A Montevideo, MN, homeowner was in his garage one day when he noticed a large crack running lengthwise on the furthest wall. He was immediately worried about what this could mean for the structural integrity of his home, so he decided to find a MN-based foundation repair company. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ryan P, headed out to the home. He completed a thorough inspection of the foundation of the garage and then met with the homeowner to go over his findings and recommendations. Ryan began by stating that the homeowner was seeing cracking because there was an excess amount of pressure being applied to the wall from the exterior. Sue, from Mapleton, ND, was growing more concerned over the state of her wet crawl space. If a a damp crawl space begins to rot, grow mold, or experience structural problems, issues can extend to all parts of the home. Sue wanted to understand why it was happening, make sure that the issue was corrected, and restore peace of mind moving forward. After deciding on our company, we set her up with a FREE inspection. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property. Once he completed his walkthrough, he made recommendations as to how American Waterworks could help. 

First, Ian recommended our drainage matting; a dimpled matting that gets installed onto the floor of the crawl space, giving any excess water a route to flow through the space and be disposed of at an external site such as a drain or a sump system. Ian's second recommendation was our CleanSpace vapor barrier, a 100% waterproof tarp that works to trap any excess moisture in the space, redirecting it to the appropriate disposal site. Our customer agreed with the recommendations and work began shortly after. 

Our Foreman, Jeremiah, and his team ended up installing 1938 sqft of the CleanSpace and a 4' tall Half Wall System in the crawl space. They also worked on installing two of our SmartDrains throughout the crawl space. Our SmartDrains are made specifically to track down water and keep it from invading the crawl space.
