A new homeowner from Minneapolis, MN, went down to her basement after a particularly hard rain and was shocked to notice that she had standing water in several parts of her basement. Frazzled by her discovery, she quickly took to the internet to search for Minneapolis basement waterproofing. After a few hours of combing through different websites, she landed on our page. She was thoroughly impressed by our basement waterproofing before and after images and decided to sign up for our FREE estimates. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Derek V, headed out to the home. After conducting his inspection, he met with the homeowner to discuss his findings. Derek wanted to use several of our products to complement each other and most importantly, to keep water off the basement floor. First, Derek recommended our CleanSpace vapor barrier be installed on the leaky walls. Derek explained that our CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that gets applied directly to unfinished basement walls, and works to direct water entering through the wall, downward, and into a perimeter drain, which, in this case, Derek wanted to be our WaterGuard. This unique French drain gets installed below the basement floor slab but on top of the foundation footing, keeping it out of the "mud zone" where similar drains tend to clog. Because the CleanSpace runs into the WaterGuard, it collects water entering from the wall, and small porous cracks or holes in the floor, giving the water a channel to flow to the appropriate disposal site. Derek noticed the lack of drainage from the basement itself and urged the homeowner to add one because of the large amount of water entering the space. Derek recommended our SuperSump sump pump, an effective and economical solution. This sump is engineered to help keep the basement dry and healthy for extended periods of time, even in times of heavy water intrusion. The SuperSump® includes a powerful Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. Derek went on to say that the SuperSump can be installed with the optional UltraSump battery backup, which is designed to provide reliable, high-volume pumping capability when the electrical grid goes down. After Derek and the homeowner discussed options, she was thrilled to know that our solution would keep her basement dry and healthy for years to come and decided to schedule the installation for several weeks later.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Kiko P, led his team through the installation with a breeze. When they finished, they installed 14ft of WaterGuard, 1 SuperSump Sump Pump, 1 UltraSump battery backup, and 24 ft of CleanSpace throughout the basement. Now, our customer can enjoy her largest investment knowing that it is properly protected from unwanted water!

A homeowner from Minneapolis, MN, had just learned about the dangers of radon gas in a household. She didn't know much about Minneapolis radon companies, so she took to the internet. After searching for Minneapolis radon mitigation, she quickly found our website. She was impressed with our photo galleries of other radon systems we had installed in her area, so she signed up for her FREE estimate. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Romeo V, was headed out to the home.
When Romeo arrived, his first order of business was placing a continuous radon monitoring test in the lowest level of the home. This test functions to capture radon levels within the home over a 48-hour timespan, delivering the average level of radon after the test. Romeo explained to the homeowner that, should the levels come back higher than 4 pCi/L, she should strongly consider a radon mitigation system. He explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He went on to say that, when installed by an experienced radon mitigation specialist, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. The homeowner liked Romeo's comprehensive plan and decided to wait until her levels returned to make a choice. A few days later, Romeo returned to the home to collect the results, which returned well above the Environmental Protection Agency recommended level of 4 pCi/L, so the homeowner worked with Romeo to find a good installation date.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Geno, led his team through a seamless installation of the mitigation system. When they concluded, our customer was happy to know that she and her family would be breathing in clean air from now on!
