, a radon abatement system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. The homeowner was impressed with Ross's solution and signed on the spot.
The day of the installation eventually rolled around. Our Foreman, Geno, and his team wasted no time getting to work installing the system. After a long day for our crew, our customer was delighted to know that she could put her faith in the air her and her family were breathing in each day!
A homeowner from West Salem, WI, had been worried about his basement walls for some time now. Over the years, the homeowner had watched as the walls slowly cracked in various places, leading the wall to bow inward. Not wanting the issue to worsen, the homeowner decided to find a foundation repair company in Wisconsin to help. Through the recommendation of a friend, the homeowner signed up for one of our FREE estimates, and several weeks later Mac C, one of our Design Specialists, was out to the home.
Mac diligently inspected the entire house, paying close attention to the basement walls. When he concluded, he met with the homeowner and informed him that foundation walls are designed to withstand loads from the top, not from the side. So when the pressure on the side of the wall exceeds what the wall can withstand, it's not uncommon for homeowners to see cracking, bowing, sliding in at the bottom, and/or tilting inward at the top. Mac then went on to say that he had the perfect solution, our PowerBrace system. Mac explained that PowerBraces are a patented foundation wall repair system that's designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten walls over time. These steel I-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustment. Over time, the PowerBrace System can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straighter and more vertical. The homeowner agreed with the proposed work and set a date for the installation.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Francisco E, and his team arrived bright and early at the home. After a long day, the team had effortlessly installed 6 of our PowerBraces throughout the basement on the affected walls. Now, our customer can rest a bit easier at night knowing that his foundation has the proper line of defense!
