Steve and Marge from Portland, ND had begun to notice that their old sump pump just wasn't keeping up the way it used to, resulting in excess water finding its way into their space. After doing some research about waterproofing companies in the area, they found us. When they called our office, we set them up with our FREE estimate, and a few weeks later our Design Specialist, Richie, headed out to the property to complete his thorough inspection and make recommendations as to how we could help. Once he finished his walkthrough, Richie explained to Steve and Marge that their best bet would be our WaterGuard french drainage system along with our TripleSafe and UltraSump backup. Richie explained that the WaterGuard is installed below the concrete floor, atop the foundation footing, but out of the "mud zone" where normal drains can clog. He went on to say that it works to trap any water entering through cracks or holes in the foundation and helps it travel to an appropriate disposal site, the TripleSafe, an effective and economical sump solution. Richie explained that the UltraSump battery backup can help any of our sump systems pump out 11,500 gallons or more in a single charge, and has the ability to alert you of power failure, as it sounds an alarm when it runs and silences when the pump cycles off, making it the perfect addition to a home with heavy water intrusion.
Steve and Marge agreed with Richie's recommendations and work began shortly after. Our Foreman, Zach, and his crew worked diligently to install 122 ft of our WaterGuard, 1 TripleSafe sump pump, and 1 Ultra Battery backup in the basement. Once the project was complete, Steve and Marge were happy to know that they no longer had to worry about water intrusion wrecking their basement!
Charlie H. of East Grand Forks, MN had water seeping through the cracks of his basement, making him feel nervous about his home repair needs. He went on the American Waterworks website and contacted our staff through our webchat. We set him up with a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson. Chad went to his home to inspect the leaks and come up with a solution. Charlie got all of his questions answered and was confident in Chad's proposal, so he moved forward with the project.
Our Foreman, Brian Colliton, and his production crew started the installation by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, its easy-to-access service ports, and its ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. To complete the WaterGuard project, Brian and his team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Are you having water problems in your basement?
