Basement Waterproofing Before & After Photos

A homeowner in Austin, MN called American Waterworks because she was getting water in the basement.  As the temperature was warming up and the snow was melting, water was pooling in the homeowner's basement. We got them set up for a free estimate to solve their water issue. Our design specialist came up with a personalized plan for the homeowner. The homeowner was confident in the resolution so they signed the proposal and got set up a date to start. 

On the day of the installation our crew arrived and began work. They started the project by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our crew installed our WaterGuard, which is an interior drainage system that prevents mud clogs and collects water leakage from basement walls. Next, our crew installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier, which is designed to prevent water from seeping through the walls and save money on energy costs.  To finish up the project, our crew filled the open-floor gaps with river rock and applied a new layer of concrete over them, ensuring the space was neater and cleaner than they found it.

A follow-up call was made to the homeowner and they were very satisfied with the work that was done. The homeowner stated that the crew did a great job, was very clean and efficient.

The homeowner did not want their problems to worsen, so they wanted to find a solution. Uncertain about who to work with, the homeowner asked a friend who had a similar issue. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of Nick, one of our Design Specialists. Nick arrived at the home and the homeowner showed him to the problem area. After Nick did a thorough walk-through of the basement, he found the source of the water. Nick alerted the homeowner of his findings and recommended an action plan. The plan included installing a new drain system and sump pump. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner agreed with Nick's suggestions. The plans were directed to our Foreman, Gabriel, and his crew and they traveled to the home. Once they arrived, Gabriel and his crew began installing the WaterGuard, our patented below-floor drain, around the perimeter of the basement. Next, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the TripleSafe sump pump. Then, the crew attached CleanSpace, a waterproof plastic vapor barrier, to the basement walls. To finish off the project, the crew attached an IceGuard, an anti-freeze fitting, on the outside discharge line. The crew swiftly completed the project and cleaned up their materials. Our Design Specialist had noted that the collected water had no means to exit the basement, so he recommended our SuperSump sump pump. This effective and economical pump is engineered to help keep the basement dry and healthy for extended periods of time, even in times of heavy water intrusion. The SuperSump boasts a powerful Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. The homeowner agreed with our Design Specialists recommendation and signed on the spot. 

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Kiko, led his team through the successful installation of  4f6t of CleanSpace and WaterGuard, as well as 1 SuperSump sump pump. Now, our customer can rest easy knowing his water intrusion worries have been put to an end!
