Chris P. in Grafton, IA had an old sump pump and a Beaver System in his home, but he still had water leaking through the foundation into his finished basement. Unfortunately, the water had caused damaged to his drywall and flooring. He contacted American Waterworks and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Dylan Woitas, to his home to provide a permanent solution. He approved of the plan and moved forward with an installation date.
Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrubias, and his production crew removed the damaged portion of the drywall and then removed the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor to create a trench for our WaterGuard drainage system. They laid the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement, so the water would be properly guided to our recommended TripleSafe sump pump. Then, they filled back the gaps around the WaterGuard with rock and replaced the concrete. They installed our EverLast half-wall restoration system, which includes metal studs and an inorganic, mold-resistant wall product that replaces the bottom 32" of the drywall. This is a permanent solution for water-damaged dry wall! Chris was pleased with the results and glad he can now enjoy a clean, healthy basement!

A homeowner in Grafton, IA, knew it was time to have their sump pump replaced. Knowing they could not do this themselves, the homeowner began looking into companies that offer sump pumps. The homeowner wasn't sure who to work with so they asked their friends for any recommendations. Several of their friends recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided to take a closer look at our services and previous projects. Impressed with our work, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Ryan. Ryan traveled to the home and began his detailed inspection of the basement. During his inspection, Ryan confirmed the sump pump needed to be replaced. Additionally, he recommended other waterproofing products be installed in the basement. The homeowner knew this was their best option, so they agreed with Ryan's recommendations. Next, Ryan sent the proposal to our Logistics team to build the project. Once the project was built, it was assigned to our Foreman, Raul, and his crew. Raul and his crew traveled to the home and started the waterproofing installation. First, the crew installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. Once the WaterGuard was secured, the crew shifted their focus to taking out the old sump and replacing it with the TripleSafe Sump Pump. After the TripleSafe was installed, the crew installed a feedline across the basement to connect it to the new sump pump. Finally, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Once all the products were installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew. A Hayfield, MN, homeowner was in the process of upgrading his basement when he had the idea to add a bedroom to the space. He was worried that this bedroom wouldn't be up to code because of the improper means of egress, so he decided to find a contractor who specialized in this area. He had previous work foundation work done by American Waterworks, and decided to give us a call for another FREE estimate, and several weeks later, our Design Specialists were scheduled to stop at the home.
When our Design Specialist arrived, he launched right into his inspection, meeting with the customer when he had finished. He informed the homeowner that he recommended our RockWell egress window well, explaining that RockWell offers an attractive alternative to ugly window wells while providing a safe, code-compliant basement egress. RockWell window wells are a one-piece, rigid construction that will not collapse from backfill or allow water to leak through the well walls. They’re UV stable, rust, and rot-proof, and stand up to extreme temperatures. RockWell’s egress window wells feature durable, built-in steps that make it easy for your family to escape from your basement in the event of an emergency. We also offer safety ladders for our Premier series window wells. The homeowner liked the sound of our plan and signed on the spot.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Victor S, and his team worked tirelessly to install the products. When they had finished, our customer was happy to know that American Waterworks had helped him restore his peace of mind in his home once again!

Our production crew installed a full perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system into the concrete floor and connected it to a TripleSafe sump pump, which is our most reliable sump pump. The TripleSafe is backed by three layers of protection which includes a battery backup that can pump out 11,500 gallons of water on a full charge. The water leaking into Jordan’s basement is now properly guided through the WaterGuard drainage system into the sump pump. From there, the water gets pushed through the discharge line to the outside of the home. Jordan is glad he chose a system that will protect his basement for the long-term.
