Drafty Crawl Space Gets a Fix in Saint Paul, MN

A homeowner from Saint Paul, MN, had noticed that a section of the floor on the main level of his home was much colder than other areas of the floor. It occurred to the homeowner that the issue might be his crawl space beneath the home. He began to look for a crawl space repair company in MN and quickly found us. He was impressed with our previous work and scheduled his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist was headed out to the home. When he arrived, he wasted no time getting down into the crawl space. When he finished, he was ready to make his recommendation. First, our Design Specialist recommended our CleanSpace, a 100% waterproof tarp-like material that gets installed directly to the walls of the crawl space. It works to collect the water entering through holes and cracks in the wall, keeping it off the crawl space floor. To compliment this product, our Design Specialist recommended our drainage matting, a dimpled matting that gets laid down on the floor of the space before the CleanSpace, giving the draining water a channel to flow freely to a disposal site. He then went on to recommend our TerraBlock and Foamax wall panel combo. TerraBlock™ crawl space insulation was developed to meet the challenge of insulating rough, uneven crawl space floors. The ¾-in.-thick sheet material is covered on both sides with a durable moisture barrier that makes the insulation resistant to puncture and abrasion damage. Foamax is a polyisocyanurate foam insulation panel with a white foil finish on the front and a foil vapor barrier on the back. It offers high-performance features such as high insulation value, a brighter, warmer basement, and can be left exposed, meaning no need to cover the panels. The homeowner was thrilled with the plan and signed on the spot.

Several weeks later, our Foreman, Kiko P, and his team successfully installed 260 sqft of CleanSpace, 198 sqft of Drainage Matting, 198 sqft of TerraBlock, and 116 sqft of Foamax. Now, our customer can enjoy a nice warm floor and energy-efficient house!

High Radon Levels Mitigated in Roseville, MN

A homeowner in Roseville, MN, recently came upon a social media post discussing the health risks radon poses in homes. She learned that radon is a by-product of uranium, a naturally occurring radioactive element that can be found when soil decays, making it unavoidable as it creates a high toxic level in the air we breathe. Worried that her family was unknowingly breathing in the toxic fumes, she decided to purchase a radon testing kit, and after several days, the test results were above 4pCi/L. The homeowner decided to contact us to schedule her FREE estimate.

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Kyle P., arrived at the home to analyze where the radon mitigation system would be installed. He informed the homeowner that our system would be installed at the lowest level of the home. This is done so that it can suck out the radon-rich air and spew it outdoors. The homeowner was grateful for Kyle's explanation and decided to move forward with the project.

In a couple of months, our Foreman, Dakota M., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They began by installing a PVC pipe beneath the footing. The pipe would then connect to the radon mitigation system that is installed outside of the home. After they were done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

Now, our customer and her family can breathe in fresh air! When was the last time you tested the radon levels of your home? Click HERE and schedule your FREE estimate today!

Damp Basement Gets Waterproofed in Roseville, MN

A homeowner in Roseville, MN was concerned when he noticed standing water and that the moisture levels in his basement were at high levels. He decided to look into basement waterproofing in the area and found out website. After browsing our website, the homeowner was pleased with our before and after transformations and decided to contact us to schedule his FREE estimate.

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Lance S., arrived at the home to give a proper inspection of the basement. He explained to the homeowner that one of the common causes of a leaking basement is a failed footing drain. When this fails, water saturates the soil surrounding the foundation. Water would then enter through cracks in the walls, between the wall and the footing, and underneath the footing. For this reason, Lance recommended our WaterGuard, CleanSpace, SuperSump+, and IceGuard. Our WaterGuard is a below-the-floor drain system that intercepts water at the perimeter of the basement and ejects it away. Our CleanSpace is our vapor wall barrier that is designed to prevent water from permeating the walls and move any water leaks to the drain system. Our SuperSump+ is a reliable sump pump capable of removing 2,220 gallons of water per hour. Lastly, our IceGuard is our anti-freeze discharge line that allows water to escape in case the sump pump discharge pipe freezes or becomes clogged. The homeowner reviewed Lance's proposal and happily agreed to move forward with the project.

In a couple of months, our Foreman, Luis D., arrived at the home for the installation. They began by installing 140sqft of CleanSpace by attaching them to the wall using drilled-in fasteners. They also installed 25ft of WaterGuard and 1 IceGuard. Lastly, the crew installed the SuperSump+ ensuring it is connected to the WaterGuard and IceGuard. Once they were done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

Now, our customer can trust that his basement will remain dry for many years to come! Have you noticed wet floors or leaking walls? Don't worry and click HERE to schedule your FREE estimate!
