A Minnetonka, MN, homeowner had been keeping an eye on his basement for some time. Over time, he had noticed large stair-step cracks forming on his wall. Not wanting the issue to get any worse, he went to google to search cracked foundation repair near me. Darin recommended the use of our PowerBrace system. The PowerBrace™ is a patented foundation wall repair system that's designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten walls over time. These steel I-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustment. Over time, the PowerBrace™ System can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straighter and more vertical. The homeowner agreed with Darin and scheduled the work for some time later.

 Mr. Conner's foundation walls are cracking and pushing inward due to the expansive soils and hydrostatic pressure on the walls from outside his home. We recommended installing eleven Geo-Lock Wall Anchors along the bowing wall to stabilize and restore the wall back to its original position.  The soil anchors were placed in the ground outside his home. Steel rods attached to soil anchors extend through the foundation wall and wall plates. Wall plates distribute clamping pressure. Tightening nuts on the threaded ends of the rods stabilize the wall for a permanent solution.

Gordon G. in Mankato, MN had a bowing foundation wall in his basement. He saw an ad for American Waterworks in the phone book and called us to see if we could help him. We were happy to send our Design Specialist, Eric Hazelton, to his home to do a free onsite estimate. Eric developed a plan to have our team install anchors along the bowing wall to secure and stabilize it.

Anne L. and her husband in Mankato, MN had recently purchased a home and their realtor recommended that they have the home tested for radon before they move in. After learning that radon is the #1 cause of lung cancer for non-smokers and kills over 21,000 people each year, they started looking for a company to test their home, so they would not be putting their health at risk. Their realtor recommended using American Waterworks, so they gave us a call and we sent our one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, to set up the test. 48 hours later, Jeremy came back to read the test results. He discovered that their house did in fact have high levels of radon. Jeremy recommended that they have our radon mitigation system installed as soon as possible and they agreed.

Our radon mitigation specialists drilled a hole through the concrete in the basement to create a suction point for the gas. Then, a PVC pipe is inserted which goes up through the house and exits the home through the roof. A fan is installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is being pushed away from the home. The post radon mitigation test showed a drastic reduction in radon gas, and they were relieved that their health would not be compromised. The installation only took one day to complete, and now they can rest easy knowing that their home is protected.
